Hi everyone. I am new to the forums and was quite fascinated by the dual cell bit built by Prabbit. I am in the process of building my own two cell terror. I was wondering if I could get some specs on his dual cell
bit? Also what is the switch type thing mounted on top of the PCB cover?
I have a WRX microsizer that I got for Christmas. This is going to be my guinea pig since I really don’t want to ruin my prized bit (acura NSX)
Is wiring the cells in series the way to go? I have heard of other methods.
Lastly, how long do you have to charge it for? Do I have to build a custom charger or will my controller have the cajones to do it? -

dual cells are in series…and yes you have to build a custom charger..i removed the charger port from my controller and attached it to a 4AA cell holder…i carge my dual NiCd bit for 90-120sec…

Guess it depends what cells you can get, more than anything else.
Doesn’t seem to be anyway of getting original Tomy nicad cells apart from scraping one off a BCG or KIT.

I used 1/3 AAA NiMH cells (120maH) in mine (AU$6 ea from battery world). The stock ones are only 50maH, are physically bigger and weigh more so not much point using them. Here’s a hint: if you can’t get the solder to stick to the battery contacts scuff it up a bit with some sandpaper etc beforehand.

Yeh Ive done a dual internal NiMh cell bit and with a 3.8 in it, it flies. Heaps of fun, it drifts real well too, on the right surface.
Go for it, you will enjoy 🙂
