M18 is a more professional level of finish (typical of Xrayworship.gif), needs less hop ups added to it to perform. They’re both good, but if you want to drift, get the HPI. If you want to race, go the Xray.M18 hold their own amonst the 1/10s, too… (the one I saw racing did, anyway!!!)

have you weighed it with the Sanyo 3000s in it? Sounds like you’d have to add 20gms to it to keep over legal weight…

to buy off the shelf here ther’re pretty pricey (like 600 aud), but no doubt will have down abit in price since then. Check around, you might be able to pick one up second hand, much cheaper and probably with elecronics installed too

dont forget to Loctite the screws in to these chassis’ if you’re gonna go all alloy… things like to vibrate loose pretty easy… and if i’m not wrong, the Firelap don’t come with the 10 channel lcd transmitter (feel free to correct me if wrong…wink.gif)

Zbeam got a set of these i believe… they shoul;d come with all mounting hardware needed (all other Iwaver stuff seems to have) BUT!! the ball joints that they join on to are 5.8mm, not the 4.8mm Kyosho standard (not sure if the Iwaver04 comes with the 5.8 of not.) I hpoe they work well for you, i had the genuine K shocks on my Monster (long since sold), and had leaking issues

I was looking at the Much More 12v power supply… an upside is it has 4 outputs so at the same time as charging you can also be running a comm lathe, cooling fan rig and tire warmers all at once!! 120 bucks I believe. The Jaycar one is also an option for me, but only if I cant get the Much More oneeasily. TD; wanna buy a Deans discharger w/ a Black Box v.2? Thinking I might not need it anymore…

nice job Z beam… good to see someone’s got the initiative (not to mention time; a rare comodity for me these days…) to get this thing started. Nice simple layout, have you tested your Z on it yet? Or maybe I should ask how many times you’ve run on it??tongue.gif

Seatbelt; I got mine to drift quite happily when I still had a Plasma Dash powered Z, just found you had to stiffen up the springs on all corners (yellow plus an o plate works well…), and hard rubber, about 40-50 degrees

I was thinking a mix of both, ie. some high speed (ha) corners using the grippier side, and maybe a couple of low grip corners to keep people on their toes. The straights I guess dont matter in that respect

not sure about the surfaces being different grade and hence differing levels of grip… would like to check that also. Dont forget though; once you’ve stuck the edging down you’ve effectively picked the side you’re racing on. Choose wisely!! On another point, i’ve decided to go with yellow for my edging, as I plan on using it (the track) for the occaisional night racing, and after a brief testing last night, discovered yellow will be the easiest to see with the Z lights. To quote Big Kev, I’m EXCITED!!!!!

because it has to be cut, thicknessed (you know what I mean; 10mm (if thats the thickness) even on every sheet, and that price is fine Pete. I dont think you’d get em much cheaper than 9.00 ea.
