    Me too!! 😀

Having not been to one before, is there usually other rc stuff being used during the expo??

Perhaps there may be some other gear nearby that could interfere with the your cars?? blackeye:

    Barelll,

Why not you move up to Devonport:smiley2:

Must admit, I’d like to have a go on the Western Creek track though, looks excellent!

Hopefully I’ll get a chance next week to really get stuck into my track, then I’ll be able to hone some of my driving skills before I get onto a bigger track.

Saw your post about the Hobby Expo in Hobart. If I get down to check it out I may even be able to bring my track down for your stand.

    We’ll see what goes.

    Any other Tasmanians out there??

    Barelll,

What date is the trade DEC Expo in March?

I have heard about it but always after the event:sad:

I’m up the NW coast and I can’t ever remember seeing it advertised in the papers up here at all.

Love to get down to check it out. Perhaps this year might be the year I finally make it!!

When you think about it, the whole thing is just one long strip piece of material, then just work out some way of making the points at which the track surface able to bend.

Probably someting like that plastic corrugated cardboard that election or real estate signs are made of may work. It would probbably be rigid enough, then just make a kink along the lines of the corrugations where it changes direction.

Mmmm interesting thought, I have about 10 pieces about 1 mtr x .8 mtr of the stuff at home that just may be perfect!!:smiley2:

I found the Enertec really REALLY fast, but again steering was really REALLY poor.

As mentioned above, tyres are hard and donuts are plentiful.

I think that it would make a great Drag car out of the box, but thats about it.

May have to try the steering spring mod as mentioned by z-beam to see if the car is able to be made controlable at all.

I got a black WRX and love the look of it, but I can’t comment on the fitting the shell to a Bit as I havn’t tried it. The enertec bodies are actually secured to the chassis with a small screw, so totally different to a Bit.

I also found with mine that the forward and reverse is transposed compared to the Bit transmitter i.e. push forward on Enertec TX Bit car goes backwards and vica versa! so the transmitter couldn’t be used without modifications.

My enertec seems to have a bit of a prob at the moment as the car runs all by itself and doesn’t stop quickly when you release the stick back to neutral. May just be batteries, not too sure yet but its totaly uncontrolable at the mo’

Looks really funny when you put two cars side by side:D

$30 bucks was cheap as I paid $50 for mine, still too much for a car that you cant drive though!!

Overall, I don’t think I’d buy another one, another Bit would be a much sounder investment!!

If the track base was thick enough, you perhaps could just drill a hole to drop the poles in and then secure in place with a bit of glue.

Just an idea, depending on how they looked “scale wise” poles could be made out of the small black garden sprinkler risers. They may look a bit to chunky though as they about 6-7mm dia. That way a screw through the base and then just screw the tube onto the screw.

Jeez, lots of screws in that last sentence!! :smiley2:

In this day and age of new suburban developments with underground power, the sight of new overhead power distibution in new areas is becoming rare.

Just as a thought, perhaps we could do the same thing by puting the wires under the track. That way it would never be seen!!

I actually like the idea of the little powerlines running around, but for a really quick uprade perhaps it would be quicker, cheaper and easier to stick the wires directly underneath the track with say some gaffa or packing tape. Possibly depending on how close or far apart the wires had to be all 4 wires could be stuck under the one piece of tape!!??

Then each wire could have a meter or so with an alligator clip on the end and each racer just clips it onto his transmitter!?

    Just a thought??
