Sorry Guys, I’m a bit late into this thread, just picked up on it.

    dgs73 – Malcolm – A remote control comedy.
A classic movie – I haven’t worked out out to mount my 12 guage on my BCG, but I’m getting close. 🙂

$700aus+ … ouch !!! I will have to give the nikko shop a call and see what the real price is.

Panda and uA, The cameras are really small, and really light, and powering them is very easy.
I used three lithiums piggy backed on my tank with the turret removed. I actually got the idea from one of the guys who sells the mini wireless cameras in Hong Kong. He actually has a small track car doing loops on a track carrying the camera and displaying it on a small LCD screen.
By the way, the little wireless cameras only cost $50 in hong kong, and the mini 1 inch LCD
screens are only $100. There is heaps of variety,
basically a camera to suit every need.

The only problem with the BCG is the range is terrible. The camera is quite capable of transmitting well over 300m. My ham radio television transmitters are able to do even better, though they are slight bit bigger.
The car can move around without too much problems with the extra weight, though you certainly aren’t going to try race it with a cam
on it. Best option is to remove the BCG battery and power from one bigger battery bank.
They fit in a MiniZ with lots of room to spare.

I got sick of having to extract my mini tank from tricky places, so I put a piece of string on it. I then decided that I could do a lot better with 10m of thin umbilical cord and power it and control it all externally and use the wireless camera for other wireless tasks.
The mini LCD is fun for about 5 minutes until you actually want to see something in detail,
then you want a big screen.

This is the only pic I have of it at the moment,
I put an IR camera on it… works a lot better down dark pipes.

Yes, most of the 3.5 circuits have an audio in and audio out fuction. When no plug is present the two lines are connected, when the plug is inserted then the output is either open circuit
or in some cases earthed to the common pin.

Depending on what your doing with your with your plug socket, there are other ways around the problem. Is it an audio application or something else ?
Depending on what exactly your using it for a few extra components and 5 minutes with the soldering iron will solve it.

You may find the exact socket your looking for at Wes components or Farnell. Wes can be a little difficult if your trying to buy retail,
but a company name often fixes that.

It seems very few people are actually interested.
I get the feeling it is more that they like see and handle the item in the shop first before buying it or wait until a friend tells them that it is good.

Put it quite simply, I’m prepared to share my cost of shipping stuff if you want to get stuff.
The more people who share the shipment, the cheaper it gets. cash up front nothing worse than getting stung by a promise.

My friends are notorious for it. I now only get stuff now for half my friends and let them fight over who gets it.

now that you’ve found stop, let me know when you find the “feet down” control.
I’ve done this is real life.. stopped and couldn’t put my foot down. (cambre of the road into the gutter was sharp.) I stopped to answer my phone and fell over into the gutter. I ended up answering the call, laughing myself silly with my helmet still on lying in the gutter with the bike still between my legs. To make matters more interesting it happened right in front of a methadone clinic and three junkies came out and started trying to help.

actually, if you saw the latest edition of skysailor, might be a copy online at http://www.hgfa.asn.au/
There was an article about a jet engine powered hang glider demo at a local victoria airshow.
I just added a few pics to the webshots gallery.http://community.webshots.com/user/trash0

Ouch. 60kph is a bit fast even for a paraglider with the speed bar on 🙂 You really should try landing into the wind without bigears !!
Time to build a bit power chute now…
a little man with weight shift arms to pull the brakes on and a prop to give him some thrust.

    you still fly ?

I used to hang glide a lot, but the past few years I’ve been doing more working than flying.
I’ve broken both arms (humorus) in seperate incidents. But I seem to break bones just doing simple stuff like walking down the road.
23 seperate fractures, 15 screws, 3 rods and 2 plates. Last time I broke something I asked the surgeon if he could install some hydrolics so that I could do that steve austin thing and lift an engine block with one arm.blackeye:
I had my first flight in an epsilon 3 and came in with a little bit of a tail wind. I can see how punter pilots do their ankles.
The same landing in my hangy and I would have needed some methoxyfluraine again.:p

The fairey rotordyne wasn’t the first helicopter, it was built much later and it isn’t even a helicopter. It’s more of an autogyro than even rotordyne, true helicopters are powered from the drive shaft rather than the rotor tips. It is one of my favourite flying machines though.

Leonardo is the father of the helicopter like
star trek fans are to intersteller travel.
Da Vinci was an artist, not so much an inventor.
I’m sure his helicopter drawing was something he was doodling while his wife was nagging him.

So what makes helicopters fly ?
Lift ? No, only beautiful laminar wings produce lift.
Helicopters are so ugly, the ground repulses them.

(and No, balloon’s are just flying hemaroids !)

Just got back from a week of paragliding.
While the air was dead in the morning, I was flying my kittyhawk, which is similar to the DSE
pusher. Got some good thermals out of the paddock,
and lost it out of range at one point. I had to drive down the road and wait for it to glide into RC range. Quite funny to do an XC RC glider flight. 🙂
My little dash bombadier just kicks… I have managed to do some spectacular areobatics with it now. First wing overs and chantells, then a loop and finally some nice barrel rolls.

the micro subs like the SE2 are cool.
replace the front LED with a wireless cam.
I get a few laughs out of it.

I’ve run mine up to 15 metres away and it still ran fine, with an occasional death wobble, not sure if it was radio though.

If your looking for a good plane and haven’t flown before, try the yellow bee that dick smith is selling.

BTW, my friend I was holding a yellow (27Mhz) motorcycle looks like a no show, so if somebody would like to aquire it, I’ll be around only tomorrow (saterday) and won’t be back until next weekend. It’s new in the box, never been opened with the seal still in tact. I’m not too far from parramatta.

    do what I do…
I told my boss that I was thinking of knocking him off, but I figured stress would kill him before I could get the chance.
He know figures if I become familiar with stress, I may learn how to use it as a weapon and turn it against him.

I wonder if the post office is hiring people ?

they are the same circuit as a tank. Their range is about 5-10 metres. They have the same twin batteries as the trucks and tanks.

These are the best type (this kind of hull).
I have 3 mini boats. Working on building more.

I have an idea for a new thread …
“How to make bluetack conduct !”

I have some slime I picked up from a discovery shop in KL. It’s just like the slime you used to get in kids show bags etc. But this stuff is magnetic. Rather weird shit, it behaves a lot like iron filings do, but slower and heavier.

I know it has a use, I just haven’t discovered what that it is yet.

    Go the Dato !!!
1100cc, I’ve owned cars with smaller engines than that ! 🙂
I want a trabant… I think one of those little plastic cars with some port modifications, some new rings, resonant exhaust chambers and other improvements will give da go go mobiles a run for their money !! 😯
East German technology at it’s finest !

At my work at oxford falls, we have a room with some serious floorspace. (about 2 tennis courts size) I filled a cardboard box up with mini-z’s, digiQ combat tanks and the nikko iriders and took them to work today. The guys I work are ashamed that their kids have less toys than I do.
5 minutes with the iriders, and they’re fighting over who’s turn it is next.
I put a few miniZ’s down on the floor and handed out the controlers. Instant traffic jam, legs, cars, bikes going everywhere.

haha … sh*t, I work with eletronics, popped some good marks in chemistry back in high school,
but I’ll be buggered if I could ever remember
    “garlavonic pairing” 🙂

But to answer your question.. the absolute BEST batteries that you can get for your mini-Z are Sanyo Ni-MH 800.
I have done absolutely no research to justify it, you’ll just have to take the info second hand from some stranger I met in Hong Kong who races mini-Z’s in international competetions.
I have some in mine and I haven’t found anything better myself.

70’s … the coolest decade on this planet. 🙂

When we were told that oil was running out, we burned it faster because we wanted to make sure we got our fair share of the fun before it was gone.

People think Mad Max was a movie, nar..it was a dream and we were dissapointed that the world didn’t turn out like that. 🙂
