    Gday ph2t, long time :).

Had an idea for you. I know this would be tougher design wise and actaully making the pcb. But have you ever thought about going into double sided pcbs to make the design smaller? It would be slightly fatter, but i think it would be worth it.

Hi all, haven’t posted here in a while, good to see the forum is still going strong.

For those with Foxtel digital Mini-Z’s will be on the “How To Channel” Radio Control Hobbies show 7.30 Thursday 18th November (repeats at 3.00am and on Friday 19th at 11.00am).

Competes against that other great show American Chopper on Discovery, but we are talking about Mini-Z’s here.

Might have to dust off the Xanavi GTR and Focus and come up to Meadowbank one day.

bah American Chopper gets my viewing, if i want to see mini z’s then i will pick up one and drive it 😀

They also make tyres/wheels for larger scales, foamies mainly. Italian made…

So they’re probably either the same or very close to what you’re thinking Mr Bear 😉

    A.

I think power tyres are made by Novarossi. Not 100% sure tho, but the name does ring a bell. 😀

Yeah well as i said it’s based on my real world testing, my 1.1 gets quite hot, almost hot enough to melt the heatshrink.

Yup, mine gets hot like that too, as long as she doesnt die tho then im happy 😀

2 motors would shit me up the wall. One crappy nitro engine is enough. All you need is for one glow plug to go, then you have to work out which one, then you might as well replace both. Not to mention mixture settings would annoy the crap out of me. You would need to have each engine running pretty much exact same mixture otherwise one would be pulling the other.

Seems like a big headache to me

They should integrate the carbies and have 1 clutch, so the crank shafts are interlocked so that they stay in syncronisation. ie. One fires then the other to achieve much more consistent running.

Its all about the Internal resistance of the capacitor(ESR). If you are just using a normal all purpose capacitor not suited to high current applications then u might as well add a paper weight to your car. But if you get a good Low ESR capacitor then it can make a significant difference.

Jaycar actaully sell low ESR capacitors. I went into the springvale store but i couldnt find them in the components section.

If you find you have trouble with the body falling apart then put silicon around the inside of the body. Its what i do on 1/10 scale car bodies.

Another solution to using locktite in places where you cant becasue it eats it away is to use liquid gasket sealant on the threads. Works good.
