That would be quite a good sleeper actually, throw in a wn turbo and a seriously hot motor, some energizer/sanyo nimhs, some good tyres, and a few more handling improvements……

That’s what I was thinking. The tall body also has plenty of room under it. probably could run big rubber front and rear 😉

What can I say! I got up at 7am in Canberra and by 11:30ish was freezing my poor butt of in Sydney in the rain.

Yes folks I made the trip up on Sunday to say ‘Hi’ and catch up. Many thanks to dgs73, peteWah (now Dalt), novin, Di & Ben for providing entertainment, travel services and a fun filled day.

I can HIGHLY recommend to anyone out there to get out and get involved in meeting your local ausmicro.com members, putting a ‘real’ face to the names and being social away from the computer is a great thing.

We will have to get some more stuff like this happening.

A ball diff can/does help a bit. They’re also good to set up a bit ‘loose’ and use it as a primitive slipper clutch type arrangement to smooth power tot he ground delivery. Helps when learning to drive the ‘Z but sadly also wrecks the balls in the diff!

GIF and JPG files should both work. The images will be resized and re-compressed (including a watermark) to the size that is allocated for your member support level. For a “Normal” user this is 640×480.

File sizes are restricted mainly by the speed of your link to the Internet, the script will time out before really big images upload. I’ve also set a maximum size of 2MB on all uploads.

I did have a parcel of shares a while back, well a year or so ago I sold them to pay some bills 🙁

However I find the concept of investing in Fine Wines quite curious. There’s a company that does this specifically and they do have some impressive results. The other thing to consider is that you can always drink it 😉

PM me if you want their contact details.

Not attacked, but living in Canberra I have to say that the long dry spell (ie drought) has brought the big buggers out from the bush and onto the streets.

A few weeks ago I was driving through a suburb at like 6:30am and encountered a group on a sports oval, and one that was hopping along the footpath alongside the car at about 40kph!

There’s a lot more big Roo roadkill about these days as well. The Roos are coming into suburbia seekign water and greener pasture, unfortunately a lot of them end up getting killed by traffic, or attacked by dogs.

Tim, Brendan – you’re both probably having the same problem I did when I checked if it was working again. Just above the list of topics in each forum there’s a Drop Down Box (on the left) that sets the “Age” of items you wish to view, change that to “All” instead of “Last Month” and all shoudl be well.

You don’t need to log-in to read it all!

The details of the new Gallery system will be revealed shortly. Give me a couple of days.

Every member will be able to create and maintain a Member Gallery. Members who have a higher “Support Level” will get a bigger Gallery!

*laughs* If you wear that “J-Thong” thingo too often you probably won’t be able to have kids 😉 I think it’d require some serious attention to detail in the packing dept.

Geo-Z – for the record those companies do their own Customs work. Yup that’s right they’re an approved inspection/collection body. That’s why they normally charge the world for it. EMS deliveries go through the regular Australian Customs and generally you’re treated fairly and things are much better handled.

No worries – I know we didn’t save the scads of money we wanted too – but I think we all got a fair deal out of the buy. Certainly made things a little cheaper!

Bankers – Trading online in Australia in the hobby business is pretty cut-throat.

The large established bricks and mortar stores (Frontline Hobbies, Hobbyco, Radio Models) all offer exceptionally competitive prices and stock levels through their online presence compared to what you or I could do when dealing through the Aussie “official” importers.

Quite a few people import from HK direct and resell but you’ll need a lot of cash up front to make a go of it and a lot of contacts.

The big problem is supply and demand. I sold my first bit char-g on e-bay for over AU$180 but these days you’d be lucky to get an AU$30 cost price covered.

People like Bithed succeed becuase they work hard at building customer loyalty at prioces that are ‘fair’. Most of bitheds customers buy from him time after time becuase he doesn’t overcharge, but att he same time he’s good to deal with, answers his e-mails promptly and always does his best. If he’d slip up with that he’d go down quicker than the titanic.

ausmicro.com traded online for a while and it was a lot of work for quite low margins, we then handed over our online sales to another company that did quite well with it.

Woudl I go back to selling online? Yup – it will happen. Will we sell what we did last time? Nope.
