Naah. ‘Chris’ sucks. I asked if I could just have a 30 second look.
Chris : “Sorry Sir.”
It’s only toys! And don’t call me ‘Sir’ nerd!
BOO! :dead: 😀I borrowed a pass and had a look around today.
Was the JNH stand ‘protected’ by some nerd behind a counter? Some guy stopped me from going in there.
Yeah count me in. I’d like to see a real deal mini-z in action.
FET mod it is then!
You have mail micro 🙂

Yep the two holes are for the motor terminals. Things could get ugly if I try replacing the fets. I don’t really know what I’m doing.
Here’s a pic. Sorry about the quality.
The motor still goes backwards when I switch the wires, so it must be the PCB somewhere.
I’ll take some pics later when I get home.
My Supra shell received an Atomic Wedgie the other day. Nasty chunk taken out of the windscreen.
Might try a pushup fridgebra instead.
Those offroad tyres with the wheel extensions look pretty cool.

Boo! Hiss!
Nice one 🙂 exactly what I was after. Thanks.
I thought I might have dropped them when I opened the box. But no 🙁
ToyEast need to watch their quality control.
I got some RC planes in the same order – and one of them was already used and semi-assembled, and was missing the battery box from the transmitter.
Yep I’d pay $12. If I got a sticker 🙂
😀 FIXED!
Thanks for the tips about the enamel – never would have realized I needed to do that. Took me ages to get those copper strands working – must have unwound about 1/4 of the coil (kept breaking!). But it’s all working again, and I got the extra battery hooked up. Dual cell is nutzo – totally uncontrollable and cool. Whoo!
I’ll have to get one of my lxx boosters fet modded soon.
This is turning into a nightmare. I’ve just snapped one of the black strands (down near the coil) – can I just unwind some more from the coil? Or does this mess up the steering?
… I did get to see it run on 2 cells for a few sweet seconds. And holy crap it was cool 🙂
Not a bad days worth of damage for someone who’s barely done any soldering before.
Thanks everyone 🙂
Santa went nutzo at Jaycar… I got heaps of rechargeable batteries.
So now I can run EVERYTHING at once.
Balloons! Balloons! Balloons!
I’ll try a water balloon.
Cut out lights like that magnificent Skoda in the photo would be cool :p
Not a Peugeot. The grill isn’t right.
My pathetic guess is a Satria GTi that’s been backed into a wall.
Yep. I’m sending at least one car to MicroAmps to get fet modded. And will keep my Tomy to experiment on myself. It’s already pretty trashed, so I won’t get too upset if I wreck it completely – which is probable.
Just waiting for my batteries to come in from ToyEast …. then the madness begins 👿
I had a bit of a look, but could only find massive Nokia batteries. I guess I could tape one onto the top of my car 😀 :dead:
I’ve decided to take the plunge and get some of my other cars FET modded – cause I know it will take forever for me to get this dual cell working.
If I ever find this magical battery – can I just charge it with 4 x AAs?
This sounds like a much better option (for me anyway) than soldering up an extra battery and trying to work out how to fit it in the car.

Ah ok. I thought there might be a battery the same size as the stock BCG battery, but with double the power. But I guess that would be too easy.
What mAh is best?
Is 800 for the AAAs and 1200 for the AAs ok? -
