Some cars just don’t have them (so far, it looks like the Supra doesn’t). You may want to check out the “crip caps for cars w/o crip caps” (or something like that) thread. It’s looking pretty good for people that don’t have the obvious cripple cap.

    LOL…

There is a Perth in UK (Scotland?). Chances are Perth (UK) was around WAY before Perth (AUS). After all, you (and USA) copy most of England’s names (Christ, there’s a London in USA too! Who are they Trying to kid?)… The Names come from when The British Empire used to run-things (Some drunk-ass sailor was probably home sick and thought by calling a Settlement a British name he would feel closer to home).

for tire, i recommend trying to hand fit choro-q tires. as for gears, i looked through the slots of the pull back mechanism and saw some gears that looked similar to digiq’s. maybe you could use them.

    Hey darrynsretrorc

Any news about a different charger for the 3.6V battery in the car?? I brought my battery yesterday from Jaycar, and the car flies, but i only get really small runtime, so i think a new charger is needed 🙂 Are just using the normal charger at the moment? Did you do anything to it? Does your charge light come on when you charge it ??

Also Shonky i brought one of the 2.4V like you said, just wondering how you got it in there lol … any pics yet ?? Would be greatly appreciated

Any other information about these 2 batteries (SB1606 and SB1608) and how to charge them would be great, and also any other batteries that will fit into these little cars. At jaycar, these are the only 2 batteries i could see would fit without having to do too much

Thanks guys, will wait for your replies 🙂

That’s right. It was Tower that showed Sept. I’m not anxiously awaiting them, so I forgot that the word you got was August.

Just so you know, it doesn’t matter which way you put the cap in. A capacitor is simply two plates with an insulator in between. The plates build up a charge on them (positive on one plate, negative on the other). The size of the plates determine the capacitance (i.e. 104 pF is what you soldered, 1 F is larger than a soda can).

i pulled that capacitor off a few days ago and i didnt notice any change in the range. i will try replacing it with a piece of wire soon. also my friends 35mhz spec ed skyline has the cripple capacitor AND the giant green cap on C3.he got 15ft range after pulling the cripple cap off. we then tried taking the giant green cap off and replacing it with a 104 cap. this dropped his range down to 5 feet or so. also this link has electrical diagrams of the controler http://hammer.prohosting.com/~oba8/bit/ according toit, C3 is part of the charging circuit! i have not compared my controller to the diagram yet but i will.

here is a pic of what needs to be removed. its off the site i posted in the first post

i replaced that with a capacitor with 104 printed on it. i got itfrom radio shack, part # 272-135. It is a0.1?F 50V Hi-Q Ceramic Disc Capacitor. It cost 99 cents for 2 of them. Just unsolder the green cap and solder in the new cap. I put the new cap in with the print facing to the left (away from the blue antenna wire). Iam not sure if that matters or not.
