The Kyosho product number seems to be 30450, or 30450B, at least in Germany anyway… Maybe the B stands for RM, or MM or whatever.
There’s one on http://www.eBay.de
And also at http://www.mini-zshop.de:thumbs_up:
Thanks.
And stickers – XXSmall.
And maybe some big stickers for our 1:1s.
That’s a flash looking track.
“cars tend to bounce of the walls” :clap:Looks like GPM make foam tires for the F1:
http://www.the-border.com/product.php?productid=18408&cat=21&page=1And it all works!
I did a crap job dremeling out the motor plate, but it all fits in and work good.ESC gets warm (but not hot), motor gets hot, car goes fast.
Thanks ph2t, that’s some good info.
ph2t – it’s actually not as much as I thought once I added it all up… unless I’m forgetting something.
Slowstick apx $75 (comes with a decent 300 brushed motor, gearbox and prop)
Noname brushless motor and esc apx $70-80
2 x HS55 servos apx $25 each
Receiver & crystal $120Then you just need batteries.
8 cell nimh or 3 cell lipo. And a radio (mininum 3 channel). Which can cost anything depending on how much you want to spend.
merc-blue: what plane did you get?
I’m looking to setup a brushed parkflyer to make use of the brushed stuff that was in the SS.
It’s running a noname brushless motor and a noname 30 amp esc – both from ebay. Came with a gearbox for something like $70 all up.
Powered by 8 cell NIMH.Yeah I think outrunners are the way to go, I’m hoping to get one for my Cessna soon – I’ve stripped a few gearboxes from going to full throttle too quickly.
I’d forgotten how much fun playing in the dirt is 😀Well it turns out my Graupner has a bent shaft… so it’s (kinda) ok for my planes, but won’t work in the Mini-T. I can’t find any Graupner 300s locally – they were everywhere a few months ago when I got one for my plane.
What are the Venom Micro Fireballs like? I’m pretty sure they drop right into a Mini-T without having to modify the motor mount. But I’ve read some pretty ordinary things about them.
Graupner (from Dinball) or Venom from LHS?
:big: :big: :big:
Arrived today:
First impressions (with standard 4 x AAs) = pretty ordinary.
But then when I put the 6 cell in it was a different world.
Very happy with it so far. Graupner and lipo going in tomorrow. From the KT-2 TX, I’d say that’s an early MR01.
I think some were made in Japan and some in China. Something to do with white boxes and brown boxes.
I bought a Mini-T this morning (online)… might be here tmrw, but probably Monday.
$220 delivered, with some extra pinions, ‘free’ battery, and some deans plugs. Thanks for the advice everyone, I think I’ll be pretty happy when it gets here. :big:
Mr.Micro – where is your track?
Looks like Central Vic is the place to be 😀 (I’m in Maldon)
Decision made: I AM GETTING A MINI-T! whoo!
I’ve got a Graupner 300 left over from a plane crash – hopefully it’s the same motor and I can use it in a Mini-T.
I’ve also got a 2 cell lipo (7.4v) that I’m not using – anyone know if I can I use this with the stock Mini-T esc? I don’t give a crap if I fry the battery, but I don’t want to hurt a new esc.
Hmmm.. plenty of dirt and stones here.
Yeah I’ve read a few bad things about RC18Ts (glitching, gear stripping) – but so far haven’t read anything seriously bad about Mini-Ts.
OK I’ve gone and read some reviews and checked out prices, and it’s down to the Mini-T or RC18T. I kinda want a Mini-T – but the 4WD and the extra speed of the RC18T is pretty tempting.
RCMart has the RC18T for apx AUD$290ish shipped.
Dandenong hobby shop has the Mini-T for $199.I gotta spend the cash before I waste it on petrol or food 😀
Is the RC18T really that much faster than a Mini-T out of the box?
Can I use a 2 cell lipo in these cars (with the stock esc)?
I hadn’t even seen them.. they look ok – but dunno how long they would last. 4WD would be cool though.
Pity TE don’t sell just the car without the TX.
February 22, 2006 at 8:45 am in reply to: iwaver’s.. are the parts really compatible with miniz’s? #44004I think most of the parts are interchangeable, but you can get plenty of cheap iWaver spares from TE anyway.
I’ve had nothing but good experiences with iWavers. Yes they are cheap knock offs, and the quality is nothing compared to Kyosho – but for the price they are a great deal.
If you want to go carpark bashing then the iWavers are good enough. If you have a nice track to race on, then the Kyoshos are a million times better.
My Kyosho never goes outside – so it doesn’t get used much. I don’t give a crap about my iWavers, so I end up having way more FUN modding them and doing stupid stuff with them. iWaver is better value, but Kyosho is far superior quality.
Get both 🙂
Talldude – where did you get the usb camera from? I’m thinking of getting another one incase mine falls off or breaks again.
And how is the slo-v? I’m amazed that Hobbyzone (or Parkzone or whatever) can put such a decent plane together for such a bargain price… I’ve never flown one, but they look pretty good.
Jaycar is a good place for batteries (rechargeables).
http://www.jaycar.com.auIf you’re going to charge a lot of batteries you should think about getting one of those chargers than can handle heaps of batteries at once.
I wouldn’t bother with micros. Go straight to 1/28. Micros are excellent fun to mod and tinker with, but for racing – 1/28s are way more fun. Plus you don’t have to stop every few minutes to recharge your car.
For the money, iwavers are good value – and you can easily get reasonably cheap spares if you smash something. If you do get iwavers (or any 1/28) get a few spare h plates too. Don’t forget you’ll need a ton of batteries. 4xAAA per car, 8xAA per TX. Could cost more than the cars.
Only the best for me – $14 Bunnings el-cheapo.
I was thinking about getting a good’ one. But it just didn’t happen.
I’ve got a butane one somewhere. But I generally use it for plastic mutilation instead of soldering.
Hey Aaron – got any pics of the Unimog? I d love to see one of those things again. I’ve got no idea where mine went
