I was actually considering using tan Felt for sand traps. It’s thick enough to slow the cars down, but low enough that they should be able to get into it without any trouble. I don’t think it’ll work with my current design though.
I’m currently back in testing trying to fix climbing problems.
I’ve been running a few things through my head, the main hold up right now is that I just started a new job :smiley2:
I’d love to see the BMW M Coupe since that’s what I drive. But as earlier stated… they’ve already shown with the mini that the odds of a bimmer being built as a bit are pretty slim unless you want to put a huge price tag next to it.
ekwj… sorry to say that wasn’t me. I don’t have any digital video equipment to pull that off.
SurfmyStrat… I’ve been working with chicken wire and doing a paper mache foundation.
no clue, but that s the same quote I use! I love it! Great minds think alike

I definatly dig your track, Dave. I check this message a while ago, but wanted to wait till I could include another update.
*Track Update* The surface has been created and we set it up to have a textured surface hoping for a World Rally Effect. Well… bad news, the textured surface has destroyed the car’s climbing ability so even after testing the hills to ensure the power was there, they are unable to make the accents. Also, the texture of the terrain has also taken away the ablity to steer the cars. The magnets won’t pull the wheels with bumps in the road. I’m looking for something better to make the actual track out of, but I like the overall look so far.
Stage one completed. The skeleton for the course is finished. I took pictures, but I’m not exactly sure how to post them. I’ll worry about that when I have more to post.
*Update*
I killed the idea of the pits all together for the time being. I’ve layed out a skeleton for most of the terrain after a lot of bit testing. The hills shouldn’t be a problem but the track will most likely be one way.
After a little blood and sweat the track IS coming along quite well.
-Also… All the drawn out plans ended up being garbage. The terrain ends up doing most of the track design for you. I’m just building hills with flat areas for the road to go through and connecting them.
True, Z-Beam, that was something I was thinking. The extra button may just be to make them left and right hand friendly. (altough I’m pretty sure lefties are still used to steering left and everything else right.
Sharp! It looks like they have Two buttons on the top of the new controller… I’d assume one it boost, but what would the other be for:question:
Still alive Shypo, just been busy :smiley2:
That Sprinter looks Sharp! I haven t had too much trouble with breaking loose on my bits, but maybe it would keep them from whipping the rear end out on tight turns.

How about a Lotus Elise
Please have someone else explain. You kind of hard to follow.
Well… I drive a BMW M Coupe and I’d love to see that in a bit (with the antenna, it looks like an RC car anyway) Also, I’d like to see a BMW M3, a TVR Tuscan speed 6 or Griffen 5.0, McLaren F1, Ford Indigo, 67 Chevy 427 Big Block Corvette, Nascars would be cool to market (but I don’t really want one), anything rally, the Clio, the 206, I could go on for hours, so I’ll just stop now.

I hope they make a MINI body set! That’d be the first Import Bit (Non Japanese).
Sounds like a lot of work is going into it. Are you banking the turns or adding hills or will it be a flat course? I’d love to see how it’s coming. Maybe I’ll get closer to that level on my next course.
It took about 4 days to get to the point that I could drive the track, but it took me about twoweeks of testing and modifying to get the track to get the track to the point it’s at now.
The bits were sticking to the walls when I first completed it due to the roughness of the cut styrofoam, but by simply putting a wall of paper around the edge, it’s made the track very quick and very competitive.
I just installed the Lap counter tonight (Monday) I’ve only ran it once using it (long day at work) but the fastest lap I did was 7.11 seconds. This was using a Bit Char-G Booster car with a 3.0 motor (no other upgrades).
Another thought… How long has it been since you’ve changed your batteries in your controller?
That makes sense. Lower production costs means lower unit costs and higher profits. Can’t blame them for wanting that. Thanks for the info guys.
Actually… my track is basically completed… the only thing I’m waiting on is the digital lap counter. I ordered it… I think Thursday and was told it should be in Monday, so after I throw that on, I’m planning on taking some pics and posting them here.
I want to build a BMW M Coupe for my Bit, but don’t have the skills or the knowledge to do it. There is a German Bit site that has a BMW Z3 with the top down, but I don’t even think that’s for sale.
If you bought it new, it should tell you right on the box. The 9.86.1 gear is considered the medium gear.
