As an aside – I’ve whacked a daul intake cold air induction setup onto the XR6T…. Based on a hybrid of XR8 parts, XR6T parts and a adapter from a guy in Perth….
Result is traction problems through 1st and second gear…. Somewhat odd having T/C activate at 90km/h!!!

Site Owner Guy.I’ll sit down this week with a Calendar and my diary and see if I can brew up a good time.

Site Owner Guy.Remember for a weekend there’s stacks of time, and beucase the cars are small it means they can be brought along through the sightseeing experience.
I _think_ it may be possible to arrange stuff at NSTC, OPH, maybe NPH, NMoA etc certainly…
Spring is a great time of year to be in Canberra….
--
Site Owner Guy.Canberra is about 3-4 hours out from most parts of Sydney (traffic and location) or about 7-9 hours out of Melb (again traffic and location)…..
So it’s not a bad trip in either direction and there’s few places ‘in the middle’ with population.
Doing something in Canberra is a chance however I shoudl point out:
* We can’t people under 18 in Sex Shops
* Green stuff is not Legal, it’s not a criminal offence to have possession but it ain’t legal
* Fireworks are Over 18yos only! That’s me being responsible.
Now keep in mind that over a weekend we could do some racing and ‘play runs’ of the R/C stuff in a lot of unique attractions, plus if we have neough cars some good cruising/sightseeing (or jump the big red doubledeskers for a day), burn meat and chill and all that stuff it could be a real positive.
Problem is how much do people wanna pay for accomodation – $18 a night each 3 to a room in an F1? Somethign flasher?
Who’d be driving? Who’d be bussing? Who’d be on the train?
Just thinking it may be worthwhile teasing this idea out …

Site Owner Guy.*grins* Canberra Race would be great!
BTW a few other groups I’m involved with use Canberra as a hub for events that attract both Sydney and Melb. based peeps for that exact reason!

Site Owner Guy.Hiya Danny…. Glad to hear it came together well!
I think 2×2 isn’t that common for stack size, but in an F1 it’s about all that fits (as shown in your pic) …. So you may be having to try and see how things run – just don’t be too ambitious 😉

Site Owner Guy.Our account details will be made very obvious once we’re fully geared up to accept Donations etc.
I know there’s a lot of members out there keen to support the site, BUT I want to make sure you get something for the hard-earned cash, let me finish the Gallery coding (once I get past my impasse) and all shall be good!
The last thing I want is peopel feeling they’re being short changed by features that are promised and ‘paid for’ but then take ages to be delivered!
dgs73 has snuck into the scape becuase he has the details already and we’ve been doing business over the past months that has been of benefit to both parties.
A.
--
Site Owner Guy.That’s becuase dgs73 has made an offer he won’t let me refuse.
On the code front. I spent a few hours yesterday banging my head on the brick wall trying to work out how to make things work….

Site Owner Guy.Yeah the $1K 4 tiems a night is almost enough temptation to watch the “Uplate” show.

Site Owner Guy.The news is my coding has been delayed by some problems with hosting that need to be coded around!
However what you describe will be the exact case.
I’m hoping to finish off the last bits of coding in the coming two weeks so we’re live for testing it all mid-June and in place July.

Site Owner Guy.I’ll have to build in a small Smiley panel into the quick replay again 😉

Site Owner Guy.Thanks for the feedback – please keep it coming.
Hopefulyl it will mean that I can fine-tune things a bit.
The time-out situation shoudl improve as I’m having a server config changed yet again to a more stable application pool.

Site Owner Guy.We were running a p2p client in the background 24/7… Set to about 50% utilisation, check in doing the backups of ausmicro.com and stuff and it added up very quickly.

Site Owner Guy.I had 512k/b ADSL in the old place… the new place I’m fighting for it…
I was doing up to 80Gb a month of traffic… One of the top talkers in teh ACT region 😉

Site Owner Guy.The reactor was in the sticks when it was built, the population came to it.
While I’m not a big fan of Nuclear reactors they are important for medical science, and other research/development not just making electrickery or bombs.
Slow breeders are generally quite safe, it’s the fast breeders you gotta watchout for becuase they rely in part on controlling a reaction that would go boom if left unchecked (ie Chernobyl)..
A.

Site Owner Guy.Both my friend… 🙂
BTW if you want ADSL try either Goldweb Internet (http://www.goldweb.com.au) or Infinite Networks (http://www.infinite.net.au)
On different backbones, and different pricing structures…

Site Owner Guy.Yeah Ok so I’m a junkie for reality TV… Krystal ain’t anything special. She’s there to keep the male viewer numbers up.
Afterall these shows are about entertainment, they’re cast more than selected.
The ‘cast’ is structured to give a balance of conflict, sex, drama and comedy to suit the target audience.
This is a very analytical approach to it, but can make the show ‘interesting’ becuase you’ll get to see the way you’re being manipulated 😉

Site Owner Guy.*laughs* Most of Australia is still stuck on dial-up Jowlz. For example I live on the north side of our Capital city, and am on dialup becuase ADSL isn’t available.
There’s not much cable in Australia – it may pass about 1/20th of the homes in the country!

Site Owner Guy.*laughs* yeah I reset everyones flags (but my own) becuase there’s a few functions that are now in that I don’t want to enable until I’m sure they’re working….

Site Owner Guy.TallDude… not just you…. I haven’t coded that mod back into the code for the “Quick Reply Box” yet. They are witht he “Reply to Topic” function though.
ph2t, yes we can host media at the moment. You can attach them like I’ve attached the pic above. I’m going to add a media vault as well, which would let people find/manage them a little easier (linked in with existing files section).
Like most things it takes time.

Site Owner Guy.I think it was about 2 weeks. And yeah it did take a little bit of effort to get communication. However from what I could work out they tend to wait until they’re ready to send everything and then send it. That can take a few extra days in the process.
I don’t think these guys take retailing as their 1st job… probably hobbyists like us just making a few $$ on the side to support the addiction.

Site Owner Guy.I tested the gallery this morning and all (assumming getting passwords correct) is working fine.
In a week or two I’ll turn on the new Gallery system. It’s fully integrated into your ‘regular’ ausmicro.com account. So if you can get onto ausmicro.com you can manage your gallery.
Galleries will now top out at 50 pics too!
So hang tight good news is coming!

Site Owner Guy.*nods* This link was posted around a few other haunts of mine a month or so back. Very sobering stuff.
I enjoyed the narrative, a very pragmatic yet sensitive one. The scenes of all the equipment used and then dumped afterwards is just amazing.
