just grabbing mine noe. Hang on a mo. … … … … … … . OK, i’m back. Trying it now on Lino, as opposed to polished timber. Both clean of course. Nah, still the same. Not as bad, but still a bit wider turning right. I wish there was more than one at BigW ’cause i was ready to grab two or three…

damn mate that Ford is too cool, shame about the i.r. issue. Further, you’ve got too much time on your hands… hahaha… Nice finds though, how do things line up off the get-go? Wheel arches, etc? Much modding in your future?

i’ve had to get used to confined spaces for running too, hence the reason my rcp-type track is so small… make for some interesting driving too, as opposed to the drunk fiasco posted of us racing earlier in this thread… lols, beer and Zs mix only up till your 6th beer, then give one or the other a miss for a while, or deal with the result… we are quite capable drivers off the suds. Sometimes. Race days tend for us to occur at my house, due to the close proximity of the pool and fridge (beer, anyone?). We live in the Ryde area, anyway, that being me, Pete, J and Chris (inactive members atm), plus Big Dave (Mini G), plus Kev and Talldude make a showing now and then. Regular racing still does nothing for the finger itch, believe me!!

and further, a bit more info. All these Zs in Sydey shops for 120 are rear mount only, namely Alfa 156, 360 Modena and Lamborghini Jota. Autoscales are 30 each, namely Porsche 935 in black or maroon, Porsche Jagermiester, Martini race specs, Volkswagon Golf (high mount). Lets go shopping!!! lol

Pete, and now big Dave have bought one of these 015i’s, and they do not have the ICS port. Z; these are easy to do as wide body, but it will wind up the same as an 01; you will need 2.5mm offset on the front and wide rears to make it 02 width… remember guys, this chassis is an 01 width with 02 ‘tronics and layout (battery position the obvious other difference.) brycevr; to make an 015i into your car of choice (nice one, too!!), you will need the Autoscale 02 McLaren, and 01 (2.5mm offset front, wide rear) rims, as this is the only way it’ll work. 02 are not available off the shelf in shops in Sydney

Can and will chuck my track in the boot… (4x7m these days, more a tech track than speed), plus i still have all the pvc from my earlier efforts… enough pipe and joins to do something approx. 10x20m. Give me a hoy if this sounds possible… can rally the troops together

all Sydney hobby shops have them in stock, the price just keeps going down because they’re all copeting with each other for price. Why oh why could’nt this have happened a few years ago?? Not sure if the local ones come with an Xspeed, will find out off big Dave…

rcs2die4; where abouts in Sydney are you mate? We all break up from work pretty soon, and we’ve got some itchy z-trigger fingers. The track is up pretty much 24/7 in my holiday period, so all are welcome. Sydney Mini Z will NEVER die:approve:

brycevr; welcome! I’ll be quick and to the point; Quality is the question here, so price is relevent, but if you’re not going to be hard on the car, any of the three will do. Though i’d suggest the AWD Z, all you really need (and even then…) is bearings, they have improved elecronics over the earlier models, and faster out of the box too. Like yourself, i too still roll a (heavily modded) 01 as well, actually kept it over the 02 i sold not long ago. As for tires, depends on surface. My Z track generally sees us using 10 – 20 degree rubber, or soft foams… what area you in? Bathurst? You might want to check out our track, more to the point the cars of us Sydney crew. 01s, 02s, AWDs, Iwavers. Setups, etc. Aaron btw is THE person to hook you up with your choice of 1/28 wheels… :smiley16: 😀

ok, got it today. Nice packaging. Silver WRX, about $20. Was only two left, would’ve goten the RX8 as well but the box was a right-off and i could’nt trust the contents to be different… anyways, time to play. No charging, cool!! This could be fun… Needed a trim out of the box (no suprise there; after aprox 30 Bits i’m used to this and dont mind; it takes all of half a second…), but as expected, as a trade-off for straight travel, i now have a 5cm turning circle left, 25cm going right. Fair enough, i’ll fix that later. About 1.0 Bit speed out of the box, but that was till i hit the “turbo’ button… oooh. Now it’s a 1.6. Almost. Hmmm. Responce to sirAbe; Your comparing DigiQ and Qsteer is a little unfair in some areas, its like comparing a Mini Z and a Palm Runner. The price difference) would be mainly due to one being proportional (Mini Z, DigiQ) and one being “on/off” (Palm Runner, Qsteer). Which brings me to the “too fast” reference; back off the throttle!! (Do you even own a DigiQ?) Plus, they have a technical/speed switch to tame them as well… Last little thing (and im not having a dig) is i’d rather charge my DigiQs on the controllers than shell out for 4 more LR44 batteries for the Qsteer every time it dies (which i will admit wont be often.) Overall, happy with it, but it’s just a Bit to me

Ta for that info mate, now i’ll be doing just that. Will grab one on Thursday, i’ve wanted to get one since this thread started, the price is too good to be true. I like the look of the Initial D set too, good that it comes with two cars and controllers too

indoor offroad track is on the way… a mate of mine and i had an accidental head on at top speed (mine with the Lipo battery in it), all that broke on mine was a rear hub, and his, a steering link. (spare links are supplied anyway. Cool.) With the price of replacement plastic parts generally coming in under $10, and easy to source, it really is a bargain. Z-beam; the gun-metal Baja looks particularly cool, with its chrome rims and narrow fronts… lol… the only thing i did’nt like about it was the TINY e-clips that hold the wheels on… i hate them at the best of times, but this small? Another $10 bucks and threaded axles with alloy nuts are yours…

i agree with TD, although the OL and Monster are made on an almost identical platform, the Monster was very fragile, and also prone to meshing issues over time. The Overland is alot of fun and has none of the Monsters drawbacks… If scale crawling and off-roading is your thing, go the Overland. If you like to spend alot of time with your wheels spinning in the air (join the club…!), go the Micro T. Plus, all the needed batteries come with the littlest Losi… check out its brother too, the Micro Baja… also wicked cool…

All 3 are great, the Micro T has the edge for me as it & its hop ups are cheaper. Plus faster out of the box. The OL and Monster are still great fun though…
