actually Pete, until yesterday it was running the seven tooth pinion… the eight went in not long before we left. Will be testing the nine tooth this afternoon in it if I get the chance to take the car out…

i think between me and GeoZ we had enough spares to build another couple of cars… the GTR will be back from the dead in around 2 weeks… and wot’s wrong with my CLK PeteWah?!? I dont think I can get any more speed outta that thing unless I add more FETs… pass. I just wish I got longer out of the GTR, was the fastest car there by FAR.

there wa alot of collisions before you showed up, Tim… nothing too major though… the aerials are home-made, piano wire about 70mm longer than the stock aerials… about the same thickness too. Never got to run that F1, but it appeared to handle extremely well. And fast as… Yeah, funny my X-speed came up eith a reading of 39kph… should have tested the GTR before the Plasma went toes-up… Oh, sorry I could’nt hang about longer, had a big afternoon lined up, and all 4 sets of batteries of mine were dead by the time Tim showed up. Got a good 3+ hours of racing in all up though. Sweet. Will be going again this Sunday, anyone else, see you there… 12 midday…

yeah, i’ve heard of people doing this, I prefer the unloaded running method… will have to try it tonight, got an unopened X-speed floating around at home… talldude; that bearing issue of yours sorted yet?

dont put your motors in water!!! Or do, I suppose… up to you, but water + electrical current usually equals bad. ok, talldude; front two wheels – all four bushes (2 each wheel) replaced with the 4 bearings with the small holes. Take your diff off, remove the two bushes from either side, replace with 2 of the bearings with the 3mm inside hole. (the fronts have 2mm.) One to go! Take the rear wheel off the diff (the only one left off after removing it from the car), and remove the bushing (there’s only one – outside edge of the wheel.), swap with last bearing. Done! All other bushings stay where they started.:approve:

most of the hopping up has been done for you, merc… yeah, i’ll be getting one of these babies in the next 8 weeks… the only hop ups you may need are the ball joints and stainless steel kingpins / suspension pins. Ooh, deja vu… I think i’ve said that before:blush:

you’d think they’d sort these little problems out before the kit makes it to the shelf… it was an oversight, but has since been sorted…

damper stays dont seem to be available in alloy yet, give it time. There are replacement damper stays (stronger than the stock ones; maybe these better ones are on the chrome version) but the parts I suggest are; s/s kingpins and suspension pins, the two 5.8mm ball joints underneath, and if you’e goig to drive it real hard (is there any other way?!), then replace the 4.8 ball joints too… these last seem to be more of a precautionary measure though.

the bands while being close, do not clash with each other… will be there myself at 11.30 or so… The address; bottom of Adelaide Street (off Victoria Road) at West Ryde. You can turn onto Adelaide St from either direction too… As for age, i’ll tell you what I know; me – 31, Kevsta – 34, Justin – 27, Josh – 28 (both mates of mine), pcd – 27, talldude – ?? (never did find out; i’ll guess mid-twenties…), Tim; your age? I think we go through this questin every two pages or so… the number keeps ncreasing, but at this rate there’ll be a minimum of 6 people… now, who’s taking what? myself; both Racers, Monster, Xmod, maybe a couple of Bits. Oh, Tim; what do you mean by switching the crystal around? Not what I think you mean I hope…

that’d mean the wide bodies off MR-01 only… like Kevsta’s saying, ball diff, bearings and h-plates are the place to start, with some good nimh batteries. And a Dash DOES need fets…

ok folks… that surface is smooth, very few imperferctions (read as ‘crap’), so excellent for Z’s… kevsat; sounds like those courts are pretty old… Tim; no worries:smiley2:, and yes, I agee, most people will be busy this weekend, so 18th it shall be. Talldude; that alloy motor mount you’re keeping; is’nt that for a low mounted motor? Thought you had a high mount set…

this weakness was sort of addressed, but could have been sorted sooner. The mount that ph2t shows there is the revised design, with much thicker plastic (nubs?) around where the dog-bones screw in. These split with ease. Now it looks like the newer one cracks along the back. Alloy really will fix this, but it should have been sorted at the start. But if not the front damper, then something else would go…
