another way of looking at this is a bit char with a extra motor controller that runs independent of the first.

    possibilities:

-2 motor bit char, where the 2nd motor(controlled by another button) can be geared for low end or high end.

    -some steering possibilities

    -finally my helicopter idea

-or plane idea. (yes i saw the micro plane already, but it seemed to take alot of mods)

barto: sorry, but the digi-qs are better for war as they are more accurate.

z-beam: actually, i wanted to use the boards in my BCG bus and try something different. anyone got extra bus shells?

pcain: no game modes. the led on top lights up when hit. thats it. also, the sensor is way too sensitive as a tank aiming 45deg away can hit it. maybe recessing the IR led in the barrell might help. it is basically a BCG with a rotating turret and IR fighting. smooth running as a BCG, but not accurate enough to have a serious game of war. BUT the other uses of the rotating turret is endless.

upon closer inspection. the shell comes off just like a regular BCG. infact the chassis should mount a normal shell. the GUTS is basically 2 boards. one for the normal BCG stuff and another for the turret and IR stuff. hmm. the turret is a 2nd actual BCG sized motor driving a screw type mech like the digi-Q combat. oooh boy. if i can figure out how to make it snap back to center everytime, can you say proportional steering(kinda).

at least all this should fit under a BCG bus body. b

yeah, it could help with making the ends stronger for a stock motor, but a mod or big block will rip them off no matter what.

oohh. sprue = parts tree. i thought sprue was a medical condition.

yeah, i raced mine for 3 races at the LHS and got bored after that. especially when they messed up by how much i won by each time and said i couldn’t even try to run my new brushless setup or go with 8 cells. big block + cells = slow. july 27, aug 10, aug 24.

hey panda, its been a long time.

yeah, the 2 plastic tabs on the outdrive of the front diff is the biggest problem with the front, even with stock setups. not sure if anything can help that without binding. the other problem is the plastic teeth on the gears inside getting stripped with bigger motors and weak spring tension holding the 2 tiny metal gears in the middle. hey, what is diff sprue? i am not sure how gluing the diff casing together will help anything. anyways, if a person buys a micro, the recommended(personal minimum) upgrades are front diff, steel dogbones, battery pack, soft tires.

they are only unpopular if your local hobby store does not back it.

as far as cost, it is more expensive than a mini-z (just because of electronics) and almost as expensive as a 1/10th scale.

the crappy part is that is you put a mod motor into a stock car, you will break things without even crashing, so you need to add some hopups to the base price just to have a car the will run and not break. (referring to the weak planetary front diff)

i love my micro. but haven’t raced in a long time. nobody makes a motor fast enough for them to be undriveable yet. (speed 300s are slow with a properly setup chassis)

here is a video of what a bit char can do with a 1.0 motor single speed. a 2 speed 2.2 would be way faster, but keep in mind that i did this back over a year ago in march 2002. it is 5 megs and 36 seconds long.

i could never get a digi-q to do this as smoothly or even close to as fast as a 1.0 did.
even my bit charQ couldn’t do it. maybe i just suck at driving.

please buy my digi-q F1!!!, it comes standard with the digipropo special controller.

yeah, they fly. especially when you turn it up with the propo controller. the steering is awesome, BUT the crappy part of them is the delayed response to controller input. it is just like the refresh rate of the IR receiver on the car is loiking only 1 time per second or something. i have no idea, but that is what it seems like. try racing it and you will see that you gotta do things real early and last minute dodges around stuck cars just don’t happen. the lag sucks!!! even when i did the tapspring mod that runs the BCG w/ a digiq controller, it had the lag still. it is just the way it works. now if someone could increase the “update/refresh” rate, then the car would be untouchable.

for now i have a brand new mercedes digi F1 for sale, used for about 2 minutes right before i kicked myself in the axx for buying another one.
