  There are a number of people in the Sydney area working on getting a major Mini-Z race day happening.
  
  It looks like the venue will be up in Lithgow area and there will be something like at least 10 runners there!
  
  Steve from Trading Direct (swinternet@hotmail.com) is in direct contact with the club that runs the track and he and Derek (derek@ausmicro.com) are the best people to register your interest with.
  
  It will be a big day and hopefully with good attendance will become a regular event.

  dqs73, been blading for about a year, my forte is trails pushie but,shypo, parts,parts,parts,sweeeet.aaron,me n shypes were talkin about an sydney city club as most of us dont go as far as lithgow for holidays,then we can challenge lithgow club 2 a showdown(and kick a)but still interested in the lithg. meet being organised at the moment…….

  lithgow is a long long way away, but i guess if theres 4 or 5 of us on the train it wont be to bad at all, race at the platform when wating for the train, lol busking for train fare:clown:

  i think lithgow is too far for most of us, especially myself and GT-ahh as we will have to have a long bus ride followed by about 4 hours by train which is just ludacris for some R/c racing.
  somewhere locally in Sydneys centre or the equvalent is the best place IMO

  Im with Shypo, somewhere this side of the Blue Mountains!! Though i’d only have a short bus ride, then four hours by train… still not good. 8 hours travel for 4 hours racing??

  would the eastern suburbs be better? i might be staying out at beecroft for a while next week (20 min from strathfield, which is a 45 min drive from nrthn beach and city, 15 min from hornsby) so ill check out schools and carparks in the area.

  Guys keep in mind that there is a running track in Lithgow. I know it’s in the boonies and we all understand the hassles getting out there but it’s a track that is up and running!
  
  Are the track at St Ives any good for Mini-Z?

  i havent seen the track in st ives but i would honestly rather race in a parking lot than travel to lithgow, man that is a trek and a half.

  Like Aaron says it’s out there and there’s no demand on anyone having to stress themselves to get there but at the same time we have to start somewhere.
  It’s a chance for organised racing and from what Aaron says, the club that’s looking at hosting it has a good base of new people with Mini Z’s and it’s a great opportunity for Ausmicro.com and TradingDirect to be out there and be seen.
  
  So I guess it comes down to this……
  We have been invited by this club, Ausmicro has enough of a reputation to have deserved this!
  Get off yer butts and support the forum that supports your hobby!!!
  
  As we saw in the merchandising posts, Aaron has chipped in 2K from his pocket, well now its your opportunity to show the world, or in this case Lithgow, that people like Aaron keep this sort of thing alive and well for a damned good reason.
  
  Show your support!
  Show em we know how to race!
  Make em eat our dust!
  Next time, we can call the shots a bit better and have the race on our turf and invite the Lithgow racers to come along.
  
  For you guys that are not able to get out there, how about ringing up your local hobby shop or r/c club and seeing if there’s any other clubs in Sydney or indeed anywhere in Australia that can run Mini Z’s on their tracks.
  
  So……..
  those of you that want a race closer to your home, do something about it!!!! Don’t always wait for someone else to do it, or indeed leave it to A&D to do all the hard yards. They obviously do plenty as it is!!!!!!

  its just such a long way for alot of us, its on average 4.5hrs to 5hrs of travel time, by the time we get there we would hav to leave again which is not cool.
  i want to go but its just a long long way. its good publicity yes but if we get at leats 10 guys in Sydney and we find a half decent track then thats the place to go, i wouldnt mind challenging the lithgow fellas tho

  kittykat, i thought by organising a sydney race meet with the peeps who cant and wont travel to lithgow, clearly shows that we r “getting off our a@se’s and doing something about it??? im with u shypo, id love to challenge the boys from the bush @lithgow every now and again but regularly race in the inner city of sydney city racers vs the country boys!! competition is healthy, ya? im sure i read or saw somewhere that lithgow is only run on a basketball court anyway? is this right lithgow?

  I understand not wanting to come to the boonies, for some racin with tha good ol boys 🙁
  So steve is settin it up a bit closer.
  We don’t care where we race as long as we race.
  A full weekend of racin in ACT sounds good to me.
  If ya can’t travel to far set sumpin up in your area we will travel.We also race all other scales of R/C so need a bit of notice to fit it in.
  get a square of carpet a box of chalk & a cardboard box to cut ripple strips out of. Walla a track. It aint hard to do.

  you talking indoor or outdoor Shypo?? Outdoor is dictated by weather, but Meadowbank park has a MASSIVE netball court, rubberised surface, about 100 square metres. A haven for Tamiya most weekends… Just a option. No cost except travel.

  The netball courts are at the end of Adelaide Street, off Victoria Rd. From the city, the second left after the Macca’s in West Ryde. At the VERY end of Adelaide St( down the hill past the roundabout!!!) there is a carpark, next to that, r.c. heaven!!:smiley2:

  I’m new to these forums. I’ve been out of r/c racing for a few years now but have recently just discovered these mini z’s and would definitaly purshase one if someone was to organise some race meets on a regular basis somewere. I’m in sydney out near parra but would be willing to travel.

  Well guys we have a date, a booked indoor venue and we have at least me coming from Interstate… I’m sure Kitty will come too so that makes 2 people from interstate… check the new Sticky thread in General…
