    Are you always lucky?

    Two case:
    1. you give-up play Mini RC after you try iWaver with a lot of iWaver upgrade parts.
    2. you want to pay more to get the real Mini-Z from Kyosho after you try iWaver.

For me, I want the QC..

    Good Luck….

    hi all…

new to micro.. fiddle with 1/10 nitro but am finding the whole ‘process’ of getting it out takes up abit too much time. So am looking into micro as it’d be great fun at work(we have a rather large warehouse) so I’m trying to convince some of the other guys at work to get micro’s too 😀 My question is about radio’s? Are the radio’s preset or can i change crystals like a normal 1/10 am radio. I’d like too see one in a shop but i haven’t found a HS in my end of melbourne that has them in the flesh.

    el 🙂

For Kyosho Mini-Z, it is using AM27 or AD(FM24). So you can change crystal and TX for AM. For the AD you need KO-Pro EX1 or EX10 with AD module.
Here is some information for you:
    Kyosho: http://www.kyosho.co.jp/
    KO-Pro: http://www.kopropo.com/Mini-Z.htm
    KO-Pro AD: http://www.kopropo.co.jp/html/forMinitz.html
    RC-Mart: http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=144_21

    Enjoy!:smiley9:

It is a 90mm body, same as RX-7 (1mm offset); and it is lighter than RX-7; and the CG is better.
For the handling, which is a little bit better than RX-7.

Thanks for the replies guys, i really dont think my problem is with the charging or the batteries, i have several chargers (LRP Competition 2) ( super nova 250s) (Novak ionic). Unfortunately i have only one mini z (so cannot compare with another)and i run on my indoor carpet track which is also quite fast, so thinking because car spends most of the time full throttle with vertually no wheel spin which equates to heaps of current draw. If the iwaver motor is no good then, what motor should i get? The standard AWD motor was way to slow for my liking or my track.

So, do you want to find out the problem? Do something..:smiley9:
Do you have dis-charge your batteries?
How many mAh can charge into your batteries?
    How old is your batteries?
Try another set of batteries for find out is the batteries problem or not.
Try another motor (stock) for find out is the motor problem or not.
Try another Mini-Z for find out is the PCB problem or not.

If your AWD PCB doesnot had power upgrade modify, you can try Atomic AWD stock or 130 stock; if you done upgrade, try PN-S03, PN-S04 or Atomic T2.:approve:

By the way, if you are play alone, time is not a matter; just go to charge your batteries and play again. But I don’t think you just have one set of batteries..

that is rather expensive ken! i dont think i could warrant spending $50 aud for a set… i guess ill have to wait and see about the cheaper i-waver alternatives…

Ture! It is too expensive to me too, if I buy them, I may keep them for display…:clown:

also, apart from kyoshos x-speed for AWD is there any other motors available for the the awd yet? i tried fitting in my pn motor but it seems to be a little to big to fit into the motor bay, and when i compare the motors the awd one seems to be a little slimmer than normal ones…

alo these light kits look awesome, totally unecisary but awesome!

We are using Atomic Stock, AWD Stock, they are design for NO power upgrade PCB (you can get more power with FET or Turbo), and they are good too. You can get them from RC-Mart.

Also, have you try to use other motor case for your PN motor?

And what gears are you using, do you have overheat motor problem?:gatlin:

I had try this rear gear box case, it is not fit with other Kyosho parts, if you design to get it, you may need the completed set.:smiley11:

whats a set of those tugu rims worth ken, i dont have any japanese skills whatsoever… some of them are very nice indeed!

id like to know how expensive they are in comparison to the i-waver alloy rims for AWD being released.

also, im still very keen to get a part next time you order (the kyosho titanium drive shaft for AWD).

I do order thing from Japan monthly….:smiley9:
For the Tugu rims, it is 2250yen for 2pcs, and size or offset. (~AUD25.80)

I had use the “SQUARE” alloy rims for MR-01 (picture), which price is 3 times higher than 3racing or topcad alloy aims, but it is bigger (20mm) and lighter, also very good handling.:D

    What charger are you using?
Do you have dis-charge your batteries?
Do you have try your AWD with normal motor or Kyosho X-Speed with that GP950? Does the run time are 5-8 mins too?
Do you have try to put that GP950 to other normal Mini-Z to test? Does the run time is 5-8 mins too?
Do you have try other set of GP950 on the same Mini-Z? (from same charger)
Also, if you don’t want to burn your AWD PCB, please donot use any i-Waver motor.

that alloy wheels are bigger than the Kyosho wheels (18.5 – 19.mm), so the top speed is faster.

    http://www.mini-z-bar.com/
Select “TuGu” on the left hand side, under the “Special”

Not just for AWD, they have a lot of nice wheels for MR-02 and MR-015 too.

good choice but, dayum!! $28usd?? i’m sure they’re half that price on rcmart.
ph2t has one and it works well for him. just be sure to buy atomic brand spur gears when it comes time to replace them, other brands won’t fit.:8ball:

Ture! Atomic ball diff for MR-02 is US$23.90 on RC-Mart
    http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=144_21_757_71_466
Also you can fit the Kyosho spur gear to Atomic ball diff too.

The best ball diff for racer
    Kyosho Ball Diff (MZW206) 3360yen
    Kyosho Ceramic ball (WBD10) 3150yen
    Kyosho Titanium Shaft (MZW209) 2100yen
    Total 8610yen ~ AUD$99.0115
    http://www.kyosho.co.jp/web/race/miniz_cup/option/index-j.html

Or Atomic (2nd best) for player
    http://www.rcatomic.com/main/modules/news/article.php?storyid=88
but you need the Kyosho Ceramic ball (WBD10) as option

And iWaver ball diff (Xth best)

BUT, not GPM, 3Racing or Topcad MR-02 ball diff and ball diff parts, because they are not the copy from Kyosho ball diff, may not fit to your motor mount.

I rebuild my ball diff every 20 to 25 packs (15mins/pack) of batteries

While I’m at it !! Here’s some pix of a friends car that I was suppose to post a while ago !! :shy:

In the first pic I know the R32 is not an AWD but, who could resist a line up of GTR’s like this !!! :smiley1:

His car has the following mods so far !!

    Full BB’s
BB motor can with AWD X-speed rotor and NEO magnets
    Clear Blue chassis
    Shooter drive cups
    C/F centre shaft
Blue alloy motor mounts and cover
    5×2 fet stack
    lowered 1mm all round

I have a question about the old GTR R34 and the new GTR R34 body, which is harder and stonger? Because I had old R34, but it is very easy to break, do the new one better?:smiley12:
Also on the handling, which one is better? (in same setting of AWD)

    Thanks..:smiley9:

The Grey and Blue chassis not just harder, you will feel your AWD has better handling too. But it is a big operation!
It can be apply on MR-01 and MR-02 too.

    And

The Kyosho MDW009 Hard Universal Swing Shaft(MINI-Z AWD/2pcs) just released on Feb 2, I hope it will be better than Atomic or 3Racing.

As Ken says Whitebodies are out for pretty much everything. Kyosho has never released anything on my list except the two Subarus and two different lancers.

I just think it’d be nice to have cars that matched the AWD, but were also “new” bodies not the older ones re-released.
