Hello,
greetings again from Italy !
I recently acquired a batch of 8 Shen qi wei at 12 US$ each and they are ok !
They are consistent about details and motors but two of them have strange steering behavior.
The 2 with problems can go straight and can turn both directions but they steer more to left than right.
I disassembled both shen and they do not seem ok.
How can I fix these two ?Thank you ! 🙂

the reason they ster more to the left tha the right is because the motor is on the left side driving the left wheel

Check that the steering magnet is dead center in the middle. If the magnet is to one side it will not turn equally to both sides.

If it has come loose, fix it back into place and use a tiny drop of super glue to keep it there

Hi,
the magnet is perfectly centered on the plastic steering bit(as I can see).
And a car steer more to the left and the other steer more to the right.
Any ideas ?

But he’s saying one car pulls left, and the other pulls right. if it’s just motor position they’d both pull in the same direction.
I’d suggest perhaps the spring may have more tension to one side. Make sure both arms of the spring are dead straight.
Double check the magnets, and even glue them in place.
Do they have a steering fine tuner/adjuster underneath the car?

Hello all,
yes, there is a little tab to adjust but it only works to “re-straight” the car, I was speaking about a differential steering: one car steer more to the left than to the right and the other steer more to the right than to the left.
I can adjust the tab so they both travel in a straight line (sort of !) but they corner in different way and different radii.Sorry for my bad english I misleaded you !
Ciao

Ciao,
I just checked the magnet and the inside and there is nothing wrong. I’ll try with a small metal washer on the “weak” side of the steering magnet… bof, another tweaking day 😀
