nice… this is the idea i settled on a year or so ago, but chose to shoe goo the edges down. Works awesome, nice job ph2t!! I decided to go wider lanes to accommodate our x-speeds and ‘other’ motors in the end … the lanes are now 898mm wide, but it uses alot more mats…

had a nelly turboed mr01 when i was at the netboard courts we had heaps of stacks.

had a few head on when a h-plate broke and body cracks.

but my biggest stack was when i was going full speed on the courts and i hit a tiny rock which caused my car to skip and when it landed it went straight into a netball pole.

it bounched back at least 2meters and the front end was wrecked steering totally fucked body cracked. i remember that it landed on it roof the wheels were spining.

i wasnt tooo peeveed off was an excuse to buy a newer car.

ah, Meadowbank park eh? Those netball courts have taken their toll on more than a few Zs… here’s one for ya guys… big stack but no damage. Netball courts again, fetted and Plasma Dash-ed 01 Z, hit a TINY rock at about 60k, air, cartwheel cartwheel cartwheel into the tire of a nearby parked 4×4, which sent it bounching back into the only puddle in the carpark. But that was nothing… odd. Was able to drive away… TD; remember GeoZ and his turbo-ed VW 01, and the ill-fated dusk speed run? Hard to see those drainage dips in that (lack of) light, but even harder to avoid em if you cant see em… That, guys, needed a dust pan and brush if it was to be cleaned up… suffice to say nothing was salvagable off his car… it simply disintergrated…

Renton; you can never have enough spares, i say… haha… or eskies. How does the beginning of December or maybe early January sound(or both!!!), most likely we’ll have some time off work around then (some off the more unlucky amongst us have three months off over the Christmas period… did i say unlucky?? That should read STOKED), so plenty of time to wear out lots of Z tires… Kev; will do. Will PM you my # closer to the event… d

oh, AdamC; i got one of those drifters… the Trueno, as a rtr it has a locked front diff and spider gear diff in rear and an option locked rear in the box… not very fast drifting out of the box but added the hpi mod motor and that helped abit… rtr also does come with the gyro, but is better left unplugged i find… d

dont know if you guys still run these, but they’re a cack… especially at speed. Foams as mentioned earlier are a must, i actually run the same set up of soft rear and medium front… have a Mamba 6800 with a 14t pinion and 2s lipo and yeild approx. 70k’s… got a losi 9400 that im going to pair with a 16t pinion and see what results… now, an answer and a question; first, the answer… the belts seem to stretch a fair bit under this load, but dont seem to be able to slip. Yet… Now, the question; are there any 3s lipos that’ll fit in the stock (sorta – HB carbon upgrade but same gap for cells) chassis??

hey hey… i might be able to help here… my friends and i live in the sydney area and were looking into getting one of these track systems imported… turns out cost of shipping is comparable to the cost of the track itself due to the size and weight of the thing. Of course, if you’re in the US of A or J land postage is a non issue… lol but seriously, look at supercheap auto or clarks rubber for jigsaw edged mats… approx. 600 x 600mm they are, by cutting a second coloured couple into strips you have edging ready to stick down, and if done right will yield several different layouts… start with about 12 black matts (approx 20 bucks for a four pack from supercheap, abit more from clarks but grippier rubber; up to you), a couple of single ones in a different colour for edges, and shoe goo to wack it all together. Total cost of this size; 150 aud. Add more track as you want or your budget allows… Hope this helps…

hey Kev… long time no hear!! Still in West Ryde, track in the garage… anything up to 6, the usual suspects, but more would be cool… Renton; we’re only so-so drivers ourselves, especially once a couple of bevvies have been downed… nah, we still run the older electronics. Going to look into 2.4ghz for the 010 in the near future… higher on my list is an amb style transponder and timing system for this track… just gotta locate one…

and thinking about it, there’s nothing i need to do… it’s already brushless, alll the running gear comes upgraded out of the box. My only question; can it run li-po? nothing in the instructions mention this, and i cant find any info online. Have seen a couple of vids, but they dont show unde the lid… being i can run 14 cell no sweat (14.4 volts), with potential to run 20 cells (apparently… this is not going to be tried by me however…), there should be no issues with 2×2 lipo (or even 2×3). My issue is safety cutoff – does’nt have one. Is there a waterproof one out there i can utilize people? Pro Boat make one as an option for their Blackjack 26 brushless, but it wont be an option for me due to differing motor size

nothing special mate… just 14 cells (Intellect 4200s – 2×7 cell) and the 3 titanium-beryllium props… baby steps for me mate. This thing is stupid fast on 14, i still run it with my heart in my mouth with these cells… the 2×6 cell packs are good though, not as fast but control is a worthy trade off for me. New prop is on the boat, but only metal replacement for the stock plastic one, the other two metals are twin blade (stock is 3), with more pitch(?) than stock too… the bigger being larger diametre and more pitch again… that will be installed MUCH later. When you’re back in Sydney we’ll take it for a rap if you’re interested T.D.
