Thanx, but I have in mind rims made by ACME company (I think scala has bigger inner hole-like 1.5 mm). They were available at 5 and 6 mm width, but now only 5 mm are available.
    here is the sample page:

You’re talking about a normal 4.2 motor like this?

    http://www.rc-racer.nl/v2/product_info.php?cPath=6_7_36&products_id=221

I think that is the old version wich perormance is not so good.
The ones we are talking came in a transparent package in a “minicooper” style. Available at Toyeast….

This setup is nice on paper but preety useless in reality. Lets go step by step:

Dual Motors* – U must be aware that top speed will be lower than with single motor (motors aren`t EXACTLY the same so basically weaker motor will holding faster down. So don`t bother with that

4.2 Motors – that is ok

Dual Li-Po* – Now that would fry the PCB and motor (actually frying the PCB can be avoided with a little trick , but motor will fry for sure).Even with single li-poly you will need a custom heatsink or you can say goodbye to the motor after a few laps.

Rear Tires – Pink tires from GS-07 set – Now this is the weakest part. Since the car would be very light and fast due to li-poly, constant flipping is unavoidable. My advice is to use Pullback or alloy rims with AJS2000 sponge tyres
    (available at http://www.ncphobbies.com/164slotcar.html )

Front Tires – Use pullback front rims with tyres

MOSFET job* (Hello MicroAmps!) – Agree with that 🙂

and u forgot 8.25 or bit racer gears…

BUT NONE OF THIS WILL HELP YOU IF YOU DON`T HAVE DRIVING SKILL !!!!!!

Hey betty k. that is simply amazing. Don`t tell me that you made this differential by yourself. And what kind of chassis is this? I have never seen anything like that. can you tell a little more about this? Once again AMAZING work….

The price for the charger is 26$ (incl. wall adapter) and I didn`t have any trouble getting stuff from them (I live in Slovenia).
I`m not sure about motor resistance…. I think less resistance means more power.

Maybe you can use one of the heatsinks which are used for cooling the standard transistors (silver, cylindrical-shaped ones)… I think diameter is approximately the same as motor ….
You might need to cut it (or the chassis) to fit.
    I really doubt that this will prevent motor to die, since I destroyed a few motors ( 3 x 4.2 king, 2 x Phast,1 x BCG 4.0 and 1 x 4.2 Pro )
in a few months just with dual-cell-fet cars…
    Maybe with watercooling…..:)

I couldn’t even imagine what it would do with sticky tires.

Try to use AJS sponge tires AJS1000 available at http://www.ncphobbies.com/. Use them with alloy or pullback rims.
    You won`t be dissapointed….

    Good job, btw

Yes, if you go much higher the cell will heat up and if it boils inside the casing will expand like a little balloon and its not reversible.
There are rules that need to be followed for charging LiPos, and 1C maximum is one of them.
    :)uA

Thanx uA, I was actually thinking if this is maybe just a “safe” current approved by the company, like warnings on alkaline batteries which says “do not recharge” or something, hope you know what I mean…. I think I read somewhere if you charge it with 2c that it just reduce the cell lifetime, nothing else… Has anybody tested this?

Is max current for charging li-poly 1C ?

I was thinking to take two 80 mAh Li-poly cells wired in paralell instead of one 145 mAh cell. Measures of 80 mAh are 15 x 20 x 4 mm, so two of they will fit in the chassies better and capacity will be 160mAh.
Can 2 parallel li-ion cells be charged simultaneously as single with double current ?

Will triple stacking them require more on voltage? That would be parrallel, so it should be the same right?

I think so… since fets are stacked parallel same voltage is aplied on each fet….

    Did the single-fetted version worked?
Did you flip the second stage fets as well? You should.
Did you solder the wire-connected trminals of flipped fets to the PCB? You shouldn`t.
    Otherwise look for bad connection

Motors are like 5 times bigger than BCG motors (they occupie half of the slot car) and the are 12V, so not much use of them…. But you can use front axle for BCG rear axle, diameter is the same, only they are a bit longer than BCG

After testing couple of different sponge tyres from site above I can reccomend 2 types.

AJS2000 $2.98 2 AJs – Ground Rounds Sponge Black Donuts
    TYC6554 $2.98 2 Tyco – Sponge Rear Tires & Grey Hub Wheels

I preffer AJS a little better because they came without rims (no pulling-off needed)

WIZZARDs are still the best grip, actually the grip is so good that picks up every piece of dust and the car became undrivable few seconds after… So I can`t reccomend them except if you have very very clean floor.

How did you fit lamborghini body into the internal dual cell chassis? I presume that you have flipped pcb ?
