    Push those boundries!!!!

One thing a lot of us got into was taking our bits out for a serious spin in the dirt. Here’s the casualties of that little exercise.

I gotta say that Betty’s car shown below was the best car of the day! period! The way she handled everything was just beautiful.

Here’s micro’s dual cell 350A, nice bloody car!

    Here’s my little TRUCK!!!

Even more pics will be posted (you got it, yeah!) Also gonna get some videos done finaly!

    cheers(tired)

Dunno about you punks but I got myself fairly sunburnt! Let that be a lesson to staying outside for 2+ hours in the Melbourne sun!

I was a great day and we had lots of fun! I also got to make whip cream of microamps on the go-karts track. Matter of fact I shat on everyone on that track!:approve:

I’ve got to go out now but I’ll be back later…. Yes kids we took lots of pics and some mad video as well….

    Here’s a sampler for now:

Yea I noticed serious drying out and other “funny” marks on the PCB when I opened it.
Also the PCB that has the boost button on it had a lifted track that broke when I removed it. Talk about crap quality….. At least the chassis is in better general working order….for now….

Showing promise there dude. You might need to sand the back a little bit more. Try to use 200+ grad sandpaper if you can then switch to 600 wet/dry sandpaper for the final sand.

Also, putting down a thin undercoat will help you find any bumps and holes that can be cleaned up or filled in before laying down the final coats…..

yeah 11am is cool. Leon if you can come to Oakleigh station I could pick you up from there. It sorta defeats the purpose to go all the way into the city. Just Catch the Dandenong line back out when you get to Flinders street.

Pork, sorry man I don’t have a portable soldering iron, but hey, bring a chassis and I could fet mod it during the week and mail it back to you no sweats. We can work something out 🙂

So who else is from Melbourne???? Where is Panda????? Someone PM him to get his act together! 🙂

    Well here’s the score:

Last week at work my boss (tha @#$%@$%) has been on leave and I had a chance to take this baby for a spin in the corridors and MIS dept at work. My work mates were rolling there eyes on my latest creation since this obsession is sorta known to them(ausmicro is always open at work, *sigh*)….

Well I gotta say this, she’s a real beast! With my EM38 Vanquish and low ratio gear set she’s pretty fast in non-boost mode but when you go into boost, holy freeholy batman!

The range I got inside down the corridors was easily 15m-17m. When nobody was looking I took the car outside (sad) and gave it a spin. I achieved easily what I later counted out to be 30 metres! That’s close to 100ft!!!! The range is insane! NB: It’s a 57mhz LXX Booster combo.

This is where my problems started :dead:.

I was running the car inside, just kicked in the full boost when I lost controll and the car veered under a door into another dept. The problem this time is that it DIDN’T clear the bottom edge of the door. Try to figure out from this picture what took the full brunt of the car slamming to a stop.

    spec1a.jpg

The little white coil thingy (also known as a variable inductor) took the full force of the car’s momentum and when it the bottom edge of the door. The coil was lifted off the PCB and one pin had removed itself, not a good thing. Needless to say that I’ve thrown away a few hours trying to fix it up buits she’s got a good time to heal before going pro in the local circuit……

so you mean from the front wheel knuckle to the tyre? in this case I don’t think so either. The front wheel mounts are about 1mm lower than the lowest part of the chassis, after this there is still approx 4mm of clearance given by the tyres.. so it’s all cool…
