Sorry, I can’t work out how to add pics. Do you know how?
Nick
Oh wow! dwhall – where did you find that!? I used to have a red MGBGT 69 with wires and knock of spleens. I’d love a little body like that – I’d have to paint it red but.
I’m waiting for some more interesting covers including a Mini. I don’t think I have the modeling skills to make them myself.
Nick.
i dont think they do mate ive got the same car as you
show me show me show me!!!
bugger poo bum wee….
do the aussie ones come with the crip cap? i dont think i need to do anyhting anyhow…
alright thanx, but with the harder front tires i can do amazing donuts! it worked best with the 2.2 motor. the dounuts were absolutely perfect and consistant. it was def sweet.
matt
bummer….
look nice tho 🙂
yup, and I still have to convince my GF that $210 on a toy car is a wise investment :p
And remember you can get Mini-Z from a mere AUD210.00 at the moment through ausmicro.com!
For those of us who are not very computer literate, could you tell me how to add pictures to my posts? Do I need to host them somewhere?
Sorry, I realise this isn’t the right place to ask, but I couldn’t find a help section or anything.
Nick.
HAHAHAHA!!!
its a Quaker!!
I used to play Unreal Tournament over modem 🙂
I know what lag is 😉
It’s well worth buying the set pictured above if you can get it cheap. You get a spare battery (worth it already) and a set of medium (quite hard actually) tires which fit fine on a Char G.
Apparently you can use the motor cover – why? I don’t know. If you ever wear out your Char G one I suppose it could come in handy :smiley1:
The axle you get can supposedly fit with a lot of fiddling. You could use the wheels – again, why? Better to get the proper Char G set. The gear’s no use. The stickers are compatible :smiley1: and you can use that stupid plastic thing for a wheely bar if you’re keen.
Short story, get it for the battery and if you’d like some different tires to experiment with.
The next set up, the one with the controller is the one you want. With that one you get the added bonus of a yellow 2.0? motor. Well worth it.
Nick.
btw….

any MGB GT fans out there? 😉
thanx! 😀
i think the char-g are “the bomb” too 🙂 but the mini-z and palm racers look so cool…
apon further reading the palmracers also share the wheels and tires of the mini-z… so ya can put the cool aluminium wheels on 🙂
Yes. Especially with a 3.0 motor! You want soft on the front for a tighter turn. Hard on the back if you like to slide around a bit.
Nick.
2 right!
btw, is it my imagination but does the huale ferrari seem to to for ever on 1 charge?
i was playing around with my daughter on the kitchen floor (she is a bit tom-boyish at times) with the cars. I had the s2000 bit, she had the huale ferrari. hers seemed to go for ages while i had to keep recharging!!!
Oh, nearly forgot, the difference in speed and runtime is due to the fact that the Mini Z has 4 AAA batteries, the Palm racer only has 2.
There’s a Mini Z forum here if you look at the index – it has a small but loyal following.
Nick.
Mini Zs come with a proper radio. The palm racers have a cheapie (remember a decent radio&gear will set you back $200 alone).
Mini Zs have fully proportional steering. Palm racers have your standard on/off steering like tincan cars or Char Gs.
Mini Zs have better suspension and handling and there are many upgrades available.
The two can share bodies so if you just want to sit it on the shelf and only use it chase the cat occasionally, you could do worse than a Palm racer (but to be honest, you may as well get a $10 tincan car). If you want to use it a bit, get a Mini Z. You’ll eventually want to fiddle with it and upgrade it.
The price difference is significant – here in Singapore a palm racer is about $70 and Mini Z’s nearly $200. But if money’s an issue, try to find a 2nd hand Mini Z rather than a Palm racer.
The beautifully made F1s only come as Mini-Zs.
Also, check out epoch racers, and if you’re short on racing space, Tomy Bit Char Gs are just the bomb. You can have a whole bunch with spares for the price of one Mini-Z.
My 2 cents.
Nick.
but I read on kyosho.co.uk that they have the same size motor…. so if the palmracer is a “toy” with the same motor then it must have a hell of a lot of torque!
the site states the both have a “? Powerful 130 Class motor “
P.O.A is price on application…. because their system is not smart enough to calculate international shipping charges, so they will have to weigh what you buy and figure out the charge.
I am surprised you cant buy these batteries in the US, most of them are really used for keeping the clock running on your PC motherboard.
All 4 sets I got were axleless.
The other is a toy, 5km/h top speed 🙂
i woudnt mind getting a bitracer, but it seems like the xpensive part of it is the charger. If you buy a bitracer by itself, its pretty cheap, but the controler adds 10 bucks or something. just for a stinking controler, which probably is only a charger. otherwise, i would by one.
Chewy, youve made my day! I’ve a red Evo On its way from Toyeast. Hopefully mine also has the Cripple Cap, so it can be removed…….:smiley1:
Hi Chewy (say, you wouldn’t be the Chewy from the Nokia newsgroups would you?).
Anyway, you should have checked http://www.toyeast.com before buying – their prices are extremely good and they arrive much quicker then you’d expect. I’ve ordered at least five times from them, at least, and all my goods have arrived within 5 days! Sign up for ‘Dealer’ membership and you can save on them – no minimum purchase neccessary. Steer well away from http://www.bitcharg.co.uk as they are a complete rip-off – IMO. Considering you can now buy Official Tomy Bit Char-G in the UK under the name ‘Compact Char-G’ for ?25 – them charging ?50 is a little steep! Yeah you can now get ‘Compact Char-G’ (Official Tomy UK version of the Bit Char-G) in Gadget Shop (stores and online at http://www.gadgetshop.co.uk), Toys R Us and http://www.firebox.co.uk (might be .com). Only two cars available at present and only in two frequencies.
I’ve not got a Mits Evo in my collection (I currently own 7 Official Tomy Bit Char-G and 6 OEM – unofficial ones) so I can’t comment on it – but it looks sweet!
Good luck man :smiley2:
