I agree. I would even be willing to through in a car for a prize. Maybe an internal dual cell with fets, a 3.8, and 3:1 gearing. It would be made for no maintnance, so all you have to do is through it on something that could charge a dual cell and go. I could check the store for digi-q charger. That’s what I use to charge most of my duall cells. I could take the charge pad off the car’s charger and put it on the digi-q charger.
Couldn’t have said it better betty-k. We’re skeptical for obvious reasons. Charge, you’ve been around long enough to know there are people who claim all kinds of useless stuff. You’ll most likely just loose credibility if you can’t back up something as spectacular as increasing sbcg range. Especially since there are many bit wizards who have worked on this for far too long and come up with nothing. Besides, you’re also saying that you just found out that your super bcg goes faster than a normal bcg. The world at large already knows that it was faster than a bcg before any modding.
So, anymore news on this? If I subscribe, can I upload pics from my computer or an online site? Can’t use webshots anymore. It’s causing problems on my computer.
That pic on page one is good, but I can’t tell what terminal some of the wires are going to. Maybe a quick drawing?
Got the fets in the mail today. Looks good, as usual from ph2t. Any chance of getting a good picture on how to install them? I’m not sure wich wire goes where.
Dudes, thanx for all the helpful info. This is good stuff. I’m definately going to pick up some foam tires. Do they make slick tires for 1/64 slot cars? What about motors? What kind of motors do they use?
No offense, but I’m calling you on this one. Prove it.
Yeah, I usually just use the body and the chassis from the sbcg. It’s kinda sad isn’t it?
Mine too, but I think it’s cause I can’t remember my password. I did input it three times and it stopped trying, so I may have gotten it right.
Yeah, I got a super perfection recently and two solder joints were loose, the body had scratches on the top and the charger didn’t work at all. I fixed the solder joints and the scratches, but I never could get the charger to work. Oh, also, One of the steering coils had come unglued. Fixed that too. Thank god I had an extra charger and knew how to fix this stuff. It would have really sucked to have just been getting into this stuff and recieve a car like that. It runs good now. I’ve since dual celled it, fet modded it and gave it a few other things.
This is the only perfection car that showed up like this. All the others work just fine, except one does have a short in the controller’s charger due to too much solder. I’ll fix that when I’m not too busy. They’re usually better cars than most of the other clones, and I prefer them over super bcg because the range is much better.
I do have another gripe about them actually. When I mod them to go faster, I think the return spring, for the steering, is not tight enough or something, because when they get going fast, they’ll jerk to the left or right suddenly. I have to either put another spring on it or change the steering bar thingy with one from a different car.
That’s really odd. I’ve never heard of a stock bit or zz that just stop working, and then it’s not something simple. The only other idea I have is to look at the pcb and see if any of the components where knocked loose. Sorry I couldn’t be of more use.
Check the wires when you’re in there. Specifically the red and the black ones.
Sounds like a connection from the battery to the pcb is loose or off completely. If so, then all you need to do is resolder it. Have you checked all the wires inside it? Or you could try this;
Take the battery out and clean the battery connection pieces and the battery with a pencil eraser. Sometimes it gets a little corrosion on it. I doubt it’s that, but maybe just taking the battery out and reseating it will fix it.
Have you done any modifications to it yet?Basically, if it charges, but doesn’t run, then there is most likely a problem somewhere between the battery and the pcb. If it charges and the front wheels turn, but the back wheels don’t turn, then it’s a problem with the motor. If it runs while on the charger, then it’s a problem with the battery terminals inside the car or the batteries themselves. When it’s on the charger, it’s using the charger’s batteries to run the car, not the cars battery.
I think we could narrow the problem down. Let me know. I’ll keep an eye on this.
That’s one of the smoothest paint jobs I’ve seen put on a bit. Is that clear coat? If so, what kind?
HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU??! Good work! Especially on that celica. I can’t wait to try those biffs out.
Is it a SE or original ZZ? This happened to me with a ZZSE. I took of the front piece of plastic (unscrewed) inside, on top of the pcb and it worked fine. Somehow it must have been pushing on something just the right way to short a component. That’s just a guess, but it works now.
Are you from the P.I. Freak? I was just over there.
If the pcb is the same, then do it like a bcg. If not then I would send one to MA and study it carefully. I’ve never seen any info on fet modding a precious clone. I’ve never asked though either. Good luck.
I’ve been looking too. I ended up just buying cheap cars that use them and taking them out of those cars.
Thanx man. Appreciate the help.
So……..hurry up and put them up for sale………dammit!:p
Please get a speed check. I’m especially interested in this project. I tried single fetted, single cell with 3:1 before, but it didn’t amount to too much. It didn’t have enough torque. So I threw in an extra cell and it works good. It hits about 14~15mph within 12~15ft.
So this experiment should be educational. The bit racers, like you said, use 3:1’s, BUT they don’t have a pcb eating up all the energy. They’re just a battery, a motor and some wheels without a steering system. So they’re lighter too. If this triple fet thing works out, I’ll have to try it.

No, where can I find that? The pic at te top just says “forbidden” when I try to access it.
Unfortunately, I was using webshots originally. That’s the one that says “forbidden”. I reloaded the software to my computer but it still doesn’t work. Also, my photo gallery wont take my pics either. Hey, if I subscribe, will this problem go away? I read about being able to upload pictures directly from my computer. Is that in place yet? I’m kinda clueless about the whole thing though. I’ve been away for so long.
