    Guys

    (written with irony :smiley2:)
When do you expect these toys to increase their value, and what amount are you expecting to reach?
Give it a year or two and I guess we will find your rare cars on Ebay. Or, what are your plans??

I?ve been thinking that I would like to own those rare cars, but I always wake up when I find that I don?t have any specific reason for buying them more than that they are…rare…right now.

Will anyone remember these in the near future?

Please, give me your view of this, I?m curious (you might even persuade me to hunt down the rare ones…). :p

I think that SurfmyStrat started a nice, different topic with this one 🙂
At least we now are sure that red cars do go faster, so many people know of this so I hereby state that it?s the truth!

Has the Cyclonas made it through the legal parts?? Sounds strange if they operate on illegal frequencies.

The Lancer is OK! Why should it be changed?

Red cars really do go faster, I think I read an essay about that some time ago…:smiley2:

So far, the red Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 is my favourite.

I?ll have to kick my butt to start building my 1988 Toyota Celica to get the ultimate Bitbody :smiley2:.

Your car is a clone, an OEM char-g car.

It seems like every country these days have a couple of different clones available.
I import and sell the original TOMY cars here in Sweden, and I think I?m the only one. But last week I heard that a toystore in town had some micro cars for sale, so I went there to have a look. Yet another clone! I bought one just to examine it and then return it when I would find out that it didn?t work alright. Damn! It was a catch!
I got myself a 40 MHz OEM car that functions PERFECT! And the price is ridiculous, US$ 15.
What do I tell my customers when they ask me why the TOMY cars costs 3 times more? Until now I?ve had no problems saying that the TOMY cars costs more but they do function the way they?re meant to…

Oh well, I still think that if I?d have bought one more clone it would have been terrible…or…!?

I agree with bitcharguk, they do suck overall. I bought two of them to evaluate, the first one didn?t even wanna start! I did pull it apart but couldn?t find anything to do.
The other bike does function alright, but there?s no way to control it so you can drive it in a track. Going full speed (they?re quick) and turning makes the bike…fall down. To be able to control it upon turning you have to let go of the speed long before you want to turn (and I haven?t seen anyone of us with THAT large tracks).

IF you?re a hardcore bikefan, try to get hold of a bike that does function, then I guess you?ll like to put it on the shelf at least.

Thanks for the kind words, but I don?t think you need any specific skills or tools to accomplish a track like this. Just browse around for some ideas on what material to use, then buy some nails, glue etc and grab a hammer and a saw! Almost done :smiley1:

Since i finished this track I have been trying to figure out how to build a track based on modules, and I hope I have found the way now. Hopefully I will be able to try out my ideas in the near future.
The system, if it works, will bring the possibility to rebuild your track within minutes, and still offer the feeling of a one-piece track. Hard to understand?
Well, I guess I have to start building and shoot some pictures to explain myself…:smiley5:

    OK, here are the results:

The TOMY lapcounter does NOT count a lap when the Bit Char-G antenna passes!
I added a small”flag” to the antenna and drove past the counter and got a positive result. According to this “test” it should be possible to come up with a lap counter system for multiple cars.

    Some problems though:
    1. The antennas on the Char-G?s are very weak and tend to bend down and/or sway upon driving, especially when you add a “flag”. Onthe booster car I use I have added a second wire so I?ve got a double wire antenna. This solution makes the antenna construction a little more stable.
    2. If we are going to use 4 lap counters (#1 at the bottom- #4 on top)on top of eachother, the flag on car #4 will end up way up in the air. One lap counter is approx. 8 cm high which makes 4 lap counters end up at approx. 32 cm up in the air. The flag on car #4 would need to be placed somewhere around 1 ft up…:smiley6:Try to imagine how that car would be to drive in corners!

Onesolution to the above mentioned problem could be to build two “lap lanes”. In each lane you then place a construction of 2 lap counters on top of eachother, and the corresponding cars have to pass through “their” lane. Piece of cake, ehhh…!!! :smiley4:

    Other ideas anyone??? Corrections???

I doubt that this would work.
In your sketch,I guess that the antenna from the left car will add one lap not only to it?s own lap timer, but to all the others too.
I have yet not tried how much is needed to break the IR beam, but I?m afraid that the antenna itself is enough for the TOMY lap timer.

The 4 ch booster controller works on any Bit, there?s a switch at the back of the controller where you indicate what kind of fubction you want:
    1. Booster (push the booster button to activate the boosterfunction, only for booster cars)
    2. Full speed (no booster function, full speed all the time)
    3. Normal Bit (allows you to control any bit, but no booster function of course)

No idea of how thefunction works though…:smiley5:

It is a Lap counter too…you can switch between lap or time.
Set a desired number of laps to race and do it in the best possible time, or…
Set a desired time to race, and complete as many laps as possible during this rime.

Still not sure whether it?s worth it or not… :smiley5:

For all you interested, here?s my little review of a little test covering TOMY?s original Char-G?s, 4 different OEM?s and NIKKO?s I-Racer. I drove the cars in a straight line, 1.95 metres long to find out the differences in speed. Here are the results:

TOMY: Toyota Celica silver 27 MHz

By far the best car in this “test”. The handling is superb, this car does exactly what I tell it to do. The included 1.0 motor is useless for racing (unless you have a track on your desk) & will be replaced A.S.A.P. The only backside of the car is the range. This car begins to stutter at approx. 5 ft, and that makes it impossible to use it at my track, “Hill Raceway”. How come its?this bad? Motor: Blue 1.0

    Speedstrip: 3.46 sec

OEM TT TREE (HONG): Toyta Celica Safety 45MHz (it says 27 MHz on the box!)

This car looks like a TOMY original at first, the box is 95% the same as the the original. What is different is the missing TOMY logo, one added TT logo and the fact that the car is striped with logos. On the box it says 27 MHz, but the car actually is a 45 MHz (please TT, if you?re going to copy, at least provide the correct info!) The car is impossible to drive in a straight line, while tested at the speedstrip i finally made it crash into the lap counter for the clock to stop! (if the car would have been able to drive in a straight line the time would have been under 3 sec.) Motor: Yellow 2.2

    Speedstrip: 6.00 sec

OEM BULLET ST: Peugeot 206 white 27MHz

Sometimes it turns the wheels by itself, which makes it kind of hard to race around in a track. This is in my opinion a very good looking chassi, fine details and the rear window doesn?t have a big hole for the antenna like many of the others, just a tiny one enough for the antenna. It?s a quick racer, so I don?t believe it?s a 1.0 motor after all. Motor: Blue 1.0?

    Speedstrip: 2.10 sec

OEM LIGHT-UP: Peugeot 205? silver 40MHz (the description at Toyeast is Celica!)

The chassi is fixed to the body by screws, it has ugly wheels (strange dimensions compared to all the others). The included light is a quite crappy LED in the roof, what?s the purpose? The turning is, as in the case of so many of these OEM?s, bad. One nice thing is that it?s a quick motor, but I can?t tell what kind it is. Motor: White

    Speedstrip: 2.03 sec

OEM TREASURE: Mitsubihi Lancer red 57MHz

This car uses a “pistol” to steer the car around, just like the NIKKO I-RACER (below). When I first opened the box and held the controller in my hand I thought: OK, another crappy OEM. Compared to the NIKKO controller this one offered an extremely plastic feeling.

BUT, when all parts had been fixed and the car were tested for the first time I really changed my mind. The range for the controller is some 24-30 ft, the car handles very well and the included motor is a quick, unknown mark. The grip is not one of best I?ve seen, many donuts here! Backside is that it?s only available in this frequency, lame! Motor: Pink

    Speedstrip: 2.36 sec

NIKKO I-RACER: Subaru Impreza frequency #5

This car is FAST! It uses another method of steering, two motors at the rear wheels. Upon turning one motor stops which causes the car to turn that way. This method makes it difficult to use the car at a track, since when you steer the car one motor stops, which forces you to accelerate the car to get round the curve. When you release the steering wheel the car suddenly uses both motors which gives…max speed! Not easy, I can tell you. This car doesn?t work at my track, quite impossible to use at the kitchen floor too, all donuts!

    Speedstrip: 1.92 sec

Conclusion: I?d recommend TOMY?s original cars for fantastic handling. Suggestions are to add a quicker motor and to buy some OEM?s and use the parts, chassis, motors, tires etc. I guess that all the OEM?s steering and handling can be improved by opening up the car for adjustments of the steering parts, but I don?t think that first buyers wants to start with these surgical operations when they first open the box. For all you others, why not!

Just wondering as I sit here with my i-Racer in front of me, how the h*ck do you charge the Treasure car? The char-G cars are supposed to be approx. 2 cm longer than the i-Racer, and thecharge compartment for the i-Racer is just enough for the i-Racer(I haven?t been able to pay at Toyeast with my Mastercard so I haven?t recived any char-G cars yet for comparison ).

Anyone out there with more info?
