    *laughs* I like it.

Well Bithead has hit upon part of the ‘problem’ we actually don’t have the logo in a form that’s suitable for use for any of the designs yet. As those in the know will notice the one we used in antialiased etc for pretty web presentation and so on.

In timeframe terms we’re probably talking months to go from now to putting the shirt on peopels backs. Well indeed any merchandise together. BUT in the interim period there will be plenty of discussion, brainstorming and info gathering. For example KittyKatSmack has done a similar thing before therefore I’ll be picking her brains about how to make sure the venture doesn’t send me broke, if someones a t-shirt designer (or indeed a grahpic artist of some kind) I’d like to think they’ll help us a bit as well.

    Keep the ideas coming 🙂

But What about mugs? Basic white mug witht he logo? Perfect to hold coffee or and a corner marker for races in an office evironment? Have about rulers that double as track ripple strips??

Well on the shirt idea (this is only my rough thinking nothing more) here’s what I envisage…

    * Basic Shirt: White T-shirt with small version of the website logo on the front ‘pocket’ area. Back of shirt to bear simple artwork and logo.

    * Flash Shirt: Probably a good quality item with stiched logo artwork on front. Polo style in cotton or that new fangled cool-tex stuff so it don’t need ironing 😉

    * “Special”: Something unique that will hopefully be “collectable” either becuase of the artwork or the design and limited production.

I should add that becuase of the high upfront costs etc we’d probably do one thing at a time 🙂

*laughs* now this is interesting. I shoudl add that such a car/body would need to be already made, and not marked. ie Body in white, so we could then apply the custom decals etc.

Part of the issue to control is cost. there’s heaps of cool stuff we could get made, the proble is we need to be able to afford the development cost and more importantly you guys need to be able to afford to buy it!

On the subject of voting. If there’s not one item on the list that you want above the others please select “Other” or “If it’s cool”.

Keep the ideas rolling guys – and keep the votes coming. This is a very serious Poll that will probably be used as the key input into what (of anything) gets developed.

Please post ideas and discussion here. Keep it sane and reasonable 😉

This poll is here to help us decide if it’s worthwhile working on some merchanise. Essentially most of it would be based around the current logo with other design touches to suit!

*grins* I think we can say that you should post the link advertising the auction into the ForSale 😉 But run your ‘sweep’ in here 😉 *laughws* it’s kind of hard to categorise 😉

He went missing around the time of our hack…

Which leads me to meander off-topic…

Oddly enough I was able to trace the IP numbers of the guy that turned up just after the hack claming to know the hacker. I then tracked these back through our logs (both in the Forum DB and in the WWW server logs) and lets just say that a few formal complaints went into a US based ISP about the conduct of their user/s.

I posted a very small snippet of the info I had back then and suddenly those IPs and 3-4 users just went missing.

    Draw your own conclusions 😉

What I can say is there’s not much people can do without appearing in logfiles 😉

Just a reminder, please try to post something worth reading 😉

I’m sure we all want to have high post counts, but if it leads to people posting “me too” everytime they see something I will turn off the post counting.

*shrugs* You’d have to pay me to have a PS2… Biggest marketing con job that thing is…

As for the games. *shrugs* They’re mostly crap. (at least the genres of games I like are crap on the PS2)

The way the Pics (and indeed all the ‘submission’ stuff works if by you guys entering in info (be it URLs to pics, Articles, or Downloads) and then I as “Administrator” come through and “Approve” them.

For the Pics to work they have to be hosted on the ‘net somewhere. I’m considering allowing them to be uploaded to the ausmicro.com server and so on but it does mean a fair bit of coding and organising on my part. It could be a few weeks until I have it right.

    Exactly Krumm 🙂

I know I’m enjoying being 27.75 and buying myself the toys that my parents could never afford to buy me. I gave my Dad (who’s a little beyond twice my age) one last year and he loves it.

I think the technology has come to such a point that it’s just pure fun.

A lot fo us are rebelling against what I call the Playstation Syndrome too. (we’d rather play with a real toy instead of staring at the TV for hours straight).

mmmm interesting on the shocks front as the Frictions are a dead set match in length/travel for the ones currently on my TA03…

Ahhh yeah, mean the propellor shaft (as already mentioned over a TC) not the universals. I know what you mean about the grease. It’s due for it’s first strip and clean so I may see about getting hold of some graphite instead of the very light greasing I’ve done in the past.

And few of the LHSs here have them. Not hugely cheap, about $25 a pair IIRC. Still that’s on par with some tourer tires 😉

    *nods* basically my plan.

Oil shocks of some kind – Possibly I may buy a new set of Super Low Frictiosn for the TA03 and migrate the current ’03 oilers to the TL01

Some more “roady” (Road Hawgs or whatever they’re called) tires instead of the spikes

    Hotter motor 😉

More than enough to have some fun with.

Only other stuff I’d considered was the weightweight shafts (driveshafts etc)

This thread is another reason for everyone to fill out their info (as much as you’d like but please stick your age and Gender in!) becuase we can then implement cool things like “What’s the average age of an ausmicro.com user?”

Kind of make it an automatic process 😉

Yeah the sticker sheet is historic in that area 😉

The rest of the car is _way_ better than what people tried to tell me. Considering the price I paid for it was about 30% less than the cars that were thrown up as alternatives I’m very happy with my choice!

It’s probably tough to fix I dunno 😉

I’ll play with some settings… There may be a “Master” override that forces the PM notification to go…

You can all be Pimps… although I suppose the code could be tweaked to allow it to select between the Genders and then display somehting like “Lusty Vixen” or whatever was deemed suitable 😉

Yeah mines very similar to the pic barring different paint colours (Daytona Yellow, Grape Pearl) with different decals layouts in places.

None of us can really just ‘edit’ the settings. I can through the admin controls change them but really I decided to have a bit of fun for the heavy posters. So we’ve got the fairly strightforward stuff and a couple of “Pimped” entries.
