Since I started selling on eBay over a year and a half ago Ifound someuseful tips myself for taking clear pictures in good light.
I would have to say that a tripod is a must for taking clear images, using the 10 second timer of your camera in conjunction with a tripod ensures there’s no chance of a blurry image due to hand shake.
Sunlight is one of the best light sources available, unfortunately you can’t turn it on at 10pm when you just finished your paint job :smiley2:, so you can either try using a halogen spotlight (whiter than an ordinary bulb), or use the flash on your camera.
But using the flash on your camera results in horrible sharp contrasts and shadows, however you can get around this by holding some white card in front of the flashat a 45 degree angle so the light from the flash bounces up to the ceiling where it’s evenly dispersed and you end up with your object well lit which has smooth shadows.
I’ll post some pics of how I achieve well lit closeup shots (I have 2 digital cameras, an Olympus C-1000L with optical zoom & SLR which is just under a megapixel but takes amazing images, and a Kodak DX3700 which is a 3.3 megapixel but takes naff images) if someone can tell me how to post images here (is HTML allowed?).
That’s is pretty awesome derek, good work. I’m off to the electronics store! :smiley4:. Dave
Purchase directly from JO, not thru his ebay listings. Email him directly thru his ebay ID and request the pink motor. $11 each, me thinks. Someone mentioned a Tomy 3.2 coming out soon.

I tried the foaming oven cleaner and it seemed to work to a point. The paint will come off now, but I need to scrub kind hard. I’ll try to put another coat of cleaner on and see if it comes off even easier. Thanks for the tips all!
Hey Alex (and welcome to our little community!)
There’s been a few posts about these 3.8 motors in the last week. This is a link to a “3.8” forum search that I just did.
Hope that helps
Cheers

(Still up at 3.05am on a Saturday morning…. high on caffeine!)I have that set and a few others, the others aremade by hotwheels and matchbox, the tracks are open not like the other hotwheels tracks your thinkin of…ill have pics soon once i find a place to put them.looks like a real city now w/ interactive cars.Good stuff!
**willing to trade tracks for other bit char-g’s**
I simply opend up the car and unwound the arial from around the cuircuit board. This gave me a bout another 4-5 cm of length and improved the range. Especially after I took the knot out. A dab of hot glue now holds it in place
the red car front end doesn’t look that lowered. How did you lower it? Could you post picts of the cars not on a mirror and side long shots?
Check out my gallery and see how much I lowered my bit.
Heres a suggestion for the FAQ list… How about a list of known mods that you can do or havealready been done? A master list would help newbies to realize the customizing potential of Chargs, as well as help to inspire completely brand new mods, by listing what has already been accomplished. This list would have to be compiled by someone who has been in the scene a while though, I would assume, which would count me out, sorry. Any Yoda type Bitchargers out there?

i saw it a week or 2 ago, but i can’t find the site, my distributor from tomy saya, it going to be released.
Ok here’s a silly part to add to the FAQ (who said it had to be totally serious?
), a page I did a few weeks ago.Q.I find thecontroller too small/difficult touse, or want to drive my car with one hand, is this possible?
A.With the Bit Char-G? possible, don’t know yet. With the OEM Bullet? Yes, see http://www.thebeeris.mine.nu/bitcharg/OEMjoystick/
Impresa WRX White 57MHz from 9′ with capacitor to 20′ without it. I found out that the capacitor in my controler is not 10pF, it’s 30pF.
Hope this could help
You should try the tiny rubber bands that go on braces (teeth braces). You can get a bagfull for like $1-$2. A nice orthodontist might even give you some for free!

“Many sites sell it for 10″…ummm…. 10 “what”. Careful…lots of visitors here using lots of different currencies! :smiley2:
For example……
AUD18.00 = ~USD9.00 = ~GBP6.80 = ~CAD15.00 = ~HKD76.00 = ~KWD2.96 = ~OMR3.7 etc etc

sorry bdrift, i was just wishin; maybe one of the electrical engineers in the group can invent one for us, no such animal available as far as i know
i remember that, it was a looong time ago. it also had the tanks that were carrying targets on the roof and shot a pellet. b
gotta check the old school sites. b
hey mojoheli, who makes the micro transponder? what brand? b
18 bones? Many sites sell it for 10
thanks for the good info, think i will wait for the microtransponder…
I have a micro rs4 and browse through the HPIforum quite a bit and they are adding capacitors to thier esc’s (elecrtonic speed control) to get a “punch” when racing. They say it gives them a boost in acceleration. The idea is to have the ‘cap’ charge up and give off all the stored electricity very fast. So imagine you are coming into the turn and you let off the throttle and coast through. But while you were coasting through your cap charged up and when you hit the throttle you will get a pulse of electricity that is of a higher voltage. Many people have had good results with this on thier micro rs4’s. And if you think about it it makes sense. ie: you charge up a huge cap (size of a tin can) then touch both contacts to to a screw driver (or any other conductive object) and you have arc welded a cap to your scewdriver. Just a word of CAUTION using the wrong cap has FRIED electronics so be carefull. If you want a different explination you can D.A.S. in themicro rs4forum section at http://www.hpiracing.com/
Please take this info with a grain of salt (i could be (probably) wrong)
LOL @ the garage. That is SO cool!!!!
w00t!
