K.I.T (Bit) racer chargers are not really compatible, the pins are different. Char-g pins are side by side and KIT pins are one in front of the other. The KIT racer charger could probably be chopped up modded, but you would probably have more luck with the nail idea

Sorry Vbbartlett you are correct. The site I suggested seems to list them as the WRONG size. I have only everbought the batteries from there so I took for granted that 1/4AAA was the size. If you measure an AAA battery it is about 44mm long so the batteries we use being about 15mm long whichis definitely1/3!!!

People be aware that different manufacturers are calling the battery we use both 1/3AAA and 1/4AAA. Make sure if you are ordering thatu buy the one that is 10mm x 15mm or there abouts. The supplyer I suggested lists them as 1/4AAA but states its BCG compatible. The compatibility comment is correct, the size is not. The dimensions however are correctand they are cheap at about $AU3.00 each delivered.

I think A&D should consider putting a life span on this forum now and directing all new traffic to the new forum on the new site.

Just to get things straight, the Tomy N50-AAA NiCd batteries are 1/4 AAA. 10mmdia and 14mm long.Thats ONE QUARTER AAA. I dont know why people keep refering to them as 1/3AAA .(1/3AAA batteries are 20mm long and wont fit). You can get the batteries in Vic (Oz) for about AU$30 for 10 including postage. The site is setup as an international website in US$ but stock is mailed from South Yarra in Melbourne and will be in Oz letterboxes 2-3 days after ordering.

http://www.batterieswholesale.com/nimh.htmscroll down to the 1/4 AAA listing and note the comment on their site that this is an upgrade battery for Tomy Bit Char-g R/C cars

Now that is just too easy

How many Voltz were there produced?? Was it 500 or 5000. For that matter does anybody know the amounts of some of the others….Nur, Xbox, Calsonic Skyline (30,000??), Disney, Milk Mag Toyota ??

How many of the current ‘Limited Edition’ Skyline GT-Rs are being produced? There seems to be alot around for a limited edition.

Where did the Milk Magazine car come from anyway…What the hell is Milk Magazine??

yeah but isnta constant charge going to be a slow charge??? probably a trickle for a few hours with zero temp rise. Or do you think there is a way to modify the charge circuit so that it delivers a fuller charge within an acceptible time? Multiple charging will heat up the battery, killing it eventually, so a longer less current charge is preferable for the batteries sake….but not for mine. What do you think

Crom there is a crip cap on the car pcb, its tiny but removing it should increase range. I dont have the link but keep looking on the net(and here in the tech section)and youwill find the mod.

Ebay worldwide is probably the cheapest place to buy BCGs as far as I know. You can get some (Tomy) models for $US 19.90 plus $10 postage. $US29.90 is about $50.50 in Ozzie dollars. Or you can ring around toy stores / myers to see if they have any Compact Char-g stock left but best of luck after Xmas. Compacts limit you to only two frequencies though. Hobby place charges $25AU for a 2.6 motor, better off getting a KIT racer for 24.95 and getting some spareparts for your BCG as well. They are of limited use but what the hell.

bit_charg_oz@hotmail.com sell BCGs starting from $65 but will add postage from Tasmania

I was just going thru eBay and I noticed buses 05 to 08. I didnt know they released 4 more bus models (same shells – different company colours). How the hell am I going to keep up, I need to get a second job

BTW are the buses limited edition or what??

Brett, have you tried it with a 12:1 gear ratio, maybe the ratio you are using is too low. A 3.0 will want to spin, so a higher spinningratio is needed. This will increase power at the wheels and because it is a 3.0 you wont lose too much top end

Yeah, I wantto put a controller on a CRO (oscilliscope) and see what actually changes when the controls are activated. I also want to see exactly what controls the strength of the signal output. The supply voltage would play a major part in Tx strengthand thats why (I think) that nicads are useless because your starting with only 2.4 volts when fully charged. That is the equivilentof 2 flat duracells :-(. I am still waiting for my 350Z booster to arrive in the post then I’ll get to work on Tx signal manipulation from control functions and booster sw. I also want to mod my 4B controller to include the other 2 frequencies (40 & 49 MHz) so it becomes a 6B comtroller and the only one I need to control all my cars, so long as I can get a decent signal output increase first. I am also putting together ideas for a BCG dyno. I want to see which motors actually put out the most power/highest revs, using the same gear sets so I can compare apples to apples

The thing that is still a mystery to me (and the hardest to work on without a circuit diagram) is the car pcb. Any ideas where I could get a schematic from.

P.S. Bought a compact S2K today, 40MHz, range is about 8 meters (inside house ran out of room)straight out of the box and it still has its cripple cap on the car pcb….not too shabby. Outside about 10 meters and was still going. Bull ant road toll is climbing steadily

Sounds pretty easy to me. Does anybody know if the circuit diagrams for the car circuit boards are on the net?? I’ve seen thestandard controller schematics, but i would like a booster controller diagram and a ‘standard’ and ‘booster’ car diagrams. After that anything is possible
