Micro, which site did you order from? Was it http://www.minibimmersusa.com ?
Actually GT, the runtime will decrease because the current drain will increase.
From ohms law. I=V/R, as R decreases I will increase.

GT, who is your supplier? What’s the min order qty?

Thanks for all your work mate, it doens’t go unnoticed.:)
Cheers,

Aaron, I have the same issue as 8chEssVee.

Dude, well done on an excellent mod. Are the FET’s the same IRLML2502 type stated on the German page? Can I buy some of ’em off you?:D

Thanks man. I brought a pcb into work (’cause I’m that sad, lol.) and will look at it today….I’ve got a LED flasher circuit that only needs two trannies and a few resistors and one cap. I need a pnp and a npn for this circuit so it should be OK. This circuit will drive the indicator lights….
I’m gonna rip ’em out of the H-bridge of one of my clone pcb’s and go from there.
*ph2t get’s ready to burn plastic*
lol.
Wow, didn’t know about that one. I was gonna hook it into the H-bridge on the motor circuit and drive the on/off functions from there.
Micro, what’s the pin layout of the bipolar trannies on the RX pcb? Is it just C-B-E with the Base being on the single side and the other two C & E pins on the other side?

SMD = Surface Mount Device, this is a really small version of the same thing. All of the electronics in the receiver of the Bit Char-g are SMD bar a few devices. SMD means you don’t need to drill holes through the board to solder on the other side, hence the phrase “surface mount”.
🙂

No switch, it will run off the main supply. Hopefully there will be some electronics to control the lights when going fwd, rev, left, right, etc…..
They are SMD’s, rated at 40mCd @ 20mA. They come in a pack of ten from Jaycar. I’m using the 1.2V -> 3V converter IC from one of my clone pcb’s to be able to drive these LED’s. With the newer 150mAh+ batts out there power drainage *shouldn’t* be a problem.

Is your friend’s car a clone or the real deal? Clones are known to have great range. Otherwise is your friend’s freq higher than yours? ie: he’s running 40MHz and you’re on 27MHz? These are the only two *legal* frequencies for Australia. I’ve found that higher freq cars have a greater range out of the box, but then again this could be because they have been tuned better than the other freq’s. See Micro_amps’ posts in my “Crip cap in the car” mod for more info about this…
They can’t spread the freq’s out more due to restrictions on what TOMY can legally run these cars on in Japan. Hence the extra selections in the 27MHz band……

3*27 and 3*49 equals 6 cars running at one time….
Seems that they might have changed the design of the receiver on the car to be more “selective” on what frequency it responds to. eg A=27.08, B=27.12, C=27.16 in Mhz. This is just an example, don’t take these freq’s as kosher…..
I’ve got a 20Mhz crystal, and I’m currently trying out some theories to get my 27Mhz RX7 MS to operate at 20Mhz giving me an extra freq for my Gran Prix, lol! :smiley2:

Good stuff……..
Good stuff……..
Well I placed my order on Sat and today I got an email saying it’s now on it’s way so here’s counting………….:shy:
So what’s the story morning glory?
That’s cool jamie, just ask’in. 😉
Micro, get your own thread, lol! This is jamie’s!
:approve:
Looks like I’ve got competition for my springs, :smiley16:.

4 days hey? Cool………..:smiley2: I *was* hoping that their delivery time would be better for AUS than the US.
Thanks Kev, how did you find out about the ZIP .vs postcode issue?
