*laughs* Guys I think that there’s some Valid point raised here!

I’m going to PIN this topic…

    Keep nutting it out…
If someone from Bitpimps admin drops me a line we can discuss off-site some ideas 😉

    blackeye:
    A.

maybe either ausmicro or bitpimps could setup a hidden forum for just the mod/admins to start ironing out details?
looking for any way to make communication easier.

As you noted your concerns in your first post… I’m beginning to worry more about the “rivalry” thing.

It’s obviously already starting, and we obviously won’t be able to keep everyone from spouting off [merc-blue] and trying to turn this into a war of sorts.

I’m starting to lean away from the whole “VS” idea.
By the discussions here and on bitPimps, this is really nothing more than a typical contest – now we add in the fact that it’s a “team” contest.

So I’m wondering if it wouldn’t be better to just say “hey, here’s the comp, work in teams, represent whoever you want or make up your own team if that’s what you want to do.”

it seems to me, with that approach – we don’t instigate a “us VS them” situation, or “site vs site” situation – it’s back to being a normal contest, only difference from previous contests is that 3 people can work on one car (which really has already happened itself in the past)

personally, I could go either way – but thinking strictly about the hobby and the community in general – I think handling this like any other contest is going to be the better solution…

then again I’m wrong alot :p

some contests we create are harder, some are easier…
it’s not ridiculous, it’s raising the bar, making you actually use your creative thoughts to come up with something that most people can’t do, instead of the same ole, same ole…

those who can’t do it, yea they might think it’s “ridiculous”, but only because they haven’t the skills to pull it off, so they’re doomed from the get go.

but that’s also another reason why we have 4 contests going on at once. some modders are more serious than others so they get to pick the contests that are more tailored to their skills.

dunno all your details but from past experience – I would think you would want the transponder to be easily accessible and easily installed or removed.
The reason being is the transpoder systems I’ve seen being used on for instance 1:10th scale races, are up in the thousands of dollars, just not enough money to buy transponders for everyone, so people have to share.
I’d also think the lowest point on the chassis possible would be the best mounting position.

    just some thoughts.

yea it was a zip zap body, the orange challenger. 🙂

that one took me about 3 days, on and off. It wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be and turned out a little better than I thought it would. I think the bit gods just made everything fall in place for me that time! lol

    Thanks pimps.

SurfmyStrat – you’re not the only one to say that, payaso don’t like my mirrored winders either, I’m torn:) – thanks for the input homie!

ph2t – I masked the windshield and head/tail lights. I painted her white. I then took liquid mask and painted that on by hand in the shape of how I wanted my white flames. After the liquid mask dried, I sprayed her yellow. Then I did the same process and started to use the liquid mask again and painted it on how I wanted my yellow flames to take shape. Once dried, I painted it red. Again, with the liquid mask – in the shape of how I wanted my red flames, once dried, I painted it the rest of the way with the dark metallic blue. From there it was just detailing.:smiley2:

    thanks pimps:smiley2:

I used spray paints and gently started from the rear and worked my way towards the front.
Takes some practice cuz it’s easy to over-spray or spray too heavily on the rear and not enough on the front for the fade.
The car was a MS Pro and came with transparent purple so I just used the purple to accent the paint job.

yea his prices are up, I think they were 15.00/set (US).

Also, I believe he was supposed to be placing the order this week so we should only be waiting a few more weeks till we have rims in our hands.

ezenterprizes at the bitPimps forum can clarify all the details – he’s the one actually buying all the rims with the money he’s been sent from other users.

oh I see, ya I don’t like that either.

You can consider it safely hosted – I’ll always have a copy so if for some unknown reason it’s online status changes (again, no plans to be changing anytime soon), I’ll give it to you to host 😉

    Thanks man, I appreciate it.

I don’t plan on going anywhere for awhile so I’ll have it hosted at my site for a long time to come, it’s in the gallery there as well too.
Feel free to link to it, but I do please ask that you don’t host your own version.
