Ni-Cad cells will always “regenerate” to adegree – as the chemicals inside are always “volatile”.
The simplist way is to ensure that you lift the car off its wheels and runit till the wheels dont turn any more.
I have another method which is a little more tedious – and not really essential:
I use a small LED light and hook iotup to the contacts on the bottom of the chassis……..When the light goes out – it is as dicharged as itis going to get.
I hit a new record just now for run time – 35 minutes with a 1.0 motor !!

there is also a 1.2v cell that is 280mah at jaycar.
could have your car running for quite a while!!!
it is a little larger than the 3v lithium batteries (cr2032) and would require a bit of modification to fit into the body of the car.
the battery is 25dia x 8.8mm
i hooked one up outside the car, but it looked weird so i took it off.
i also tried a 1/3AAA 3.6v battery rated at 43mah, but the runtime was too short.
whats a good way of fully discharging the battery? sometimes i stop playing witht he car after it stops moving, but then i try to see if it’ll move again like 10 minutes later, and it still can.
i believe it is there so that you can have several groups of people racing on different table tracks in the same room -to prevent you from controlling the cars on the next table!
This is a favourite topic of mine – battery charging !!
A common misconception with these micro cars appears to be that they can only be charged one or two times in succession before using it. NOT TRUE…..
I will explain:
When reaching a full charge Ni-Cads start to convert the energy going into them into heat – this means that the battery has taken all of the charge it is going to take – and is converting that un wanted energy into heat. This is when the battery is fully charged – NOT before.
Charging the Bit Char G fully can take 3to 5 consecutive charges before the battery starts to get warm, depending on the condition of the transmitter batteries.
You are not damaging the battery by getting it slightly warm – in fact you are doing it a favour – you are ensuring that the battery has a FULL charge.
I regularly get over 18 minutes with a 2.2 motor on my garage floor – longer on my kitchen floor (because it offers less resistance)…..
Another important factor in charging – is in fact ensuring that you DISCHARGE your battery fully before the next use……this reduces the chances of the battery getting the dreaded “memory effect” which causes the cell to gradually detoriate in a short period of time.
Dont be afraid to charge your car twice or three times in a row – always checking the temperature of the battery using the “lip test” ;)….. (put your lip on the bottom of the car – and see if there is a slight warmth where the battery is located)…….then go on charging until the battery gets slightly warm.
Give this method a try – you will be very surprised at the length of run time you get out of the car.
I am currently trying to source some nickel metal hydride batteries for the Bit Char G – to allow even longer run times ! Charging NIMH batteries though is a whole different story.
Just my two cents on the matter – I hope you all find this helpfull.

Any form of oil or grease on a car this small is a bad idea – as it will attract dust and dirt – making a lovely grinding paste to wear out your gears !! In fact – grease would increase friction somewhat.
Keeping the drive train free and clean is a much more effective method.
Tamiya were well renowned for suggesting grease and oil everywhere on cars – made parts wear out double quick – great for them – you had to keep buying spares !!

Hello all, I’m new here, nice to meet you guys..
I have 2 DigiQ, a Skyline Penzoil and a TT With Propo SPECIAL controller.
This is the difference, the Special Controller. This is what I did:
I did not buy the standard package with one car and one controller, I only bought the 2 cars I wanted without controller and then I bouth a single Controller Propo Special…. this controller is easy to program!!!
Thanks to this controller you can change top speed, Acceleration Curve, Steering amount and brake power. By changing this parameter you can make your cute DigiQ drive a lot better than a digiQ with standard controller.
This cars are very (and I mean very fast). So you need the controller to tune the car to your likeing. if you think the digiQ is hard to control you can change all the above parameter until it fits your skills
I’m getting some Bit Char-g in a few days so I will be abel to compare them, but My friends have some Tomy Bit Char-g.
On speed I raced on open floor a Tomy Bit Char-g with 3.0 Engine and Turbo Controller (which make the Bit Charg even faster then without the turbo).. and guess what, the digiQ didn’t care, the digiQ was much faster.
I also raced on straight lines the digiQ against a 1/32 canned car (the tin car has declared speed of about 5/6 kmh) WIth the DigiQ set at “4” as top speed, the digiQ was slightly slower
Setting for DigiQ at 5 and the DigiQ was slightly faster
Then I modified the tin car to bring it at around 9 Kmh!!! So I set the top speed of the DigiQ to 8 (maximum). The digiQ was FASTER!!!!!!!
If you feel the digiQ is not easy to control in corners, you can get the speed set to under 8 and increase the turning circle… it will help.
Yes the DigiQ takes 10 minutes to charge but it will last for 7 to 15 minutes (the Tomy charges in 45sec and only lasts no more than 3 minutes)BUT NOTE, this is why I bought 2 digiQ, while you conrol one digiQ car you can attach the second car to the conroller to recharge, so when you current car is out of juce you swap it with the other one that has now been charged and keep swapping for ever….
Also the DigiQ (as far as I know) has memory cells without “memory”, so you don’t have to wait full discharge for the car before you charge it again
To master the digiQ controller will take longer than a Bit Char-g, so the bit Charge offers a more immediate satisfaction
I never tryied a DigiQ with a standard controller, I guess it will be hard…

Oh yes you can modify the many ChoroQ bodies to fit on a DigiQ, but I have never done it so far and I think it is not a straight forward job… but then again if you want modifiction in bodies as a hobby, you don’t want it to be to easy as simply buying a body and fit it on… that’s too easy eh ehe h (Joke)

xcellent. i got a responce from my email in less than 12 hours. probably 9 hours, but my brother was on the comp. not sure if they’ll send me the missing car because i use a different name for my email than my real name, for protection sake. but we’ll see. i sure hope they do.
