heheh …. you’re cursed now … tomorrow you will wake up and you’ll be 30, and wonder what happened to the last decade ?
1990 feels just like yesterday to me.But you’re only as young as feel… bring on the RC toys.. YEAH !!!
Hehehe …. I like you guys, you remind me of what it was to be young and stupid. Wish I was 16 again with what I know now. 🙂
Women are social creatures, they need attention,
deprive them of that and they come crawling.
Sad thing is that teenage male’s basic thoughts are easily overidden with the sheer amount of hormones their bodies produce.
Chicks are hard wired into your brains you poor fools, the desire for machinary and technology is acquired !
It is an artform ! 🙂I promise.. well be good from now on !
It’s been a while since I’ve seen that.
I can’t belive there are now like 60 clones.
I wonder what the future holds for this guy,
I can see him making a living out of anti-drugs advertising.🙂
I have to assume that I’m the old fart here at
33. I never grew up, I just finished school, got a job and thus more money to buy more cool shit.
He who dies with the most toys wins 🙂
I work in the Eletronics/Satellite Comms industry.
It tends to reflect in hobbies, like electronics and Ham Radio. Sports have to involve huge amounts of adrenalin else I find them boring.
Hang Gliding, Skiing, Diving, Hunting etc etc.
If you have to chase a ball, it’s not sport, it’s a dog’s game. 🙂The Laws vary from state to state, you may find BB guns are legal in other states. Generally any gun isn’t a toy, even BB guns. Join a gun club and
learn how to handle them properly. If you’re over
18, you can apply for a licence and have them legally.I’m not sure where ph2t is. But for those of you in Sydney, you can probably save a bit on costs by getting the parts local. The circuit is actually very common. It’s an existing dick smith kit (see DSE funway 2 green book. eletronic dice).
The difference is that the DSE circuit is BIG, it would never fit into a micro car.
You can buy the parts for less than $10 aus and
then carefully solder them in a “dead bug fashion”, though things made that way tend to be fragile. The surface mount chips you can get
from Farnell, or RS components. The PCB is ph2t’s design, you’ll have to talk to him about having them produced and how much they cost to do it.Check Jaycar too, they have another design kit, it has more LED’s but is physically bigger again.
You may also care to replace the 4017 counter with
an up down counter. I can’t remember its part number. something like a 4528.just added a pic of one of my helicopters.
hope to have move pics on there soon.check their website, you can mail order from them too.
Get yourself a roll of thin enamled wire.
Coil it up into a square loop that will fit inside the roof of your chassis. About 20-30 turns should be enough and just solder the wire to to terminal where the antenna used to be.
You might also consider trying to build a small
loaded antenna. Basically, get a small ferrite
slug (from an old AM radio.. look inside the tiny metal can’s, you can get the enambled wire from them too) and put 5-10 turns onto the slug and leave the rest of your antenna to protrude.
I haven’t tried this one myself, so at the moment it’s just a theory. If your looking for information on the web about it, look for “loaded antennas”.Get yourself a roll of thin enamled wire.

I drive a pajero for work, the RC car is a nissan patrol.I also have a nissan pajero in camo. but I haven’t even taken it out of it’s packaging yet.
I’m not sure if the hummer if different. I’m not currently at home to check. I also have a nissan patrol in camo green. The tanks are cool. So cool with 5 of them on a
coffee table playing tank sumo wrestling. The digi-Q’s are expensive, but even more fun.The tanks cost me about $12 aus each. Some brands are better than others. One type is shocking. I plan on importing some into aus, and hopefully I can get a good deal on them in bulk and sell them for about $14-18, depending on how much customs hits me up for.
When I get back home in about 3 weeks, I’ll try and do some video clips of them and more pics.
If I don’t have time then it’ll be about another
4 weeks till I’m home again.I work overseas a lot, which explains why I can get them so cheap and before anybody else sees them back in Aus. I hope to have the sub pics then too.
I saw one chasing fish around in a tank the other day.
Sorry guys, I haven’t payed too much attention to the discussion forums. I have 3. They are a lot of fun, but I don’t think they are worth their
pricetag. I can get them for about $80 aus. This is about $50usd. This is retail and shipping back to australia from japan. In japan they cost me about $60-70aus (about $40usd). Most of the cost is in the controler. It has quite complex software. It can program tanks up for teams, or one on one etc. The tanks can simulate damage and even keep score. An IR remote control in the same room works like a Digi-Q atomic weapon, it
makes all the tanks blow up at once. quite funny.I may consider bringing some more into australia
in about 8 weeks depending on the demand.http://www.aca.gov.au should be able to tell you what frequencies are availble in oz.
The ACA does very little about designating bands. they just tend to wait for something to become popular first, then write the law to suit what is already out there whether it sensible or not. 433MHz radios are a prime example.go down to jaycar and have a demo drive of them yourself. I don’t have any of these types. They are ok, but they are nowhere near as good as the DigiQ combat tanks.
check out http://www.micro-ir.com or my gallery page on this web site.– trash
buy a cheap $50 digi cam from jaycar !
I’m itching to some pics too.
Can you descibe the dimensions etc.
rotor size, tail drive mech etc. control system ?thanks.
You do know that you can get mini RC subs now
too ? They’re about twice the size of the boats, but mainly to carry the ballast needed to submerge them.I’ll have some pictures of them in a few weeks
if somebody doesn’t put them up before then.Hovercraft are in theory frictionless.
Like everything in the real universe, even maglev trains have air friction to deal with. But in general terms hovercraft are frictionless.
I have a real hovercraft and a taiyo rc. They both handle exactly the same, though I can weightshift my real hc, where the RC is purely controls. It just makes them a little harder to drive. Weightshifting you move your body weight around to make certian parts of the hull touch the water or ground and the friction helps turn
the hc around much quicker.
As anybody been able to make their RC plough in ? On a real HC, if you are running tail wind or at high speed, a nasty thing can happen where the front of the HC loses it’s ground effect and comes in contact with the surface. At high speed
the results can be nasty. Being thrown out over the front or worse, flipping or rolling with the hull landing on top of you. I haven’t been able to do it on my RC running full speed in a tailwind.Hi guys,
yep, lots of pics. problem is I don’t have enough space in the gallery for all off them.
I’ll end up putting most of them on my webpage somewhere. I have heaps of RC photos from char-G cars and boats. (don’t like char-g), some of the clones are better. MiniZ stuff, I’m building up on. Microlight planes, some of these planes are so easy to fly I have taught my girlfriend to fly
them in 5 minutes. I also thing smartpatrol helicopters need a mention. dirt cheap, indestructable, anybody can fly one.
I also have lots of RC mini cam action shots to
post. Just got to capture them off video onto PC.
I’ll get around to that when I get home in a few weeks.
