Easiest TF body to make…..get the autoscale VW beetle (yellow) and stick an autobot insigna on the front. Bumblebee/goldbug in a jiffy.

other easy ones: lancia stratos (white and green )autoscale – Wheeljack

    MRO2 Lamboghini diablo (red)- Sideswipe

    Err…ferrari 512bb and f1…for the stunticons.

The sports centre is a great idea. hmm…we haven’t heard from the melbournites lately, wonder if they’re still racing?

Lobster are you the one on Burn.com forums? anyway,if your’re gonna race it on uneven road, a FET upgraded monster mini-z with high torque motor and alloy parts all over should suffice. Either that or a Team Losi Mini-T…..the flatter, on-road mini-z racers and Micro rs4s just don’t have enough ground clearence.

bettyk thanks for the info. Oh yeah, and dgs, i’ve been told that the brushes on the ***** won’t really last long due to the, uh, ****** limit (hope i haven’t given it away), u sure u don’t wanna pop it into a bbcan with higher ***** carbon brushes?

Yo novin, u mean the vid that dis thread is about? They’re from MIA F1, a mini-z fanclub in japan…they only race stock miniz’s and always race with j-pop and stuff in the background.

Well, we’ve raced around our first track, an L configuration, and have come to the conclusion : 6t is a must ;).

dgs: I’ve soldered the caps to your motor, the legs won’t really stick to the motor case, no matter how many solder I apply…..actually, i’ll have another go.

novin, welcome aboard. BTW I’m also eagerly waiting for Doom 3, that game looks sweet and scary, perhaps even scarier than avp2. Oh, and I’m waiting for the xbox version as my PC is a crappy 500mhz.

talldude is that video the one from multi mini station in HK? I think I’ve got them…man, are their Z’s fast or what. They also race Micro RS4 and TeamLosi’s there, wonder if it’s too small.

err…i don’t live around there, but in general, even hobby shops and those model places in chinatown don’t have bit hopups (To my experience). Some of us get them at trading-direct but they’re online…..even so, they are based in NSW. Pity it’s strictly a cyberspace thing.

i rewired my twin turbo onto my mr01 so needless to say, the spirit of bumblebee is back (and his PNSO3 as well.)

dgs my F1 has done that twice before, and i’ve had it for a year now, so it’s not serious. The knuckle-shaft just slipped out…..nothing a little pinch won’t fix. I’ll superglue it for better performance.

Yo I’m in too for Sunday, woohoo! Talldude, seeing as your selling your iwaver, do you still want me to attach the rear pitch shock on it? BTW, a normal kyosho tie servo would still fit if there were some way to sand out the potentio slot…..but it’s so darn small, perhaps we could try something?

If it weren’t for the slightly bigger potentiometer, the iwaver would be a steal. 🙂 perhaps i’ll get one myself.

Talldude, 2 words: ROAD TRIP!!!! *whistles* BTW I’m over 18 but am really much younger at heart.

Jay-Z great to see ya! Unfortunately, I’m gonna be away this sunday (dayem) but I’ll surely be around the next. By then of course kevsta will be there with his track and Tim will also zip by.

BTW that lancer evo MR01 just got sold. Poo. But I found another place that sells mini-z’s, xtreme hobbies which is located just 200m from UNSW…..they have 2 RX7 FC3S, an F1, and 2 overlands for sale there. At prices starting from 200 bucks, it’s a ripoff 🙁

dgs73: no worries, you’re not missing much, the first vid is just an indoor carpet track…..perhaps 6m x 2m, sparesly arranged with green sheets and racing flaps to simulate grassy land. Basically, they race 8 cars at a time composed of porsches, GTRs, nsx’s, C5s and a lone F355 (gasp! no supra or vipers?! a crime!). the buzzer goes, music starts, and they race……

BTW i’ve got a ton of vids from HK to toronto, almost 130 megs worth. Pity i don’t have a cd burner :). Hong Kong has this top champion called Ah Keng or Ken for short….his Z,a Ferrari Modena MR01 has won countless feats and he represented HK in Kyosho’s mini-z cup asia. BTW the top players in HK use an unheard of handwound motor that delivers 45kmph….gotta get hold of one of ’em.

BTW here’s the next best MIA F1 video

    http://www.dgrracing.com/~mia-f1/video/Rd2_F1_A_FINAL.wmv

This time their using F1’s and the layout has been slightly altered to have more hairpins and straights. And yes, they’re yet again on stock motor with 6t. They even have a warmup round before racing, and actual pit stops in between (well, battery changes anyway). The mclarens and ferraris rule!

talldude, some bad news mate….the iwaver potentiometer is slightly bigger than the kyosho one. Dispite this, the servo gears are the same size, teeth and shape; but the pot is bigger so it doesn’t fit on a kyosho gear replacement 🙁

I’ve heard Iwaver have their own servo gear replacements, and it looks like that’s the only way ur servo may be fixed.

Tim: I agree that we should meet the melbournites sometime. They seem to have more experience than us, and the more ppl the merrier. Perhaps we should all pile into buses and visit melbourne for the weekend…and race em’.

BTW i’ve heard of an experienced stock racer using just Xspeed and 7t to pull more laps than a PNso1 Fetted Z! Apparently, the extra speed made for extremely taxing cornering.

I have virtually no memory of what it’s like to run stock motor and 6t. Perhaps i should try that…..but DAMN it’s gonna be slow as slugs.

Did u see the taisan porshe and skyline? they are so damn good, fastest line EVERY CORNER. They use Futaba 3pk’s i think – apparently they have adjustible step control, throttle proportion, and many other things.

For stock motor and 6t, the z is literally so slow u can control it better….i think?

yep. I’ve yet to experience a Z on ozite, but from what i hear, spinouts are a rarity since the grip factor on those carpets is like 150%.

Their barriers (some green sorta flat stuff with racing flaps) are so easy to abuse, i’m surprised none of ’em decided to cross country their way to victory. Yeah there were some beams to hold em down, but still….;)

tim, wide tyres are the ones for the rear of ur nsx and also for a few others, the clk, ferraris, porshe taisan, taisan viper, and some others. the front are mainly normal i guess…….

talldude, the iwaver just needs a new tie servo gear….it ain’t dead yet. I’ll get u one at hobbyco mmkay? but the stock ones, can’t really afford the delrin ones yet.

Just something between Z’ers, we gotta stick together sometimes. bsides, i’d hate to think that both ur monster and iwaver have missing things for now.

I’m surprised that iwaver has lasted this long; i’d have suspected kyosho to have summoned scotland yard for this:) still it’s pretty good value, considering that parts on it are bound to be the same parts u’d change on a normal Z anyway.

kevsta: woohoo, an actual race with boundaries is taking place in 2 weeks. Can’t wait 😀

    hope that helps?

err, L shape? Maybe a bit plain but ur right, we should have a go first.

I was thinking of something like timber; wooden dowels cost about the same and I use it for barring windows, however some miniz raceways use nothing BUT timeber (go to miaf1.com their wooden barriers for miniz f1s are tight but challenging)

Talldude: Ur iwaver has a few problems to it: when I installed the rear shock i unscrewed the stock motor mount kit and the place where those 2 screws attach the front piece to the back are cracked. The plastic used in these is a more brittle type of styrene….so i swapped it around with your alu motor mount. Also, i resoldered the arial wire to it’s ring (initially a poor job, but now ok i guess) and now need to change the Tie servo gear. Unfortunately i’m out of those, but dgs73 i remember had a brand new back of DELRIN ones and they last longer than stock white plastic. I just been to hobbyco and they have stock servo gears for 11.95 or rcrm delrin ones for 23.95. It’s your call 🙂

BTW the iwaver has a strange habit of sometimes not responding to the radio signal (perhaps 1/4 of the time), even when i resoldered the wire.
