      My mini Z came with black pinions, they have worn out really quickly. Are they made from different materials??

      yeh eht do worn out, iv already replaced my original, thats why im after a metal one !!

      So the white ones are better?

      I think the black ones are Japan, the China mZs all seem to have white pinions.

      Yeah my mini z is a jap one. I think the white ones are nylon.

      becos with my X speed and a black pinion the black pions are getting shredded but i dont wanna buy a metal one cos that would just shred my Dif and i dont really wanna spend $40 odd dollars on a new metal dif

      The diff is made from nylon i think, very hard wearing stuff….i doubt that the metal pinions will affect the spur gear (diff).

      why would it shred???? If the mesh is right it should be fine. I think one of the main reasons the plastic gears shred is because of all the race grime that goes through the gears, and acts as a grinding agent, which wears the teeth away.

      maybe try applying some dry lubricant like powdered grahite…be careful you dont inhale it tho..aparantly its not to good for your lungs..

      Im gonna go the ball diff cause the stock diff is extremely dodgy. Im also gonna go the HPI gears, Some wide alloys and foam tyres,and thats it in the power train department. I already have the x speed and ball bearings.

      i just bought sum really soft racing slicks and they are awesome, they are sticky as anything, u drive on the crapet and u get fluff stuck to ur tires lol

      they are ment only for standard rims unfortunatley, cos Kyosho dont make semi wide tires i dont believe

      Yes we bought some Kyosho semi-wide slicks, and the father-in-law fitted them to his standard wheels. Looks better than the original skinny tyres too, not that much spillover.

      Im getting some sweet WIDE alloys 10 spoke black 🙂 And some soft tyres 🙂
