right, the japanese ones have a blue ended motor. its got a little more power but is slightly slower than the green ended ones.

is the performance pack just upgrade parts without another car? id love another orange motor.

i ordered a 2000gt white toyota, a contach and a galardo pullback from strapya. should be here soon, cant wait!

just a heads up, i picked up a avante buggy custom toolbox set on ebay and i thought it came with a spare orange capped motor.

its actually a red ended one which is faster than the orange one (only found in the reebok skyline set). bonus!
the spare gearset is coloured blue, but is exactly the same as the fast orange gears. my set was malformed however and the pinion gear wont go onto the motor.

also picked up the orange fairlady (350z) and a white rx-7 from a model shop in the adelaide cbd. i think that will be the last q-steers ill buy of that series.

still no online suppliers for the new lipo equipped models yet.

i like being able to change motors personally, if they are hard wired ill be pretty dissapointed. the videos i saw of them at the motor show the cars are silly fast so im not to worried.

wish we could get different compound tyres like the bit charge days… was awesome being able to customise motors, gears, suspension (front) and tyre compound.

still no luck on the daily ebay check for the new cars, as soon a i can find a seller ill get a few imported. hopefully before christmas so they will be waiting for me at home.

****! i think this pic might be revealing that the motors are wired in, note the little flash of blue at the end of the motor…

the new switch is nice! and the steering trim system is upgraded also.

    thats an interesting idea!

i had a go printing up the designs on plasticard but the ink didnt take. i will try to take them to a proffessional print shop to see if a laser printer works better.

or i can just glue photo paper to the plasticard sheet.

choro-q deck system was released last week in australia and i grabbed 3 of the nicer shaped ones. they are pretty futuristic looking, but not as nice as a wipeout ship. ill be able to use the bodies on a q-steer with a little modding and some paint 🙂

    😀

i had a look around more today and saw some very nice examples of these models done on photo paper… im very impressed.

tried doing some rough scetches on 5mm grid paper as well using the q-steer chassis as a template to go over. the trick will be making the wipeout craft as small as possible while allowing the wheels to turn and move normally and the ****pit would be great if it aligned with the IR receiver.

toyed around with rediculous ideas of how to get control surfaces/flaps to move when steeing is activated. lights would also be sweet.

sounds good, except if it works the infra red might not have the range to cope with the speed. good luck!

The q-steers use lr44 watch batteries and should last at least a few hours with the ones installed out of the packet. I have never bought a Mario cart qsteer but I’m assuming it is just like a regular one, not a buggy.

ive allways loved the boxy Bb. too hard to find in australia, toyota never released em here. shame really, would have been a nice vehicle to pick up.

i modded a few in the bit char-g days, the off road version all camo’d up with a trailer and a monster truck. i remember betty did a limo version which was awesome to. definatly the most versitile body available in my opinion…

the q-steer Bb’s i have so far havent been meddled with… but that could change 🙂

nah microsizers are rebranded tomy bit char-g. zip zaps are a bit longer in the body and less deformed.

if you dont want to be gouged and pay to much for micro cars that are new the q-steers are the only option. the non buggy ones are better for racing because you dont need to recharge them.

finding cheaper batteries for them can be hard at first but once you find a supply of them they are cheap and reliable.

just search for q-steer in ebay and you should get lucky.

also avoid the double car sets. 2 of them had not so good working cars in them and were more expensive than buying them singly.

you might be able to use the gears in your upgrade set. ive never seen an upgrade kit for zip zaps, but a q steer is much smaller so it would be hard to do.

there arnt many mods fo the q steer because the perform like they have been modded out of the box. using faster gears from other cars and the fast orange q-steer motor you can make an undrivable car it goes to fast.

have a look at my modded bodies i have built. there are many to choose from and with a little practice it is easy to make from a choro-q pullback.
