Don’t know who’s got them on your side of the fishing hole, but up here you can get them from rcKenon dot com for $17.US(alloy) and $30.US(modified) plus shipping.

Change #47: I guess I won’t be continuing much with my mid-motor project after all. My only LHS just went under and I was counting on them to start supporting 1/28 this winter and to build a track… I sold off my #2 stock IW today and will probably do the same with #1 when I finish building what I already have for it. With no local support or tracks, PC gaming may have to again become my time-consuming hobby… :8ball:

Thanks guys. I have another one that looks like this one that I think is a “Topcad” or “Top” brand, but it hangs 2mm lower than the stock mount at its lowest point so it won’t work for my application. I’ll buy the “PN Racing” one since you think it will match the stock’s height.

I am familiar with the adjustable model and agree that it is probably one of the best out there. But I need one that does not hang lower than the stock low-mount for my application.

The one I’m wondering about now it this one:

Well, this was not a good day for much of anything — especially not to be working on the new diff!!
Got to breaking down the new diff to install the delrin gear and ….. the danged little c-clamp decided to take a prolonged vacation to parts unknown and to never be seen again. :dead: Guess I’ll spend a good deal of the next couple days scouring the local hardware stores to try to find a replacement. I already know they don’t carry metric screws or nuts that small. :8ball:

Thank you again. Finally got it with a 1.5 from my jewelers set and a pair of visegrips — it was stuck! LOL

The tires ought to be the easier part. The Skyline and NSX MR-02’s likely both use Normal (8.5) front and Semi-Wide(10) or Wide(11) rear tires.

The wheels may be a bit more particular if appearance and clearance is a concern. All MR-02’s do not have the same width and/or offset specs. I believe the Skyline has a wheel offset of 1.0 front and rear while the NSX’s are different (maybe either 2.5/0.0 or 0.0/0.0). Although these are not personally confirmed, based on research to date, this appears to be the case. Using a different offset Normal(8.5) wheel than stock cause the wheel to “stick out” more or less than stock. The same applies to the rear.

For proper wheel fit to your body, it may be worth it to write the supplier for width and offset specs on the wheel/set you are interested in. I, too, have extra wheels sitting around that don’t really “fit” the application I got them for.

Offset cross-reference chart updated, cleaned up, and reorganized. Still in need of missing data from any of you who have the models that are incomplete. Please!

    Thanks,

Just because I wanted to know, I’ve put together a first draft of a Mini-Z wheel offset cross-reference chart for wheel useage. If any would like to review it, they can d/l it from HERE as a zipped MS Excel spreadsheet.

It’s still missing a few numbers and some cars, but it’s a starting point. As people offer up the missing info, I’ll update it. It hopefully shows what stock wheels will match other cars’ wheels. Feel free to offer up any missing info please.

    Thanks,

Thanks. So I take it one color is the same as another… Just wondered why people were changing one for another on their motors.

When looking at costs, note this: I thought the XMod might be a good starter in the 1/28 realm ’cause it was just $50USD intially. But in a matter of just 2-3 weeks, I found that I’d paid out well over $150USD for Radio Shack proprietary parts to upgrade it to a merely competitive level. Could have bought an Iwaver or even a Mini Z MR-01 for less than that! (and can’t even sell it to recoup my costs – a BIG newbie mistake on my part.)

Not familiar with the Mini X…

Don’t overlook the Iwaver – a Mini Z clone proving itself to be measure up competitively to the Kyosho at about 1/3-1/2 the initial cost. And it’s fully compatible with MR-01 parts.

First thing that caught my eye is the midships reversed motor. Does just reversing the motor wire connections at the screws reverse the motor’s spin or is there more to than that? How much longer than the stock H-plate is the X-plate?
