Hey froggy, once you hit the putty you will never just paint again:D. I have worked with basically two types of putty, one an alcohol based liquid putty and the second an epoxy type putty. The epoxy putty I use has two sticks that have to be kneeded together to make the putty which will harden. I can give you more info if you want, this is very general, but I don’t want the post to take up the page;) Ask questions if you have any after this?

Dry is the way to go if you are working with liquid filler type putty, as the outside dries first, kind of like a crust, b4 the inside dries. So molding this type of putty when partially dry tends to wrinkle the surface and make things messy. If you are sanding and using alot of putty this is not too much of a concern, but most times with this type of putty I would most def. let it dry first, imo. The dry time depends on the company. I had about 8 hour dry time (until I could sand it).

If you are working with an epoxy based putty, once the two compounds are mixed together they harden slowly, like autobody filler. This process can vary in time depending on what company/compounds you use. The stuff I used was a slow drying putty, gum like consitancy, so molding shape was very easy after application, as I had to wait a day or more for this type to dry.

Let me know if this helps and I will try to answer any other questions.

I mean the 5 1/4″ disks z-beam, just an age joke there. Heck I remember my dad bringing home some 8″ (or 8.5″, can’t remember now) floppies and asking if they were any good to us, I think we used them as frisbies;)

Ok some more pics shortly, tommorow or the day after. Three Initial D cars almost done, the FC and FD’s should be stickered up soon and added an 85 as well, just have to touch up and put a decal on the hood;)

ms, what did you end up doing with your putty btw?

barto, once again you are right on the 34:( I hate it when you do that:). Guess I have one more body to paint, too bad cause the 34 only needed decals, now I have to paint my 32 pullback, although I do have a dark grey in it from my skyline set now that I think of it (not sure I want to touch that though)? Will post pics, soon.

Both are pull-backs (which doesn’t really matter here, but fun to play with on their own as well;) Both sets of tires are rubber as well. The ATV have alot of play and are most likely the first set I will use, but the others have very nice rims (I bought two of these of a possible 8, all of which have slightly different rims:) Really happy with both types and for $3 CD (not sure what that is AD or USD right now as price of our loonie, yes that is what we call our dollar..don’t ask, has been all over the place lately) but in any case its cheap for what you get as you can even change the tires, much like a bit if you blow one out;).

:). See if you can find this or something like it brendan it may help you out as it acts as a nice filler or leveler (easy to sand as well). Keep up the good work.

Nice Hachi, personally like the neon green R-32.

froggy you can just copy the link to the url to the pics in the quick reply box (this will give you just a link to the pic) or you can insert Image when you press the Reply to Topic hyperlink under the quick reply box. You can also link to your member gallery as barto and a few of us have done in by clicking on the control panel link under the sign out button then by clicking on the edit profile link near the top left on the screen that comes up (I think) then you have to re-enter your site PW and in the box at the bottom right that says signature you can copy the link to your member gallery, below:) and paste it into that box. With this every time you post there will be a link to your gallery attached.

You can also choose an avatar and enter other info here as well if you like? When you are done re-type in your password twice (top left -near the red stars) and hit the submit button at the bottom:) If you know how to do any of this then just ignore the parts you know already. Hope this helps.

Thanks OTP, was impressed with the board thou. Did you ever finish your 1/64 F1 or the Ford GT? I am working on a GT atm and it is taking longer then I would like. Alot of rounded curves on that car makes it hard to get symmetry just right, but I think I have it now:) pic in gallery near top.

lol Panda, you have really put some thought into this:) Here is a link I think might help you out for location at least. And yes lakes can be near the top of mountains:shock:. About the tofu? I do know that he has a glass of water that he usually starts and finishes with with the purpose of not spilling any (wish I could drive that smooth;)

Ok the FC is almost done. Ran out of paint:( Painted a second FD as well (week or so back) not too happy with the color on it as well:( Will get them both done and decals put on. Pleased with the body mod on the FC though, I think I am getting the hang of it:) Still have to work on my painting skills:( a bit, imo.
