Hi Again: Thanks for this info. But can you elaborate more on this timing function. Is this the timing, for the pulses of the single data to control the car. like used in a 555 timer circuit. If not. Can you explain this so i could understand this function better on this chip.Better yet. Give me an :example! Also by using Ohms-law how do you determine the resistor for the OSC PINS. PLEASE EXPLAIN! PS I could not open or get these last three datasheets on these websites some chineese message tops up; Thank you once again.

Do I loose any performance without the shaft though? If I don’t loose any performace, I am probably going to keep it as rear wheel drive until I want four wheel drive again.

I want to drift. I don’t really know how to drift with four wheel drive.

The baja champs just an old r/c i have had for years. The inferno is a lot of fun as its big and fast. Just imagine a 1:8 nitro buggy drifting at full power. Fun.

I have a kyosho inferno 1:8 nitro and a 1:10 tamiya baja champ. I hope to get a 1:18 Mini-T in the next few weeks and then get a 1:28 to hack around the house and annoy the cat 🙂

The guy who you say is spamming your site is just another member in our fourm and we find him ok with what he posts but maybe he just did not relise he was spamming. As for us saying each others acting like 13/14 year olds….well we do play with toys dont we :p just kidding. Theres no war and no real badmouthing going on so chill out people 🙂

Yea I’ve read most of trashs tips, good stuff..

I think I’ve gotten the hang of it ok, even manages a loop tho I didnt really mean to 😀

Had a few big crashes, hit the ground vertically at Mach 2 and ejected an engine from its nancelle. The wires caught it and ripped it to peices. Bit of time and solder later and shes apples :):)

Already snapped the wing on a run away flight (plane ended up 500 metres downwind and out of R/C range) and the horiz tail twice, but they fix up sweet.

    Catch

Well I got it midday today, got to go out just before the sun set as the wind died down. Still around 5km/h wind tho.

First few attempts failed miserably, with the worst damage being the nose getting pushed in a bit and the horiz plane snapping in 2. bit of 5 min epoxy and got back out there.

Got in some good flights of around 2 mins however could hardly see the plane due to it being dusk.

Gettin up early tomorrow for a fly, cant wait!

Update – The operation was a complete success.
After putting all 4 steering wires back on the board (they were REALLY cr@p joints) she’s a goer.
Thanks for your help betty.k and merc-blue.

Very interesting show… and I was watching it a few weeks ago, and they were in front of their stores shelves… sitting on top is a vintage Tamiya Audi Quattro box…. and some of the drawers had marked on them things like “RC parts”, “Tamiya Tiger Tank parts” etc etc…. typical RC geeks… lol…

Nah, I haven’t soldered since 1989, but my housemate did electronic engineering at QUT, and he reckons he is all right. At any rate, caution is my main concern. I don’t want to kill it, now that it works.

    Thanks betty.k

That has done the job. 🙂
Unfortunately I broke one of the steering servo leads off where they were dodgily soldered onto the PCB. So, off to buy an iron and solder the bugger back on. :smiley2:

Once I get this one going, I’ll get onto the (nelly 1.3 + PN S04) mod for the MR-01.

Thanks for your help. I stripped it back to the PCB, but didn’t see anything out of the ordinary (I couldn’t work out how to see the bottom of the PCB without breaking the solder for the motor wires which were attached to the PCB case). Tried adjusting the Xtal. Still no good. It drives (with some glitching) for about 30 sec then just dies. Maybe there is uber interference in my area, since the MR-01 glitches when the Tx is off. But that doesn’t explain why the IW-01 worked perfectly. FETs are fine. No sign of any scorching or blistering (not that there should be). This is becoming slightly annoying. I hope I don’t have to send it back to Hong Kong for a replacement.
