i figured that not a lot of ppl are bit hobbists in montreal, ppl that ive meet here just has one and never got into it. its probably because there’s not many place u can get it here. the only way i get mine are by ordering them from HK and Japan in chinatown.
WOW! that’s really not bad at all. i hope my first paint job will look like that. what did u use? normal paint and brush? or tape and spray?
i still have to learn how to to make it out of putty, and where to get putty.
we’re probably gonna use plywood and varnish it, but if we might use masonite if its really cheap. i dunno wut problem our bits have, but sometimes it handles REALLY well without tipping over and some other times it can’t handle at all. we ordered some soft tires that r comming in today. hopefully that will help.
one problem me and my friend encountered is the size of the track. if we want to run 2.2 and 2.6 motors on the track how wide should the road be? i read somewhere that suggested 20 to 30 centimeters, but we calculated that the track will be really big if we follow that. do we really need such a wide track?
i have no choice but to get a 4 band controller if im gonna get a bosster set.
im thinking of putting my 2.6 motor and some 9:86:1 gears, and some soft tires on my booster set. would that be good?
:shock:really?!?!?! can u send me a pic? and some instructions on how to make a custom shell? wouldn’t it be heavier tho…?
i am almost certain of getting the booster set to be my official track car….wut do u guys think? would it be good? and how much of the motor is used if i don’t press the booster?
oh yah….i almost forgot, does anyone know of any place that i can get move sponser signs for the guard rails. cos my track will be pretty big and it will get very repeative if i use only the ones on this site
whoa…..don’t u guys think that we got a bit off topic?
i wish they made the RX-7 FC shell, that’s like my favourite car in initil d. maybe i’ll make one when i find out how ppl make their own shells.
i think me and my friemd will most likely use plywood to make our track. and so far the only mod i did that i was pleased was the 2.6 motor. i wanted to put a bridge cos i saw it on davef’s page and i thought that was a pretty cool idea. Shypo, do u suggest me getting a booster set and modify it? cos i was thinking that i would want that option when i pit in. wut if i hold the boost button the whole time that i am racing, and only let go when i pit in, would that drain the battery faster than a normal bit?

we’re using the layout from this sitehttp://www.karting.co.uk/tracks/TrackDetail.asp?TID=0053
we’re using the layout from this sitethx dave, i think me and me friend will stick with wood for sure, since so many ppl suggested that and they were happy with the results. will any wood do?
i hard tha masonite was a goodsurface to build a track, but i dunno wut masonite really is and where can i get some? if i use plywood, how many times should i varnish it?
my vote would go to Honda, cos im a Honda freak. 😀 but i don’t only like Hondas like like the RX-7s too, which reminds me…it be cool if they made a FC:p
WOW…..i want one now…..this is like how i got into BCGs someone posted it up on the Initial d forum and then i wanted one right a way.
my first bit was the honda NSX-R until. i still have to find time to fix the steering coil. now im working on a S2000 with a 2.6 motor, and trying to control it. i’ll be working on bits less now cos i promised myself that i would finish building my TAMIYA S2000 1/10 scale. i’ve had it for like more than a year now and haven’t finished it.
Happy Birthday DIJNN
yah…..i know…..my friend has the same problem too.
i was playing with my bit again to see wut might the problem be, and it looks like i need some soft tires. for example if i press a direction and then press forward, the bit will do massive dounuts. and if i go straight and then press a direction the car will kinda drift a bit and the turning circle is very wide, and when i let go of all the buttons it does a 180…plz let me know if any of u have this problem too.
thx davef, i’ll keep u posted on my track…but dun expect too much its gonna be my first track:Dand im still a bit new to bits.
thx a lot guys for the tips. i was looking around in a hobby store today, and i found a lot of useful stuff in the train section. I think my track well be using a lot of that stuff, like the grass and stuff. but the buildings and trees r a bit pricy.:dead:. i also saw some liquid of some sort, its meant to reproduce asphalt…but i dunno how to use it. i might go there again and ask the guy. i have a feeling this track project will be a big investment. its i good thing me and my friend is spliting for this.:D
