Keen to meet up with some people in Sydney who have this same boat… Who’s done what to it, do they race, etc. If you’re reading this and you dont own one; no excuse. Go to a hobby shop and get one. Zero disappointment. OMG in a box… Dave

    Hi Dave

While I don’t race one of these they are a very good boat and a few guys in the club have them, very competive.

Heres a link to the club website http://www.modelboatclubofnsw.com it’s also worth checking out http://www.intlwaters.com for more information on tuning these things.

    Cheers

Seriously though I’m here for one more day if anybody really wants a X-Mod body let me know which one and I’ll see if I can get it.

There are a few Radio Shacks near where I’m staying.

at least you got the black one!:smiley2::8ball:

While I would normally agree with you, after seeing a number of real ones in the flesh I’ve kind of changed my tune a little bit. There was a trick black one while I was up in Utah which really changed my mind…

    Damn forgot about Meadowbank…..

This being my first plane I have nothing to compare it with, yesterday was also the first time I’d flown it.:D

It does seam to fly ok but stalls a bit in turns (more the pilot i’d say), but it gains altitude quite quickly and does fly straight after a bit of adjustment. Looks like it will take off from the ground although all my flights were hand launched. Will try to get it out during the week for some more test flights.

I basically brought it to learn as I have been considering getting into R/C Aircraft for sometime. I went to Wings N’Things and made the purchase based on their advice with the knowledge that I was looking at getting into bigger RC planes in the future and needed something cheap to get started on.

I’ll take a photo of it today, can’t find any info on it from the net. It’s made by Venom http://www.venom-racing.com but they have no infomation on their website. Spares supply looks good as Wings N”Thing have a good range of parts for it.

It’s only a basic plane, looks like a Cessna Skyhawk. 3 CH on/off engine power, plastic covered foam wings.

It’s my first plane, I’ve wanted one since I was a kid, figured a park flyer was good place to start.

    HiCh

Tough choice, I own a HPI RS4 SS and have found the car to be very reliable an a lot of fun. It handles well for what it is, a car park racer.

I will say from personal experience be wary of HPI parts supply in OZ (If you live here that is) it’s not good. So I now buy most of my parts overseas which is not a big problem.

The Kyosho is a great car also, but I was concerned about the belt drive thats why I went with the HPI which is shaft drive. There is also new version of the RS4/3 RTR kit called the EVO which brings some of the options from the SS.

The best place locally to buy HPI is http://www.radiomodels.com.au they are Perth based but offer great prices and good service.

Stock Z was a GTR is now a Ford Focus WRC.
    Soft tyres.
    Carbon H-plate.
Everything else is stock including bearings.

This car handles great and is surprisingly fast.

    Mod Z new standard chassis.
Nissan Skyline GTR Nismo Xanavi body.
    Full bearing kit.
Soft tyres on standard wide body wheels & a full set of hard tyres for basketball court runs.
    Narrow fronts,wide rears.
Also foams tyres on chrome rims.
    Narrow front, wide rear.
    Ball diff.
Used to have alloy wheel nuts they were crap so went back to the standard ones. No more lost wheel bearings.

    Rear centre shock.
    Rear roll shock kit.
Carbon H-plate. (don’t always run this)

    Front stainless steel kingpins.
    Mod sway bar.
    Camber kit.
    Toe-in kit.
    Alloy front brace.
    Various front springs.
    Lowered all round.

    xspeed motor.
special motor from HK. (need to drive better before putting this motor back in)
    Genuine Kyosho turbo.
    NiMH 750 batt.

I like both of these cars, the mod one is very fast but tricky to drive on some surfaces. But on the right surface with the right tyres 😀 very nice.

Thanks guy’s, I was hoping that someone may of found a source locally to buy them in singles.

Tried a bearing place ages ago when I first got my Z, no luck it appears to be a special built bearing for MiniZ. Typical RC.

No problem I’ll have to fork out the cash for a full set.
