hello all mini z freaks in sydney. as there seems to b more of us now lets get racing on a regular basis going. anyone interested in participating is welcome, this will help everyone learn more tips and mods and mabye get group buys going since parts from sydney stores are ridiculess! any way looking forward 2 meeting everyone 2 race!

I live near shypo…except abit closer to the city…
im running a black WRX, nimh’s, band 1, with a self-made custom motor….If anyone wants FETs I can get IRF7389’s for ~$5 each if i order 25+ or $4 if I order 100+…Edited by – GT-ahh on 13 January 2003 11:22:34

I’ve got a white MR-S with a carbon looking hood and a pretty eat up Lancer EVO… 🙂
Except it is in storage somewhere… Will see if I can find it again 🙂

Only just found this place, ive spent all my time at MZR forums, im in mascot, with a GT3(battered)Ch5, and more than happy to find some races in sydney.
i have few hop ups for handling, more on the way including fets for turbo modding.
Hope to see you at the track.

sweeeeeeeettt!!! its good 2 c all of u, im going to the indoor court right now to check availability, also shypo and i r running band 4 crystalz we need some spare freq’s gt ahh i want fets. im 27/3d animation geek….blu wrx LOWERED,hops to come..shypo?!!#$%..lol. guys n gals with rexy’s dump them on the deck! they look sweet, also it allows u 2 move to short chassis position.:):D:p

u r soo gonna have to show me how to dump it. prob with the hop ups as i didnt order them from stella i ordered them from another guy and he doesnt have them all:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:. so i got him to refund me and im gona buy the new ones from stella and evrything should be here by about the 28th maybe earlier:D:angry:

ITS $22.50 per hr at the centre, its fully booked this wkend but we dont have 2 go there, we need a nice surfaced court in the nth syd region maybe…..shypo u :clown:
dont know what jaycar stock….wood=drift with correct setup….:8ball:/ where do u want to meet? and how many r coming? -

um i think u mean FETs not crystals..crystals are what governs the freq…3004 are what come in the z and IRF7389s are what most people use…im not sure they are the best tho..aparantly people use “secret” FETs, stingy bums wont say what they use…
and also i found out that dse, jaycar, and altronics dont have crystals over 10mhz… but i can get 25mhz easy enough..would this work?http://gtahh.web1000.com/

GT-ahh, the circuit is usually designed to use a certain freq. e.g you might need to replace numerous components to get it to work. just buy the proper kit that has all the xtals.

How does newtown or sydney uni sound for a place to race. i will check it out for carparks, netball or basketball courts.
The city is about as far as i could go for a z race unless its a huge meet.
For the south side there are a couple of really nice netball courts to race on, just need people and something for the track outline.. (chalk?)
not going to make a PVC track(seen used for carpark racing)yet cause when i buy a flat next year gonna make a home track.

Welcome to world of ‘big’ RC. 🙂
mZ use AM xtals on the 27MHz band, they come in matched pairs. If you change your TX xtal you need to change the one in the car too (its that oval hole near the switch on the bottom, pull out its silver tag to yank it out).
27MHz AM xtals are easily available from any hobby shop, pricewise approx A$12-20/pr. Any brand will work, it doesn’t matter but make sure the RX side goes into the car and that the RX xtal is not too long for the mZ chassis.
Don’t buy “FM” ones as they’re dearer ($30-40?) and they won’t work in mZ. Also don’t buy ones on other bands (29, 40Mhz etc) as you’ll detune your radio system and severely lose range.

ill have a look about the uni, see if there is any spots worthy of racing. will let you know by friday where to go, and if i can make it.
im still waiting on some cambered knuckles, my stock ones are broken.
will update as soon as it cools down enough to check out the Uni. Being a postie im already melted in this heat.
