The faster motors will alays seem faster, but a 1.0 motor will look pretty fast if your eyes are at car level, and the car goes right past.

Anyway, if the motors were much bigger I think we’d have probably been bouncing off the walls too much. :smiley2:

The poles themselves should be easy to do, especially the older style, but securing them to the track might not be so easy. What is the base of your track made out of?

I’m actually thinking of making some track to sell!

2m x 1m board, with about 8-10m of actual track on it. You’ve seen the quality. Keep in mind that to make that track would probably take about a month for me to complete to the same standard.

I’ve seen a basic grey plastic track (no advertising, no start finish line, etc.) sell for $200 US, so I’m not sure how much to ask. I might make it some and put it on eBay.

Anyone care to make an offer now? You could also PM me the offers.

As for the trophy, I’ll be doing an animated gif of it rotating and might dodgey up a little web page for it, with results, photos, some vid snippets, etc. We’ll see what time and work commitments allow.

Remember to make it look realistic the lines will have to not be taught. Real power lines have an amount of slack between poles.

Some poles in Tassie have 4 wires on top of a T shaped pole.

There’s not a bloopers video, but we do have the footage to make one. It would be a lot of.. drive, crash, sorry man. drive, turn the wrong way, cut, drive, poilce tackle the other car, oops…

Those french blokes have a very good eye for details in their mods, and you can buy from them for your Bit.

You’ll need a translator like Babelfish if you can’t read French.

They’re 1.0s, which is why they’re easier to control. We’re getting better as racers, and over 70% of the footage we gatherred was useable, even when 1 person was controlling 2 cars, but if there’s a huge demand for a bloopers video…

So far the bloke has only said he doesn’t have a web site. So I asked if he has a set range, or is it by request (Combi to Countach). We’ll see what he has to say for himself. See if he’s just damn good, or a magician.

I suppose it’s because VW will let any toy maker use their shell that it was an obvious one for Tomy to try for. Hopefully they’ll use the old Char-G shells on the Pullbacks, or even some race decalled shells, so we can all get spare shells nice and cheap.
