dude the lambo rocks, handles like a dream
another idea is maybe gaffa tape or fiber reinforced tape, its strong & absorbs impact. i’m not sure that cardboard is a good idea, it would need to be replaced a lot & be pretty hard to keep stuck down, maybe some light corflute(corrigated plastic, like cardboard but made of plastic) i was thinking ofsticking a thin strip of plastic or laminate along the edge of each peice, the only problem i can see with this is the gaps where the mats join catching on the cars & not much absorbtion…… hmmmm still thinking i guess
i’ve got the Orion Core stock motor & it’s got plenty of power & very easy to pull apart, i haven’t raced with it yet but on the test track it been pulling some pretty good times, with the right gearing & the right setup i think it will be very competitive.
also another reason for no reverse was from the old days of racing when everybody had mechanical speed controllers with the massive resistor usually mounted near the rear of the car, when the car gets stuck & a marshal goes to pick up your car from the back if you reverse when they aren’t ready then you have a very good chance of burning the marshal as the resistors get incredibly hot during racing. a lot of people get a little hesitant of picking the cars up quickly(which matters in racing)when there’s the chance of being burned, hence another reason forno reverse, but pete is right though, the main reason was to protect other cars fromcolliding(however you spell it) with you& damaging both cars
And this is the track at tempe, tuesday night racing
ok, this is the actual layout of the track for TCS at castle hill
yeah, yeah, your car ripps! Me thinks that 8 cars is a little too many for each race, next time we’ll have to get organised with heats n’ stuff, we can race for ‘the championship of the universe’, muahahahaha,VICTORY ISMINE!!!!
sweet dude, both of them are on their way. thanx for the help
hope it’s nothing too serious
cheers dude, i’m not sure who owns the lambo, just some ring in i guess, hehehe, nice drivin dude
doh, you gatto do what you gotta do.thanx to petewah the track will be big & solid, cheers dude

hey guy’s, just reading the thread & i’ve been flying for years, everything from slope soarers to big 1/5th scale gas planes & i have to admit that these little thing are heaps of fun. i scored one on ebay cheap, i had fun for a couple of days(which is lots for me) & eventually gave it to a friends son which he learnt to fly with. although there’s nothing like 3D flying it was so worth the money
good luck dude
sweet, bring your 1:10th as well, also are you racing tomorrow at castle hill?
So who’s up for racing this weekend? had so much fun last week, can’t wait for the next one
dude, it only get better as they get older, sheamazes me every day & with all my toys i’m sure she’ll be a champion R/C driver before she’s 5. at the moment she’s 3 1/2 &can only steer or accelerate, hopefully both at the same timewill come soon, hehehe
i’ve read the whole thread which is why i jumped in, just had some conflicting info to what i’ve experienced
cool, thanx for putting those up Aaron, top stuff

i don””t know if you remember but the nelly that melted on the lithium car was the one that took 2 months to deliver after i payed for it so i””m not too interested in the offer, cheers anyway dude
yeah, I apologise for that. i”ve changed the way I sell them now so I didn”t have to live my life by those bloody paypal ‘add to cart’ buttons. If you want, I”ll happliy fix those 1.3”s for you, no cost. As I said I like to think that I support my customers when shit happens, lol… just let me know if you”re interested.
cheers,
ph2t.
plus you’ve just had a little munchkin which must be mucking around with your ‘you time’ hehehe, believe me i know about that(see pic)
i’ll email you about repair’s but if its not going to handle the lithiums there’s not much point, it will just happen again

running lithium batts is pushing your luck. running an 18t(???) turn motor is asking for trouble.combine the 2 and you”ve got a recipe for disaster. even a 1:18 esc will struggle under that load.
and after all that my 4 cell would still cream you on a track!
seriously dude, a car this fast was never meant for the track, its just a straghtline car, 20secs run time at most each run. saying that is like saying my F1Ferrari will beat your Topfuel Dragster around a track, not in the same league. my track car is a MR02, alloy everything & a Speedy NM with a 7tooth, stock electronics & its not slow roundmy track, check out the videos in themini-96 trackthread, my cars are the Pajero & the blackMcLaren

yeah, i noticed that too, ooooooo……….scarey, thats a result of the reduction in size, reduce the file sizereduce the quality, bit of a trade off but at least its up
i just had another look at the nellies & they are both 1.3’s, check the pic, so i must have bought the1.3’s before the deluxe came out
woops, the second one i got, about may-ish
oh yeah, i think i bought the 1.2 before the 1.3’s came out & there was no mention of a cell limit or if it was unwise to use lithium, it was the first one i got inabout feb-march, somewhere there
to be honest, i didn’t get home till the sundaynight& i sent the email on friday morning & when i didn’t see a reply I didn’t give it another thought, also i’ve emailed you before a few times & never recieved a reply.

oh yeah, in the pic the tracks are all double width, since we have been making single width tracks 4 matson the pic equals 1 of our mats. although i’m trying to get enough mats to make the tracks double width,it’ll take about 120-130 mats, think it might be a while though pretty exy
awesome!!!! finally got the videos up, pretty bad quality but i had to keep reducing the file size till it worked, if you play it small you can get the idea. this a compilation of all the days racing so far & an example the versatility of the track shape & location(indoor, outdoor) also all the tracks were made with less than 40 mats. so at $20 for 4 if you spend about $200 you can make any of the track in the pic, can’t remember where i got the pic from
