This is it guys… the start of a FAQ that will (eventually) answer all questions about this topic. Groundrulez:
Rule #1:- post only additions to the FAQ, not Questions or chitchat.
Rule #2:- post only Facts, not Rumours or Opinions.

Main difference between Mini-Z (mZ) and PalmRunners (PR) is:-
Kyosho’s mZ is fully-proportional RC, whereas the PR is on/off control only.
Controls in fully-proportional are “analog” in that the power or steering is activated as much as you move the trasmitter’s control – giving you anywhere from nothing to full speed with everything in between.
On/Off control only gives All or Nothing.

PR bodies and wheels are easily INTERCHANGEABLE with the mZ.
Depending on your LHS (local hobby store), some might find that buying a whole new PR kit is cheaper than buying new bodies and tyres for your mZ.

Do Not Touch antenna’s together (TX & RX) or you Will Fry Your Pcb.
Do Not allow Antenna to touch Engine, Alloy Engine pods, or roll shocks. (same reason)
Insulated Atenna Is the way to go.

Best to remove the batteries before performing any maintenance on your Z
Autoscales are also another cheap alternative to get new bodies and wheels (And you do not have any leftover controllers)
A soft earplug between the engine housing and the back of the chassis makes a relatively good damper

The HPI micro RS4 Pinions (8-9t) are interchangeable with the mini z. The pinions are metal (not sure what) and are a solution to the plastic pinions which wear out.

The front kingpins need to be lubed, a dry lube does not attract dirt so it does not need to be cleaned and relubed. This helps the suspension work more effectively

Spare gears are available for the steering servo if you strip them in an impact.

This is a great read if you want to fit some custom mZ bodies!

Try not to mix delrin and metal gears together… The metal ones will just shred the delrin ones 😀

Mini-Z come in either 1 of 3 different lengths (S/M/L), and 2 motor positions (low/high) to suit the different bodies.
Before buying a new shell make sure its either (1) the same as your current one or (2) you’ve got the right parts to convert. 😀

1:24 scale models can be custom fitted to mini Z chassis, using a custom H plate or O plate most designs can become yours.

MiniZ are “1/28” scale, so sometimes 1/24s might be a bit big so check width first.
Have also been told that some slotcar bodies might fit eg Fly, Scalextrix.
In all cases, you’ll have to engineer your own body mounting tabs etc of course.
