Hey i was wondering which parts off the Hot Wheels K.I.T racers would work on a compact or bit, anyone know??
-
January 12, 2003 at 11:32 am #43469
axels, gears (if you use the pinon that comes with the K.I.T’s as well), motor, tyres, heat sink, bat. Don’t think I missed anything? Body? Haven’t tried that yet..
-
January 12, 2003 at 4:08 pm #43454
Body doesn’t work.
Axels might need a bit of trimming:- see QFM.
-
January 12, 2003 at 11:47 pm #43428
axels def need trimming, they also need A HUGE amount of torque to get them going on a BCG

If ya want them to work (gears) ya sould hold the bit off the ground start the motor then drop it so it takes off
If you do get a kit make shore its a MPH or a RPM model so u get a 2.6
-
January 13, 2003 at 2:07 am #43417
even still the gears make a 2.6 run like a 1.0

In other words don’t use the gears, its not worth it.

Yeah, you would only use them if you had no other gears, sort of a last resort. If you buy a kit for the faster motor and you also use the gears then youre back to where you started, but with less accel.

yeah i bought a mph/kph kit and i wanted to use the gears to slow it down cauz i have a track set and my bits are too fast for it but i cant get the rear axel to fit
-
January 20, 2003 at 4:49 pm #42978
you might have to shave some of the axle off to get it to fit in the bit char-g .. it is possible, just a little hard work
27MHZ 3.5 Honda Accord (Custom Exhaust and F1 Wing)
35MHZ 1.0 Battery Modded Castrol Supra
45MHZ 2.2 Custom Painted Yellow and Black WRX
57MHZ 2.6 Booster Trueno
Mini Z Blue WRX (Lights, Gold alloys, Exhaust)
Mini Z Castrol Supra + all mods (Coming) -

the axel is too small cauz of the bulky gear on it do u mean shave the gear?

KIT gears are actually much *higher* than BCG gears, the motor doesn’t have enough torque to drag the BCG along – that’s why its slow. Its like starting off from stationary in 5th gear.
I don’t think its very good for the motor!
If you want your BCGs to go slower, put in the 12:1 gearset and a 1.0 motor.

Or buy a wild char-g, lol. Slow and steady wins the race, or runs over all the other cars:)

hehe, true ! I love my wild char-g, they are slow, but still heaps of fun

I just saw KIT racer cars at Big W, they have been reduced to $19.76.
-
January 27, 2003 at 7:08 pm #42311
Not a bad price for a spare motor, heatsink, tyres, and battery
-
January 28, 2003 at 6:59 pm #42236
you mat find that you need to shave off abit of the inside right wheel(oposite the gear), not the wheel itself but the bit that holds the axle. The RPM motor from the K.I.T. cars is also a 2.6, plus they have a 3.0 that you can get seperately. I found that the motor from a Cyclona (Toyworld) works wonders, I just threw the motor straight into
my Compact and it goes hard. What size is the aqua pinion that comes with the Cyclona? Is it the same size as the black Compact/Bit pinion?
I ask because the aqua one seems abit smaller, allowing the motor to
spin more freely. -

i dont think that the 3.0’s ever hit the market for the K.I.T. racers… nobody was buying them, and thats why everyone is unloading them.
-
February 1, 2003 at 4:57 pm #43718
i made a spare parts trailer for my Bb last night out of k.i.t spares and some railway hobby suplies. could you buy the 3.0 of the shelf like the k.i.ts?

The Lucifer Rotor 3.0 pack that we all know is really a “BitRacer” part, its not an official BCG option.
Haven’t seen any KIT option bits available downunder, doubt if they’ll ever arrive.

February 4, 2003 at 11:06 pm #41738
man AFX springs are way way to expensive in that tune up kit thingy

-
March 2, 2003 at 11:07 pm #40141

i got them the other dayDave, they are very very springy, i know it sounds strange but they are extremely reistant, they can be a bit to springy and bpuncey if u dont cut them perfectly, a bit squsihed to making it kinda hard to get them completley over the knuckles

Good Lawd! What does that equal in US dollars???
All the Dept. Stores here are clearing them out. We get them for $2.99 on clearance at Target here in the US ! Some toy shops still want $5.99 – $9.99 for them which I thought was high.DarkTari

For $2.99 US, Grab a few. If nothing else you’re getting a very cheap motor, plus some spare tires.

AHH! i went 2 KMART 2 day. I looked for ’em but couldnt find any. Then i clanced a different way and i found the last one left in the entire store. It was the high performance one (kph/mph). I waited for sum 1 to tell me the price for 30 minutes. It was $10 au. Bargain, i think the parts are made by tomy! judging by the battery.
