No, they have the same output. In fact I put this to the test recently. My dual “tomy” 50~60mah nicad batts go just as fast as the perfection nimh 200mah dual cell. The speed and acceleration was exactly the same. Higher mah batts just last longer, but you wont really notice the difference unless you can charge them fully. Nimh are known for their larger charge capacity and better durability, but it wont win you anything the nicads can’t win.

I do know that nimh could interfere with the steering magnet more than nicads though. Nimh will attract magnets more than nicads. So, if you dual cell a car and it tends to jerk at high speeds, then it may be the batts. I always try to keep the batts as far away from the steering compartment as I can. It’s better that way for weight distribution also.

Yep, that was that quick zap I was talking about. Pajeros come with two or four doors.

It’s a “quick zap”. I just looked for the web site. I had it on my “favorites”. I can’t get to the site anymore and a few search engines couldn’t locate it either. At any rate, if you do manage to find them they’re OK cars. It has the basic tx/rx that tomy uses, so it can be fet modded pretty easily, witch is good because the transistors it comes with are kinda high on the resistance. It has a diferent chassis than the normal BCGs. I like it because I could dual cell it easily without a dremmel. Two batts fit almost perfect. In fact I only needed a pair of finger nail clippers to make room for the batts. The bodies do not fit on the BCG chassis’s and would require a good deal of modding to make it so. It would most likely look nasty on the BCG because of all the excess you would have to take off. It also comes with what looks like white 12:1 gears, has a slightly wider wheel base. I’ve got that one dual celled and fet modded and I really like the way it drives. It’s seems to run like an SUV would when compared to a regular bit. It climbs most bumps and crud that would normally make a bit jump with the possability of flipping. It’s the same size as a bit, but the wheel base is wider and there’s a little more space between the front and back wheels. Hope this helps, but I think you’ll have a tough time finding them now.

    Betty.k…………you’re a very sick person. Sick…….sick………sick. Demented too. Definately……..demented.

I like it though. You definately gotta get some fets in there. It will change your whole outlook.

By the way, what kind of loony-toons puts shell stickers on a ferrari?!:p

I can’t remember. But I think they came from a bit racer. I do a lot of wheel mods. Most of the wheels come from bit racers. I think I found a whole batch once with different style wheels and grabbed them. I can’t find them now to save my life. Wish I could, because I’m about run out soon.

    Thanx for all the comments.

The RX-7’s forest green is from tamiya with a clear coat that I picked up here in Japan. Translated, it just says “mini spray”, but it may have a different name overseas, if you can even get it outside of Japan. I still need to color in the headlights. I was thinking silver. Any ideas?

The neon green is tamiya again with tamiya clear coat.

Froggy, I used the pictures from my gallery. You are suppost to be able to post pictures from any picture/albums that are open to the public. Meaning, if you have a yahoo photo album, THAT DOES NOT HAVE A PASSWORD TO GET INTO, then it may work. You can’t just upload pics from you’re personal computer because it’s not open to the general public to view. BUT, I will say that I haven’t found any web based picture sites that allow me to do this, including yahoo. You can put hyperlinks in there from some of the sites. betty.k, and a few others, use “webshots”, and that works well. You can find the URL by right clicking a picture and selecting “properties”. Between myself and Impreza, we should have covered just about everything.

Speaking of the gallery, I just noticed that my pics came out a little clearer when they’re sized down. Take a look if you want.

The cell phone cameras normaly produce a small pic. When you resize it then it makes it blurry.

Hey, don’t blame it on the Americans. It probably came from one of their Japanese reps. Why do we always get the bad rep. We usually think up much better crap, like baseball helmet cars. Yeah! That would be much cooler.

Actually these cars have got to be one of the worst ideas of last year. I hope the person who came up with that idea was properly flogged. Just think, they could have been doing something much cooler, like coming out with more cars, like vipers, mustangs, jags, and corvettes.

How would they be getting two 40mhz cars to run at the same time? I figure there’s gotta be some kind of frequency split.

    OR……

    If the basic tx/rx comunication is in beeps, then the 40mhz “a” may work with 1~4 beeps. For example;
    1 beep = forward
    2 beeps = back
    3 beeps = right
    4 beeps = left

Now lets say the 40mhz “b” works with beeps of 5~8. So,
    5 beeps = forward
    6 beeps = back, etc……

I know the techy term isn’t beeps, but it’s what I remember from the books I’ve read. Am I on the right track, or am I totally lost?

3:1 and 4:1. There are two different 3:1’s but I don’t see how it would change the performance. I could be wrong, but if the motor turns 3 times for every 1 turn of the wheel gear, then I don’t see how it would effect the performance by having different middle gears. I only own one kind of 3:1 gearing, but if I could get a hold of the other kind then I could do some tests with my digital speed checker to see if there is any real difference.

I have a few of these too. I love them. They do come in the seperate freqs, as stated, but some of the freqs are on original bit channels. For example, my 27mhz “a” controller will control my 27mhz tomy original bcg’s, but the other freqs I have don’t interfere at all. It’s nice because I now have 5 different 40mhz that don’t interefere with each other. I think the “a” series of these cars are on the same old freq, but the “b” and “c” series are on seperate freqs within the same band. i.e. “a” = 27mhz, “b” = 27.125mhz, and “c” = 27.5mhz. You can check my gallery to see some more pics of one of the lambos. Already fet modded and dual-celled one. Love the way it runs.

I’m sending this thing off to MA. If anyone can get this thing running, it’s him. I’ll post a new topic on it’s return if he doesn’t do it first. I don’t see any reason it’s not working. Other people have made quad cells. I don’t know if they had fets on the pcb though.

Ok, RX-7. Don’t worry about time. I know you’re busy. Whenever you get a chance, if you have the desire.

The range is ok. But like MA said, they’ve got that damn run on system when it goes out of range. It seems more run-on-ish than the super bits, witch makes them a bit of a pain, but the range is better from what I can tell. The motor is what I’m interested in though. Gotta find some of these motors for the regular bits.

Nice job on that new 360. You’ll have to post a more detailed process for all of us, if you have the time. I would like to learn how to do some work like that too.

Actually, just checked. They’re at toy east. GO TO “toy east”, then mini r/c, then check out the box for micro r/c Japan. They’re under Tamiya limited. They’re going for 36 U.S. dollars. I haven’t seen them for any less than 50 dollars since they came out over a year ago. Normally they go for about 60 dollars.

Sadly, nobody cared, and they only made two kinds. The Altezza and a Skyline.

There’s no antenna on these things either! Doesn’t seem to need it.

    Hope this link works.

Good job brendan. Got to get a pcb in there and keep us informed.

I actually got the peices and am ready to put one together myself, if it weren’t for all the trouble with the 4 cell beast I’m having. But maybe soon you can add me to the list of monster creators.

HEY, MAYBE SOMEBODY SHOULD HOLD A MONSTER CAR COMPETITON. Hint, hint.

Two of the fets on the side. The first two that deal with forward and back in the line of 5 fets. Not the steering fets, but the next two after them. Sorry if this doesn’t explain it very well.

The batts didn’t get hot, just the pcb. Also, I was charging it while open with the pcb away from the batts, so I could monitor the batts temp, as well as the pcb. MA I p.m.’ed you.

I don’t know what they do with the old stock. They may just toss it for all I know. It’s not on the shelves now though.

I did check e-bay. Didn’t come up with too much. I would rather have a reputable source though. Thanx for checking.
