its temporarily cleared up here, but at one stage more than half the backyard was under water!
could you get a pic (even if its from your phone camera) dave of the set up you use with the OL’s?
hope you get the clear weather for the weekend guys! wish i could be there!
nice to see i-waver design their own parts rtather than copying other designs tho…
Quote:trash wrote:molybdinum. Lets see… I”m sure I have some lying around here …. umm
Indium, Gold, Carbon, Magnesium, Palladium, Silver, Bismuth… nope.. not in that box 🙂
Mercury, Berylium, Aluminium, Cadmium, Arsenic… Hmmm… here”s an unlabeled metal ? . Damn… no molydbinum.
ok, you want some then trash?
lookee what came up in the corner for the google search?!

indeed, its a lavender coloured mica that can be quite solid compared to normal mica. bi carb soda eh? i scratch some off and have a go…
id like to make a fire fountain that has layers of colour, i have made many before and like you said its easier to make it explode than it is to get a nice high stable jet of fire.
that copper chloride recepe seems easily acheivable, ill give it a go as soon as the weather clears up.
will molybdinum form a chloride if mixed with a little HCl?
ok i tried mixing molybdinum powder with a combustable powder and it didnt do anything… (well the combustable went up in a flash!)
so what your saying is i have to mix the molybdinum with a little hydrocloric (which i got as well) to make a salt? spell it out for me trash i really want to make some green fire! (thinking of adding the moly salt to a candle and whala green flame candle!)
i also have a few chucks of lepidolite around which is basicly a lithium silicate, any chance of converting that into a salt?
this sort of science is a little dangerous, but hell its enjoyable and really teaches you to be respectfull of these substances.
wasnt there a purple flame as well? and whats the dealo with the guys in south OZ growing them black bouy plants for there flamamble sap? its used in pyrotechnics so ive heard…
thanks for that list of colours there trash! very informative! except im not too sure about the blackpowder recepre being here!
when you say mix magnesium with say, molybdinum (which i got some nice chunks of in my crystal collection!) how would i convert the moly into a saly and whats the best way to powderise magnesium?
not sure pete, but someone registered as a member calling themselves username…
$25 for 8 eh, anyone want to go halves if i find that kit?
those are definatly bigger than the ones we used to monsterfy our bcg’s and as far as the lego site gos, i cant see a single kit with the tires arch2b used. im sure stores will have cheap kits with them in there…
what do you think about the balloon style tyres in the link i put in above? reckon they would fit?
http://shop.lego.com/product.asp?p=8648&cn=37&d=9&t=4
are these the lego tyres you can use? 4x for $15 aint a bad deal!
as in i tried to log in as username…
and whats with all the latin in the preview when i go to attach an image?
i just tried and it didnt work…
im having some bugs with the gallery, even though the pics im trying to upload are jpegs of around 50k its not taking them…
Quote:dgs73 wrote:How chunky you talking Zbeam? The H2 Hummer comes with 2mm wider and maybe a tiny bit larger diameter, but i”m guesing you”re after the ”swamper” style rubber… looks good on an H1 too…
oh damn! no wonder my pajero wheels look a little innadequit (sp?) on my hummer!
super swampers thats the ones! what lego kit comes with the right tires betty?
i had a second go at the camoflage last night, and im really happy with how it turned out. three layers of random masking really paid off… pics up shortly! now all i need is some of those chunky tyres they make in the states for overlands and some sweet alloy rims!
that rs2 is damned amazing! look at them rims! makes me want to finish that 57 chev i got so i can use them damned rims!
whats the bottom initial d car? an fd rx-7 (savanna)?
spray cans are a bit to broad in their pattern for nice random camo, but i have done my best with using some adjustable spray nozzles from el cheapo $2 sprays…
i really shoulda gone techy with masking tape but oh well!
should be dry enough tommorrow to mount it and take some pics…
thanks Aaron, cant wait to use the oils… they sure have different properties to the standard ones…
the hummer got here today, along with some other goodies like the overland bearings…
unfortunatly the i-waver04 oil shocks need a larger pillow ball to attach to, so unless i can get a set of monster ones i wont be able to use em…
never use a screw driver with those ball screws! just use pliers cos they are in way to tight…
hummer looks awesome, its had its first coat allready gonna be arctic camo!
have you just got batmobiles Aaron?
(the new batman rocked wish we could get a z version of that beast!)
please give us a list of what vehicles you are getting, well the ones that havent sold anyways…
im pretty sure all are welcome username…
yeah it was silly, but i fixed it… because only the small gear was damaged not the large one i trimmed off the small one and used a 10 tooth pinioin (exact teeth count and size match!) with a little trimmed off it it fitted perfectly… superglue was use to attach it and within 20 minutes i was climbing again!
when i get some more plastic gears i might work out a reduced gear with more or less than ten teeth… time to find the thread on gear theory me thinks!
godamn it! never run your overland without those tiny bushings in the gearbox! i decided to fabricate a new bushing out of a spare rx-7 headlight to fix it… well stupid me didnt notice why the gears sounded so sick and i kept using it without the bushing…
almost all of the gears teeth have been worn out and it wont run at all! ARGH!!!
dgs!, anyone! where can i get a spare gear!!!??????

13.90 + shipping and handeling…. but these look great and would seriously improve the sturdiness of my overland… i can see a greater need for alloy on it than in a racer thats for sure!
an alloy front scratch plate could be nice as well, but i wonder if it would be possible to get one cast and fabricated by someone locally? or i could have a go reinforcing the plastic one on my own…
i accidently bought some monster springs from toyeast ages ago thinking they were racer roll shock springs, i installed them (soft at the back and semi-hard at the front) and no i have some serious body roll! when accelerating the whole car tilts back!
also i fixed the steering problem, after my beach escapade i must have got the 1 grain of sand in it that had stuck between two of the servo gears. removed it and after an hour of fiddling with the parts to get them back shes running smoove again…
if anyone reading this does a rcmart order could they tell me?
yeah, toyeast had the kyosho stuff as well, i havent seen 3rd party parts for them before…
speaking of third party, do you have any pics of those alloy overland rims?
ok, ive seen heaps lately, and its like they know exactly what things i like or might be interested in… i think they are not intrusive at all and way better than other sites big flashy animated ads that come up…
so whats the total at now A?
