im talking BCGs here, and yeh hammer would probably do it.

im just saying, ive wedged it under heaps of things, and never had any problems, the only thing that does it is flipping at high speeds on concrete.

    how do i fix this?

also, how the hell does that little switch control the steering trim? when i set mine to straight for forward, it doesnt effect reverse at all. these things really need a servo for steering, make our lives ALOT easier

yeah, i came to that conclusion. the outside wheel pushes the sway bar up on the outside, which in turn pushes down on the inside wheel.

does everyone have the problem of un-equal turning circles or is it just me? i put it down to when you turn onto the drive wheel, your turning circle is about 5cm wide, when you go off it, its much, much bigger (and a hell of a lot more stable too, i prefer the larger one).

anyway to combat this mighty foe?

steering now works a-la normally with the springs on, god knows why. wouldnt work for hours then suddenly ‘click’ and full right lock is on.:)

these springs are great, if anyones interested i can explain how to make them. VERY simple.

QUESTION: i removed the stabi-sus bar in order to give the coils a mroe active role, with seemingly better results. this a good or bad idea performance wise?

merc, dont bash noobs for asking questions like that, its what keeps the forums alive. new members will drop in and ask a question like that, and if they get friendly assistance, theyll come back, sometimes with tips of their own and it generally builds a stronger community. and on the topic of trying something new, this whole thread is about trying something new, and theyre only tiny cars, theres only so much you can do to them before it starts getting impractical or impossible.

and dont be so quick to knock n00bs on not trying anything new, because most of your creations are just faster variations of things people have already done (see: betty k’s full suspension mod, who ever did the 1st dual motor here [thinking bren123??]), which you usually ask ‘how can i get it faster?’

theres alot more to bits and RC in general than speed merc, and n00bs will learn it in time, in the mean time just let it go man, this community is a great asset to the hobby, and if it didnt exist because no one helped the n00bs, there wouldnt be the competitive modifications and expansions we all thrive on.

theres alot more to say on this matter, and i dont want to derail this thread anymore than i already have.

on topic: looking forward to seeing this competition go ahead fellas, should be interesting.

ive driven my car near and far, and the highest speed it can reach, and the only thing that manages to damage my shells is concrete.

i got my springs made from videotape springs, and they are fairly stiff. still the problem of magnetically attractive which interferes with steering by not having the power to move at all.
its a pain because i need these as some extra absorption for cornering after coming off a boost.

PS: my dad gave me some interesting info when i was telling him about the springs used to stop the car rolling. he said that you probably wont stop them rolling because of the small wheel base, especially if you try cornering during or just after a long boost. although i find if you time it right, boosting out of the corner makes the corner tighter and faster.

i know how to fix it when it used to do this, it was the magnet, but thats been glued in now.

no need to worry now though, fixed it. the screw to the housing was on too tight, hindering movement.

PS: ph2t those springs are good but i lost the stiff ones (they were exactly how i wanted them too ) they are identical to my carpet, so its tricky to find em.

im trying to make some new ones out of video tape springs, if not ill just buy some AFX springs

EDIT: the springs interfere with the magnet.. suggestions?

with 3 times the normal power, i dont think the motor is going to have too much load on it at all really.

your car must be painfully fast. even moreso on top speed gears..

they sell some, but just not small enough to fit in a BCG by my measurements.

do you use yours in a BCG?

it looks like a bit of re wiring would be involved to get them to attach to the BCG PCB, either soldered directly or get a female adaptor to plug into on the PCB, which would be handy.

but jesus, a tricell mod at one third the weight of a single cell would be just madness, and i want every part in it i can have dammit!

youd probably end up spending the same amount on the cell as on replacing tyres and motors 😛

would it be possible to get batteries for BCG that would have a higher output? this would help put more power into the motor.

to add some more realism to the look of the cars.

most of the cars are fairly detailed already, the childish cartoon wheel sizes let it down =
i find that the larger front wheels rub on the shell, so i had to file mine out a bit, and now the car looks uneven.

my quote is from a song: primus – shake hands with beef

primus are an awesome band, especially if you play guitar bass or drums, as all 3 members excel at their duty.

i play bass, and les claypool is my messiah 🙂

i got identical ones to yours, different colors though.

are the blue ones in our photo better? (the ones with the larger distance between grooves)

    I’d love the GTR set.

are SBCG wheels of equal size? ie – fullsize wheel mod

id also like to see some late model imports. silvias, 200sx, 180sx, 300zx, R33, CRX, integra(new), prelude, civics, OFFICIAL peugeots, maybe a rally set, 00 model WRX/22B etc.

holden and ford would be ok too.

its not like they couldnt just release them as super tourers in limited edition, theyd be collectors items more than toys then.

some guys in my area stole his mothers car, got high, got drunk, went 200ks over a roundabout, got airborne and hit a telegrapgh pole side on.

needless to say, that was the end of that story.

the car was ripped in half, each half 100m away from the pole.

    it was a ford though.:p
