The yokomos just came out with a VW Beetle that looks like the DigiQ models. Its considerably smaller than the PY-01 and PY-02. Anyone know if this one is new and improved?

Id really love to see how you layed out the 3 cells to fit in your bit… Im guessing one inside, one on top (rear window)and one outside (wheelie bar)? Man, that must be fun to run in a wide open space… 😉

You know you can always switch to NiMH cells and get a 20-25 minute runtime on 135 second charges. Take a look at the mod section in http://www.questformadness.com and click into the NiMH Upgrade mod.

I’ve had a Tin-car fo a while.. two actually… both started off as two relay mods, now one has 3 relay mod, and the other is a bit of a parts car 🙂

But, I need a new motor, mine is stuffed I think… doesn’t go fast any more 🙁

I also just bought myself a D-camera, so will be taking some snaps….

There are 2 left (red and yellow, lanevos) at hobby place on lonsdale street (outside melbourne central) they are going for $95 each. Checked them yesterday but its a bit too expensive for my taste, anyone know where i can get some for cheaper price?

I did the exact thing as you snopyy, i have an evo7 that is red, and upgraded the engine to a 2.6, which runs for about two minutes-the car has no mods, have you installed the engine correctly? make sure the metal tab is in the right position,the shorttutorialshould come with your car manual, maybe the aa batteries in your controllerneed to be replaced, my car ran only for a minute then ran for 2minutes and over when i changed the batteries.

Hey snoopy,

I have just recently put a 3.0 motor into my Evo. I was getting about 2-3 minutes with a double charge. One 45 second charge does not give your battery a full charge. I then tried using a RC Line SuperNova 250s peak detection charger. I removed the charge attachment from the Bit transmitter and connected it to the charger. I charged it at 1amp. The charge took 4 minutes and gave me about 10 minutes run time. I also used this charger with a 1.0 motor and was getting 20 minutes plus run times ( lots of time to score goals in bit soccer ).

Well….when I hit the boost button, it instantly wipes out on a smooth floor. On carpet it will wheelie for a good metre or so before settling down or hitting something! Had to fit an anti wheelie bar at the back to control it. Its really quick….but not as controllable as my 2 battery Bit.

Souds like the magnet in the front of the car is backwards. just open up the just open up the circut bord and you will see that the front is scewed on. open it and you will see a magnet in the middle just flip it and try to center it and you shuold be fine. I think that someone posted pictures someplace on thissite.

Actually, 3 meters isn’t too bad for the 4 band controller. One way to improve the range is to change the antenna to a telescoping antenna. Also, you could swap antennas with one of the regular controllers (the box type), but that assumes you have a spare regular controller.

put the antenna threw the front window so its longer and attach it to a tooth pick that increased my range by at least 10 ft
