A.

Site Owner Guy.They (or their host) is probably getting a lot of bad traffic thanks to that worm/virus going around.
It’s hurting a lot of sites/networks at the moment.
A.
--
Site Owner Guy.Don’t get me started on that worm!
--
Site Owner Guy.Yeah that Arlec brick is pretty good – apparently theeres a cheaper version of it around…..
The brick won’t do NiMH though…..

Site Owner Guy.*nods* I worked out I can source those FETs (and indeed had a few spares) for under the price DigiKey sells them int eh US… and that’s after I include shipping to the USA!
I think Whoa Nelly really has the numbers on anythign out there thus far… I don’t think there’s affordable FETs out there that come close to Nelly….
Although the Neurokinetics setup is extremely tough on current draw..

Site Owner Guy.Geo-Z….
I picked up the xbox today – Brand new (wasn’t goingt o sacrifce my home one for the project…)
Some details (although completely off-topic)
* X-box with Xenium Mod Chip
* Custom power supply (my own design) to run from as little as 8 volts… Lots of high frequency inverting DC-DC gear in there. The chips alone are worth over AUD280
* Custom video interface lead to link into the factory colour screen that’s factory built into the Dash of the car
* custom switching audio interfance intot he stereo system and selectable via factory stereo
* Fixed control buttons (Play, toggle Stop etc) mounted in place of ciggy lighter.
* IR remote to allow rear seaters and Passenger/driver full control of unit
* Side mounted highspeed notebook drive to store majority of Data.
* Boot mounted network, video, controller interface ports.
* etc etc etcThe project keeps getting bigger and the budget is not that large… But in the end I expect to have at most $750 in the system and have it doing more than about $3000-4000 worth of custom install…

Site Owner Guy.*laughs* Yeah guys – communicating first and foremost – we (the moderators and I) run a very relaxed forum – the main thing is that peopel are talking and getting together and good stuff is happening!

Site Owner Guy.*ndos* a guy here at work got one real cheap off e-bay 😉 Gave him quite a few hours of entertainment driving around the office with his 1/10 😉

Site Owner Guy.*laughs* ’tis cool. It’s interchangeable with the diagram for any other H-Bridge type arrangement then I guess.
Was just following up on a thread in Tinyrc about X-Mods and using slightly different (and more readily available) IRF FETs in a similar fashion to Nelly.
Not as good on the internal resitance though….

Site Owner Guy.yes Geo-Z I have a modded xbox, and am busy working ont he design of building another one into my car. Only have a few minor details left to sort out before etching coppr for a complete new P/S and control interface

Site Owner Guy.I wish it did 🙁
It would appear the server is running out of puff…. It’s not ausmicro.com causing it….
*grumbles* another reason why getting money together will hopefully result in _way_ better performance!

Site Owner Guy.ph2t….
Am I correct in assuming you’re just feed thing the logic in from the PCB directly into the Gate of the replacements?
Gottem circuit diagram? In particular showing the interfacing to the PCB?

Site Owner Guy.*laughs* I was waiting for someone to notice 😉
OK here’s the ‘state of play’.
About 90% of the code has been written and is working on the development site.
Working:
* Membership levels
* File Attachments to postsIn development:
* Gallery SystemThe gallery system is almost complete however it currently won’t work in the manner that i want it to two due to a config change on the server from when our hosting was changed. This leaves me with a couple of options, but I don’t like them so I’m trying to get the config changed to make these things work again.

Site Owner Guy.The cold war will start once again? I wouldn’t wish G.I. upon anyone …..

Site Owner Guy.Cosmo – that deal is always available… I buy the suckers in batches of 95 – and always have them at hand or at most 1-2 working days away.
I think I’m on my 6th order, and the price hasn’t changed 😉
A.
--
Site Owner Guy.Cosmo.. Yup we do FETs for AU$2.50 each delivered… Buy a 5×2 (10FETs or more) and they come Express Post.
I can’t get a reliable cheap supply of the 4562’s which are not _that_ much better than the IRF7389s.
At the moment one wholesaler wants to charge $27 per FET, unless I buy 100.. then it drops a fair bit… but I still wouldn’t want to to stock them as I’d be a lot of $$ out of pocket and they’d have to cost you guys more than double the IRF price…

Site Owner Guy.OK about this WAP thing… what exactly would you like?
I mean I can enable a WAP friendly sub-domain, but then I’d have to rewrite the entire forums to be WAP friendly for just that sub-domain (basic read and post functions)
Or is there something else?
A.

Site Owner Guy.*grins* I checked them before uploading in QT6 and in WMP9 and they both worked… but I’ve got a pretty serious updating routine….
Oh they play well on the Xbox too 😉
