yeah – my second GTR had serious range problems.. got the yellow s-2000 upon wille’s recommendation and it rocks!

returned the second nissan today @ brunswick K-mart. JNH are gonna be annoyed with the large number of returns.. V. happy with my s-2000, but want a 1.0 motor so i can race, not just drag/do stunts.

prob. get a sale pack from toyeast – their prices seem ok. and you get a 1.0 and 3.0 motor!

    O.

Thanks derek for added info on the 4 channel. You might want to add that you use category 5, 8 wire copper when replacing the car’s antenna found in computer pcb wiring.

Will this help my car go in a more straight path forwards and backwards? I’ve managed to adjust the steering trim knob thing at the bottom so that it goes in a straight line forwards, but it still *always* reverses to the left. Is there any other way to fix this?

I have ordered twice from toyeast and I got both my packages 2 or 3 days before the expected arrival date. I have never had any problems with them. By the way I live in San Diego, CA.

    KITT’S A MAD MAN!!!!!

“A shadowy drive into the unstable world of a man who does not quit” hahahahaha

This mod in real life would be similar to puttinga 2000 gallon gas tank on a ferarri. You have the samehorsepower, the car now weighs 4 timestheoriginalweight but you could drive across the contenentseveral times after a fill up.

Compared to the small 2 cell conversion:

Power to weight ratio will beWAY DOWN.

    Acceleration will bemuch worse.

Top speed will bea little slower

Endurance will … OMG … it’ll probably last for hours!

Let’s just say, if you want to race your friends with small cell mods you should probably request a 500 lap race. hahaha

Nice Job KITT. I vote for a ferrari limo body. That would make it a ferrarimo????

I tried the antenna swap with the older bit-char g controller (about 4-6 inches) more but still had glitches. The best modification was to go to radio shack and attach a 31″ telescopic antenna to your 4 channel. The hardest is to attach it securely. Good luck!

thanks for setting some things straigh..appreciate it….

Not gonna go for an OEM, as I feared- is kinda too cheap to be true….

No K-mart (or ToyWorld) around me has them…thats whay ToyEast looked like my best bet…..

I will look into prices of clones more…

Whatever I get, Im gonna have to put another battery in it…can they do burnouts???

Hey, I had the same problem with my silver S2000 (27mhz) as you, I bought it at K-mart (I don’t know about you, but the timing’s right so I assume so too) and the range sucked, but it wasn’t as bad as 2 metres. I tried looking for the cripple capacitor, not there, so I tried the better and longer antenna mod, but that didn’t moticeablly increase my range. As well as this problem, the car also had big problems reversing, so I decided to exchange it and when I got my yellow (40mhz) S2000 it was sweet.

Now I’m by no means saying that all silver S2000’s are hopeless while the yellow ones are great, but this is just my experience which I thought you might find useful.

But before you cry foul and return your car, try putting a brand new pair of high quality (I use energizer now and my range is as far as 9 metres)alkaline batteries and see if that helps.

    Hope it works out.

    just a point of interest… the mini-x is 4wd 🙂

so handling will prolly be much better, but i am not sure about the motor size compared to the z.

the X is the same scale as the Z too…

they look good but I think you have to paint the shell

    Hi all.

Mikes site has been updated and you can now access the fitting section for instructions on how to install the mods.

I received my black Toyota Celica with the Ultimate Light Mod installed and I must say its as good as I’d expected. I’ll put a review up on my main site. The double click feature works really well.

Yesterday morning I did another two battery conversion. I need a limo bodyshell for this one.

*WARNING* The below pictures are not for the faint of hearted :smiley4:

As it’s an OEM Bullet I chopped up the acceleration of this monster isn’t that good but it gets some nice speed up once going, I don’t know how long it’ll last on a full charge – I think I’d get bored after half an hour, the battery ‘pack’ is from a Gameboy Colour battery pack and still has the charging socket on which I connect up to the 3AA battery pack used for charging my Ferraris, and the piece of plastic inbetween the two halves of the car is from a broken DVD case.

I’m nowwondering what a 3 AAA battery car would be like…

You may have bent your axle. A slight bend in the axle causes the teeth to get really tight at a certain point in the rotation. You wont be able to see the bend if its slight because the axles are so small, even when its spinning, but its enough to cause the clicking. Happened twice to 2 axles I pull on and off alot. Actually I took apart the axles to mod them with custom rims, and thats how it happened.

Torule out the spur gear (middle gear) as a possible cause, swap out axles with an identical one but leave the same spur gear on. If the clicking goes away then it was the axle like I suspect and the spur if fine. Otherwise Defor is right no the money.Hope this helps.
