nope…they didnt do that to me… although it could be random checks and you are just unlucky.

what can they possibly do with a photocopy of your ID and CC though? you can still dispute the charges if its a theft charge.

I ordered savage parts from tower hobbies on the 26th of december last year, and at the same time ordered some otherstuff from savage-central.com both with the fastest shipping available. the SC stuff arrived in about a week, tower took about 2 and a half. they sent it in a ridiculously oversized box though. like 2 1/10 rcs in box head to toe. all i ordered was a chassis and dogbones!

great prices and a nice, easy site too. make sure you check the front page for the ‘bonus’ order codes to get a discount on your order. they way i worked it was that i ordered enough to get a $20.00 discount, which covered the shipping.

our scooby libertys battery isnt the best, it needs 12 volts to kick over, .1 less and it wont ever bother. i could get an elec truck, are they much better than nitros?

the gears i use are the from the BCG gear set. its pretty damn fast, it actually flips over quite a bit (even with stiff custom springs and no sway bar)

id like to make my chassis lower so it doesnt flip as much, or maybe give it a bit more weight. i was thinking of using a fishing sinker, but youd all yell and tell me to just use a cell to give it more power. any more power and this thing would need a 1/10th track to be drivable!

i think the shells play a big part in it too. some of them are kinda tall, meaning that they make the cars a bit top heavier, increasing flipping. thats the man reason why im trying to lower the shell, besides the asthetic appeal of course.

i drive there with the family, but the car battery idea doesnt work as we run a TV at night and charge mobile phones if needed. the battery cant really handle 2hrs of tv and a phone being charged without a jump start, so charging an RC just wouldnt make it onto the list of priorities. we only go away for 2-3 days at a time, so a litre or nitro would be more than enough (i think?).

i dont mind if theres more troubles with nitro, because i enjoy fixing and tinkering with stuff. if it were to break on a camp, id just pack it up and leave it til i got home.

turned out pretty good dude, i like it.

i dont know why tomy and all the other companies make the shells the way they do, alot of them sit way too high off the chassis and look stupid. although you can fix this by doing what betty does and forgetting the mounting tabs for the bodies and using some stuff firm to grip the sides of the car.this way you could have it sit exactly how you want it to.

my vote goes to 4.2 with FETS on the green gears. single cell and it pulls wheelies on grippy surfaces. booster chassis is the best i find, gives you a bit more control.

ok, thanks alot. i will probably end up getting an electric car for the street and a nitro stadium truck or something for when i go to the national park camping (beach, grass, gravel roads)and backyard bashing. theres no electricity available so nitro is the way to go for that. i have a higher paying job now so ill probably spend alot more than i bargained for!

290 for an XB with shipping is pretty damn good. i found a couple of TB02s on ebay for 215 AUS inc. shipping, but of course i will need radio gear, batteries, etc.

ill look into the twin detonator, but i think itll cost too much. i dont want to spend alot on a car that i might not have time to use in the future.

alright, i went to my LHS today and had a chat with the guys up there, and ive settled on a tourer. they backed up what oldtamiyaphile said, in that for light offroad use the TB02 will survive aslong as you give it as much ride height its got. and with tourers it allows you to drive a wider variety of ‘cars'(i mean you can put on skyline, wrx, silvia, etc shells on it). im going to buy the TB02 first, then ill probably end up getting a stadium thunder kit (unless someone can suggest a better stadium truck) the LHS said that i could just take the radio gear out of one and put it in the other seeing as i cant use both at once anyway, is this right?

all this posting has helped lots, thanks guys!

now im thinking i can bush bash a TB02… the most it would be doing would be grass and very packed dirt, so it might be ok for that. but as usual, if you had a car that could take what you were throwing at it, plus more (truck or buggy) itd be more suited.

im just worried about buying a stadium truck and destroying the tyres when i go on-road.

question: can you take the drive shaft out of the TB and make it rwd?

how do the trucks handle on the road? are the bodies lexan or solid plastic?

i dont like buggys much, the style doesnt appeal to me.

im still leaning towards the TB02, just because ive got experience in driving tourers. although id love to launch a stadium truck off the gutters in my street….argh i cant decide

ok, say i bought a TB02, how much would i need to spend to make it go as fast as a nitro car?

also, how much do i have to spend on radio gear, servos, etc.
